History of Worlds

The Mizrahi's have been all around the Worlds over the generations. Here is a history of all the worlds and how the Mizrahi Legacy has impacted them.

Henford-on-Bagley:

Old New Henford - Where it all began. In Generation Zero (before the legacy began) the land was split between two families who worked in harmony despite having different ways of doing things. During the Antique Generation, Uriah purchased the Hoffman's farm. His son later gave the Hoffman house to his ex-wife but it was later purchased by Jonathan Noble and is used as the HCR headquarters so that all of Old New Henford (once Little Henford) is connected to the Mizrahi family.

Finchwick - The bustling town center is a perfect place for a Henford heart-to-heart and a popular place for teens to gather. The Gnome's Arms has been at its center for longer then anyone can remember. Once a bar it was converted into a restaurant in the 1920's. It's now surrounded by Chopra's Antiques (est: 1899), as well as a theater, bookshop and cafe and an arcade even opened in the 1980's

The Bramblewood - The area has been fiercely preserved by the Batiste and Harris families. While it does consist of a number of smaller farms (including one that is often used as a dance hall) the Isle of Volpe itself remains untouched by technology. Tucked far within these woods is a small cottage that Alexander Hough stayed in while smuggling his family out of Henford to Chestnut Ridge

Brindleton Bay:

Cavelier Cove - Not much is known yet about the Bay. It's the place where Jeb Mizrahi was exiled in 1896. There he worked at the lighthouse and raised his 3 daughters. But they left as soon as the Economic Depression of the 1930's hit and little is known of their childhood. Hezekiah was based there during WWII where he met Gilbert Gilberts the founder of San Sequoia.

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Sable Square, Whiskerman's Wharf, Deadgrass Isle

Windenburg:

Olde Platz - After his parents death and getting adopted by his uncle in 1898 Gideon Mizrahi set off on his own and settled down in the growing city of Windenburg. He pursued his lifetime dream of being an artist and eventually met his wife Cecilia Kang who convinced him to move back to Henford

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Lykke Center, Windslar, Crumbling Isles

Britechester:

Gibbs Hill - Uriah's other nephew Hemman attended Britechester when it was still a small school nestled on a hill and was just starting to accept female students. He was an exceptional student whose wife continued to work in the library for many years after his death in WWI. Nikolas Layne attended the same college which by that time had spread across the river.

Unestablished Neighborhoods - University of Britechester, Foxbury Institute

Granite Falls

Forest - In 1914 the co-heirs of the Burnished Generation went on a hunting trip with their uncle. A trip that ended with Daniel beating David and abandoning him in the woods. David bore the scar on his for the rest of his life.

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Campgrounds

Del Sol Valley:

The Pinnacles - When the Worlds were still shifting and close together, Thorne Bailey (who also owned the college) sent his daughter to the highschool in Henford where she met Daniel Mizrahi and married in 1908. By 1976 the Alto family was the big name in the Valley and up-and-coming Ranch Music Singer Johnny Zest is expected to live there by the 2000's

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Mirage Park, Starlight Boulevard

Evergreen Harbor:

Port Promise - When the Economic Depression of the 1930's hit Hezekiah and his cousin Kailee Hoffman moved to Evergreen Harbor for a new start and lived as hobos near the Port. It was there they met their SO's. After WWII Kailee and her husband Knox Greenburg opened a rehebilitation center for women and soldier to find work after the war

Conifer Station - Hezekiah's older sister Lizbeth married William Pigulock and when he inherited his grandparent's estate he moved their family to Evergreen. The house became a type of boarding house for the women and their children while their husbands were at war. It also a few blocks away from the orphanage where Sofia was raised until a fire burned it down

Grim's Quarry - While it was once considered the nice part of the Harbor it has become rather run down since the Depression. Anabelle Gillain grew up there but after her brother fell in the Quarry couldn't bear to stay. She later returned for a short time with her infant son and Knox Greenburg frequented a bar there during his low point after WWII.

Copperdale:

Plumbite Cove - Despite not having many shops it is the busier part of Copperdale due to having the Carnival. It was here that Hezekiah moved his family after WWII and they have had a home there ever since.

