"Phresine," the queen said without turning her head to look at her attendant, "I can read your mind."
Phresine moved her hands, stilled during her thoughts, back to their tasks. "Then you know there's no harm in old Phresine," she said.
-Queen of Attolia
Finished this gift for @lechatelierite for donating during @fandomtrumpshate They requested Phresine from the above scene and I, glutton for punishment that I am, decided to not only include Attolia, but a mirror too.

I stood there thinking of the Namreen hunting me and the rewards they would post. Or maybe they’d found my master’s plaque next to the slave dead under the rockslide and no one was looking for me at all." — Thick as Thieves, chapter 10
This work was a gift fot @kareenvorbarra and @artino-c for the @hamiathesgiftexchange!
After reading @kareenvorbarra's What We Are Allowed, I have been thinking a lot about how Laela must have felt when she heard Kamet was supposed to have died in a rockslide...
The bracelet is the one Kamet buys for her on chapter 1 of Thick as Thieves; the design is based on the description on the fic mentioned above.

This is not exactly what was requested, but te prompt got me wondering what kind of person Dite would fall in love with after mending his broken heart, and this is all I could think of...
This was drawn as a treat for @allcanonisrelative for the @hamiathesgiftexchange!

And Costis heard, as clearly as he'd heard the king speaking, another voice. It said, "Go to bed." Eugenides the man and Eugenides the God, an illustration of one of my favourite scenes from The King of Attolia! This was my gift for @etoilegarden for the @hamiathesgiftexchange!

Some art based on @hoeratius's AU fic [La belle dame sans mercy], where Gen and Irene marry different people and live to regret it :'D
1 Chapter 10 -- Among many liberties I took here, I put Irene in a stool instead of a chair (because I didn't want to draw a chair...)
2 "Oh, it's you, Eugenides." -- Chapter 16
3 Attolia and Attolis
4 Eugenides and Agape
5 "He stood on the balcony threshold, just inside the cover of the curtain like a child hiding behind his mother’s skirts." -- Chapter 10
6 "‘Better’ turned out to mean Eddisian linen so fine it was easy to see the shape of his arms right through it. It was covered by a sleeveless tunic in dark blue, so closely woven that it kept Sophos warm despite its light appearance." -- Chapter 16
Extra: first version I did of the first picture out of memory, then scrapped once I reread the scene again and realized the vibes were completely wrong:

“You have spied on me for years?” she asked.
“Yes,” Eugenides admitted.
“Watched me deal with my barons and my servants, loyalists, traitors, and enemies?” She thought of the hardness and the coldness she had cultivated over those years and wondered if they were the mask she wore or if the mask had become her self. If the longing inside her for kindness, for warmth, for compassion, was the last seed of hope for her, she didn’t know how to nurture it or if it could live. Unable to guess the answer, she asked, “Who am I, that you should love me?”
“You are My Queen,” said Eugenides. She sat perfectly still, looking at him without moving as his words dropped like water into dry earth.”

I need my golden crown of sorrows, my bloody sword to swing,
I need my empty halls to echo with grand self-mythology
I am no mother,
I am no bride ,
I am King.

Irene in Moira's Pen || Burning Down the House of Kallicertes
A WIP a few weeks in the making, since I haven't been able to work/draw due to being sick, and the freshly crowned Attolia has my whole heart at her dainty feet

Redraw of an old fan art of The Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. It’s crazy how much my art has changed!
Also, if you have a fondness for conniving little scamps, go check it out!