Prescott Square - An old neighborhood that has held a bit too tightly to it's roots. The Prescott's have lived there since the town's founding. For the longest time the Black Lantern bar (which Sofia and her children lived above from 1961-63) was the only thing keeping the area alive but since the bowling alley was added in 1964 it's been growing again and there've even been talks of a Thriftea store being put in.

Rockridge Heights - Home of Copperdale Academy where both Ava and Kylan Marie attended high school. It was there that Ava met her husband Kyle Kyleson and the legendary prom of 1987

Oasis Springs:

Skyward Palms - Mostly known for it's strip club and the dirty dealings of the Oasis Springs Syndicate (OSS) it was here that Sofia fled in 1951 after discovering she was pregnant. She worked for Don as a Call Girl until 1954 and in 1959 Nikolas Layne headed an investigation to put Don behind bars.

Bedrock Strait - A more rundown part of town where Don also owns land. It was there that he housed Sofia in a trailer since she had a kid and he didn't want her living in his brothel.

Desert Bloom Park - A simple park in the middle of the springs where Sofia spent a lot of time with her daughter and eventually met Jameson Reed.

Mirage Canyon - The civic area of the springs that includes a restaurant that Sofia frequented and the museum where Ava met Nancy Landgraab. It was this restaurant and museum that the Chopra's visited on their honeymoon in 1894 and inspired their love for Selvadoradan culture and led to them opening Chopra's Antiques

Parched Prospect - A quiet more family friendly part of the Springs where Jameson Reed brought Sofia after rescuing her from Don and they lived while they were married until his arrest in 1959

Acquisition Butte - Home of the Landgraab's and pretty much only the Landgraab's. After Nancy traipsed all over the worlds in her youth she finally managed to settle down with a nice doctor and they have moved back to take over her parent's company.

Tartosa:

Terra Amorosa - The place where Sofia and Jamal went on their honeymoon. Due to the trauma of his arrest she had no good feelings toward it and has never recommended it to any of her children or grandchildren.

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Porto Luminoso

Selvadorada:

Puerto Llamnte Marketplace - Filled with deep culture, beautiful architecture and screaming vendors. It was here the Stefan met Esteban Beltran who was selling his wares when Stefan came with his uncle on a mission for the HCR.

Belomisia Jungle - Filled with secrets of an ancient civilazation. Legend says that the Omiscans who lived in the ruins were highly advanced and disappeared one day in a flash of light. The HCR has a "pharmaceutical" grove that they tend though there have been deeply buried reports of people dying from eating the fruit.

Strangerville

Strangerville Plaza - Currently known only as Area GP-7 by all accounts it doesn't exist and the stories that come out of it are merely conspiracy theories. If there were still anyone who cared what happened to Jameson Reed after his arrest they would find a rather cryptic transcript. "Arrived at GP-7 for interrogation, Cypher recovered, Transferred to Batuu"

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Shady Acres, The [Redacted] Lab

Mt Komorebi

Wakaba - A quiet and traditional neighborhood where Stefan and Esteban settled down after escaping the Sulani War and lived peacefully despite not being allowed to be open about their relationship

Senbamachi - The most traditional part of Komorebi. It was here that Geoffrey Geofferson went to work for a natural medicine doctor and fate brought him and Nancy Landgraab together. He started his own practice after they married and was doctor to Esteban when diagnosed with HIV

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Yukimatsu

San Myshuno

Spice Market - The original neighborhood of the city. There was a time when all the festivals happened in one district and Ava took her daughter to all of them no matter what world they lived in at the time. Nikolas Layne lived there after becoming a Detective while he was working to take down the OSS.

Uptown - The hub of the city with a nearby Botanical Garden. It is here that politicians make Worlds Addresses for large events such as natural disasters or terrorist attacks.

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Fashion District, Arts Quarter

Willow Creek

Sage Estates - The neighborhood that Sofia lived in after a fire burned down her orphanage until her mother sent for her.

Unestablished Neighborhoods - Foundry Cove, Courtyard Lane, Pendula View, Crawdad Corner, Magnolia Blossom Park

Magnolia Promenade - A small world that currently houses an asylum where Ava's father was held until his death in 1968. Though there is no evidence, some of the nurses claimed that Nikolas Layne was responsible for the death while other's insist that's impossible considering he was the one paying for the man's care.

San Sequoia

Hopewell Hills - The quiet neighborhood where Gilbert Gilberts first came when he was founding his new world after leaving Henford-on-Bagley. It was discovered in 1986 that a complicated will left the World to his 3 sons: Geoffrey Geofferson (now Landgraab), Michael Michaelson (now Celeste) and Kyle Kyleson (now Mizrahi)

Anchorpoint Wharf - The business district of San Seq. Includes the bowling alley Ava and Kyle frequented with the Michaelson's in the early years of the marriage as well as the bar that Kyle frequented in the dark years of their marriage.

Gilbert Gardens - The family part of town where Gilbert ended his life. It includes the Family Fun Center which includes everything a family would need without ever having to leave town.

Chestnut Ridge

New Appaloosa - The town center where everything happens. It was here that Kylan Marie went on her first date with Shane Rosenthal and later met Dyami Grove

Rider's Glen - The country area where Kylan Marie is staying on the Mulligan Ranch and Shane works as a Ranch Hand.

Galloping Gulch - A mysterious part of the World that some say is haunted. Though the lake is beautiful place to take a dip during the day there are many who say that there a spirits that haunt the Gulch that are unhappy at the technology coming into the Ridge.

Batuu (mention only) - After Jameson Reed's arrest and interrogation. His mind was wiped and he was shipped to somewhere called Batuu. That is all that is known of the location.

Sulani (mention only) - In the 1960's there was a war in Sulani that Stefan was drafted to fight in from 1962-64.

Tomarang (mention only) - The world that Shane Rosenthal was born and raised in.

Due to this malware using an exe file, we believe that anyone using a Mac or Linux device is completely unaffected by this.

If the exe file was downloaded and executed on your Windows device, it has likely stolen a vast amount of your data and saved passwords from your operating system, your internet browser (Chrome, Edge, Opera, Firefox, and more all affected), Discord, Steam, Telegram, and certain crypto wallets. Thank you to anadius for decompiling the exe.

To quickly check if you have been compromised, press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run window. Enter %AppData%/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/UserData in the prompt and hit OK. This will open up the folder the malware was using. If there is a file in this folder called Updater.exe, you have unfortunately fallen victim to the malware. We are unware at this time if the malware has any function which would delete the file at a later time to cover its tracks.

To quickly remove the malware from your computer, Overwolf has put together a cleaner program to deal with it. This program should work even if you downloaded the malware outside of CurseForge. Download SimsVirusCleaner.exe from their github page linked here and run it. Once it has finished, it will give you an output about whether any files have been removed.

Other Branches of the Mizrahi Tree

Outside of the main family line of the tree lies a number of spare branches that have their own minor legacies. Below is the list of these legacies, their role in the main plot, as well as their current heir.

Mizrahi Farm (Nathaniel Tabor) - During the Antique Generation Uriah Mizrahi inherited his father's farm after the untimely death of his older brother. He later purchased the neighboring Hoffman Farm which belonged to his brother-in-law giving him control of all of Old New Henford. He left the land to his son David. While David is considered to be the heir of that time it was his twin brother who actually produced the next heir so David was able to leave the land to his own biological son Reuben who never had children of his own but his twin sister did and he adopted her youngest son Nathaniel as heir.

Henford Crime Ring (Hayden Noble) - During the Juice Prohibition during the Burnished Generation Esther Mizrahi married Gilbert Hough who opened a speakeasy (that David worked in). With his wife's full support he became a powerful figurehead in Henford that no one wanted to cross. His son-in-law Jonathan picked up the mantel after Gilbert's death in WWII leading to both sons working to break free of the family after Alexander's daughter was severly injured as a toddler. Samuel continued to work for the HCR while keeping his family a secret in hopes of protecting them from a similar fate. It wasn't until the 60's when the HCR got tangled up with the Oasis Springs Syndicate (OSS) and they met Detective Nikolas Layne that both brother's were able to get out and be moved to other Worlds

Henford Citizens (Batiste/Harris) - During the Antique Generation, Uriah's older brother passed away but not before he had 3 sons. His middle son had two children. His daughter Kinley Batiste was the heart and soul of Henford and passed that down to her 7 children. Her oldest daughter Rosalie Harris has now passed that down to her own 6 children. Together they keep Henford running and grounded to it's roots.

Pigulock Manor (Huey Pigulock) - During the Classic Generation Lizbeth Mizrahi married William Pigulock who later inherited his grandparents estate in Evergreen Harbor. The house was a safe place for the women (including Kailee Greenburg who founded the Greenburg Rehabilitation Center) to raise their families while their husbands served in WWII. After William died in the war his children struggled to get their feet under them. His son Frankie was a deadbeat who never had children while his son Blaine (who he never met) was in and out of rehab and eventually OD'd. He had a son with a stripper who seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Though Huey currently lives in San My with his wife and son he is set to inherit both the Pigulock fortune and the Greenburg Rehibilitation Center (see below)

Greenburg Rehibilitation Center (Amira Greenburg) - After the Hoffman Purchase during the Antique Generation, Imram Hoffman continued to work for his brother-in-law Uriah and he and his wife were great supports for their nephew David during the Burnished Generation. During the Classic Generation their daughter Kailee went to Evergreen Harbor with her cousin where they lived in a hobo camp and she met Knox Greenburg. Knox had big dreams of changing Evergreen, dreams that she brought to fruition on her own while he was fighting in WWII. Their children halfheartedly continued their dreams but after Amira's death the Center will close unless someone finds a heart to continue.

Scavengers (Elisha Gagnon) - During the Antique Generation, Jeb Mizrahi (Uriah's nephew) was disowned and cast out of Henford for getting a woman pregnant. After his death in WWI and his wife's death a few years later their 3 unmarried daughters were left with nothing. When the economy collapsed during the Classic Generation they became homeless and lived in a junkyard. While Hannah's son Cohen continued that lifestyle her 3 daughters were raised in an orphanage and given a bit of a better chance at life. Two of her grandchildren have even managed to make a name for themselves with Katlin being a prestegious scientist who's research helped cure Esteban Beltran during the Expressionist Generation and Derrick Parson who became the music agent for Johnny Zest during the Fast Generation.

Oasis Springs Syndicate? (Major Blanton) - During the Burnished Generation David's other cousin Gabriel (Kinley's older brother) took to a life of crime. But rather than stay in Henford and get involved in the HCR he moved to Oasis Springs and got involved in something shadier. He met Rowan who was [redacted] and they had two sons. While Gabriel was eventually arrested and spent his last days in prison, Rowan continued pursuing her own goals. She worked as a double agent for both the Syndicate and the HCR while completing her own mission. She was sent to retrieve Sofia from her foster home during the Classic Generation at which point she gave her a cypher disguised as a book which she later sent a Syndicate agent to retrieve during the Dandy Generation. Though she died before achieving her goal of [redacted] she passed her aspirations on to her son and grandson who launched OMI during the Fast Generation in preparation for [redacted]

Mizrahi Family History

Each generation of the Mizrahi legacy has consisted of two major events. These events may be referred to in future generations as common knowledge. Below are the events and how they effected that generation as well as the relevant years.

Antique Generation (Uriah):

The Hoffman Purchase (1902) - Within a 3 year period Uriah Mizrahi's nephew was disowned (1986), His brother, mother and sister-in-law all died (97-98) and his nephew gave up his inheritance (1899). leaving him to inherit the Mizrahi Farm. Later he purchased the Hoffman land from his brother-in-law leaving him with sole ownership of Old New Henford (then Little Henford)

Electricity and Indoor Plumbing - Throughout the early 1900's the family led the charge in technology and began the breaking down of some gender roles.

Burnished Generation (Daniel and David):

Worlds War I (1918-19)- Uriah had 3 sons all of which fought in Worlds War I along with their uncle Imram. Only David returned. Considering Daniel had been abusive to his wife whom David also loved this turned out to be the best result.

Juice Prohibition (1924-26) - After the war juice was prohibited in Henford and David worked for a time as an illegal bartender at a speakeasy that his brother-in-law ran.

Classic Generation (Hezekiah)

Economic Depression (1930's) - During the Depression, Hezekiah moved to Evergreen Harbor where he and his cousin were homeless for the majority of a decade. This was a signifant time in the Mizrahi history as it was during this time he met his wife Anabelle and because of the economic uncertainty was unaware that he had a daughter living in an orphanage until she was 8 years old.

Worlds War II (1941-44) - While the men fought in the war the woman settled down in Evergreen Harbor during which time Hezekiah's lost daughter Sofia was brought back from the orphanage and his cousin started the Greenburg Rehibilitation Center for helping women become independent.

Dandy Generation (Stefan and Sofia):

Sexual Revolution (1951-53) - In an attempt at indepence, Sofia ran away from home and sold herself to a pimp. Due to her hardships she learned to value and fight for herself, a lesson she passed down to her daughter and granddaughter.

Sulani War (1962-64) - Sofia's twin brother Stefan was drafted and fought in the Sulani war. When he returned home to find the man he loved had also been drafted they used their sexuality as their ticket out of fighting despite the black mark it placed on them.

Expressionist Generation (Ava):

Women's Rights (1976-79) - Living in San Sequoia which was filled with archaic pressures, Ava fought to find balance between the old practices of her mother-in-law and other San Seq residents and the new female empowerment passed onto her from her mother.

Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n Roll (1979-81) - Ava practiced her new empowerment by having an affair and an abortion while her husband fell into a life of drugs and lost his job. A sequence that almost cost them their marriage.

1962 Pt2 - Come Back to Me

"Ok what's going on? You've been moping ever since I got in yesterday."

"I'm not moping."

"Okay pining then. Did you meet a girl?"

"You know I don't meet girls."

"So this is about my sister then."

Nikolas fell silent, confirming Stefan's suspicion.

A gentle smile played on Nik's lips without him noticing. "Oh now I know something happened! Spill it."

Nikolas sighed, "We kissed or she kissed me...I don't know it was confusing."

"Uh huh and? Don't tell me you didn't like it?"

"Of course not! It was incredible!"

"But?"

"But...you didn't see her eyes Stefan. It wasn't real. I don't know why I'm telling you this. You've never even been in a relationship."

Stefan cleared his throat and grabbed his coffee. "Let me get this straight: Sofia kissed you in a clear cry for help and you...ran?"

Stefan stirred his coffee as his words settled over Nikolas. "I...I didn't run! I'm giving her space. She's confused and I don't know if I'm strong enough."

Stefan shook his head in mild annoyance. "My sister is going through hell and you don't think YOU'RE strong enough?"

"I don't expect you to understand."

"Why? Because I've never been in a relationship?"

"Well yeah. You just don't understand how hard it is to love someone this much and not be able to be together."

"I have a pretty good imagination. You do what needs to be done."

"Yeah which is why I'm staying away."

"You're an idiot. For as much as you claim to know my sister you've forgotten, Sofia self-sabotages when she feels alone. You're so worried about hurting her you abandoned her...just like our mother."

"Don't say that..."

"Prove I'm a liar"

Stefan was still irritated as he left Nik's apartment. "You've never been in a relationship," He mocked, "You don't know how hard it is." He flopped onto the bench in exasperation. "No, YOU don't know how hard it is. At least you can get advice. At least you have support."

He heard footsteps behind him and his heart leapt. Not from fear but in anticipation. He felt a hand brush his hair gently then his head was tilting back so he was looking into Estaban's eyes, "Talking to yourself?"

Stefan breathed Estaban in as he was greeted with a chaste kiss.

Estaban came to sit beside him cupping his face and peering into his eyes questioningly. "What is wrong Nae Lee?"

"It's just been a rough week. I don't want to talk about it yet."

Estaban smiled and took his hand. "I want to show you something."

"Wait."

"What is it?"

Stefan hesitated, thinking about Nikolas' words.

"You're doing that thing again aren't you? Someone said something and it got you thinking...about us."

"I'm just so scared Estaban. My family would have me locked up if they knew."

"You're cute when you worry"

"I wish you'd worry a little more."

"Well I was worried enough to check that the park is empty. And the patrols don't come by for another hour. And...we're just friends...right?"

Stefan nodded and Estaban took his hand again covering his eyes before they rounded a corner.

"Are you ready?"

Stefan laughed, "Just show me." Estaban lowered his hands and Stefan let out a barely perceptible gasp. "Estaban, it's...amazing!"

"I found it last time I came to the city and knew you would love it. I used to climb trees like that big one when I was little."

Estaban nuzzled his neck his hands travelling lower and Stefan gasped moving Estaban's hands up again. "Not yet. I'm...I'm still not ready."

Estaban kissed his shoulder "Okay Nae Lee."

"I wish you would tell me what that means."

Estaban hummed in his ear but didn't answer.

Stefan took his hand and they walked into the greenhouse together. "There is still something on your mind."

"I'm fine Estaban. I don't want to ruin our evening."

"It's ruining my evening to see you upset."

"I'll tell you...But I want to enjoy just being together first."

They walked slowly through the greenhouse. Stefan shared useless facts about some of the plants they passed and Estaban just listened holding him close. "This one's native to Sulani..." He faltered "They...they're going extinct because of...pollution and..."

"Hey! What's wrong?"

Estaban led them back outside. "Okay, no more stalling. What is going on?"

"It's about Sulani."

"I got that..."

"You've heard what's happening?"

"Yes."

"I...I...I got drafted"

"Drafted?"

"Yeah. I have to fight Estaban. I have to go away for two years and fight a stupid war"

Estaban pulled away.

"It's not my choice. If I refuse I would lose everything." Estaban looked down at his hand, tracing the lines like Stefan often did. "It'll only be two years and I'll probably just be in a boat...shooting into the trees-"

"Stop. I'm not mad at you."

"You're not?"

Estaban turned fiercely. "Why would I be mad at you for things you can't control?"

"Then why are you upset?"

Estaban brushed Stefan's cheek, "I like when you braid your hair like this. I don't know if I ever told you that."

Stefan collapsed into his warm embrace.

For a moment Estaban just held him but after a moment he pulled back. "I'm upset because if the military were to find out about us it would ruin you and I refuse to allow that. You cannot write me. Not like you do now."

"We're...just friends right?"

"Yeah...just friends."

Estaban's arms came around him, pulling him close. They'd never kissed before. Not really. Not any differently then how Estaban kissed others in his Home World. But this...this was different.

1962 Pt1 - Memories of Us

It was a sunny day in late fall as Nikolas went for his regular morning jog through the Spice District in San Myshuno. The chilly air was a welcome distraction as it bit against his skin. He didn't want to think about anything but the strain of his muscles.

The city was bustling with protesters, buskers, the shouts from the food stalls and homeless sleeping on benches. But his mind wasn't on any of those things. He hadn't seen Sofia since their kiss and he hadn't been able to think of anything but her in those 3 months since.

There was so much he regretted...

"Nikolas what are you doing here? How did you find me?"

"You didn't honestly think you could hide from me did you. You know I'm a Clever Sim." He pulled her close and breathed her in, thankful that she was safe even if she lived in a trailer.

"So do I get to meet Ava or just keep standing here on your porch?"

Sofia brightened and he felt relieved. He'd been so worried when he read her letters but she looked happy when she talked about Ava. Now if only he could convince her she didn't need this pimp's deal.

"Hey Little Bird, this is Nikolas, my bestest friend in all the Worlds." Nik steeled himself against the emotion. Sofia was a mom. He took Ava, and Sofia's hand rested over his. He looked down into those eyes and promised himself somehow he'd ruin Mathias for what he'd done

As if she could tell Nik's dark thoughts, Ava began to cry. "Oh no! Hey Ava, It's okay. Nik is a friend!"

"You better take her back." Sofia lay Ava back down and Nik poked around the trailer. He paused at a mirror and took a deep breath. He'd do it, he'd tell her how he felt.

Nikolas ran harder as he remembered that day. He should have done it. He'd been a nervous teenager, not ready for that kind of commitment. He'd only been 16 but she was already taking on responsibility she hadn't been ready for. He should have just done it before Jamal came.

The day of the Spice Festival he'd had big plans but Don's plans had been bigger. "Sofia what is this?"

"Don't read too much into it. It's just for emergencies. You know in case I lock myself out"

"Well thank you. I'm glad you trust me"

"Of course. There's no one I trust more"

He should have swooped in when he saw her with Jamal that day. Staked his claim. Made his intentions known...but he wasn't that kind of man. He didn't want to dominate her even if he could. He never wanted her to feel like he expected it.

And because of that...he'd lost her

"Sofia's best friend is a hands-off friend...noted."

Nik laughed but he already hated the guy, "No one can change Sof's mind when she wants something."

Nik stood threateningly as Sofia turned away. "What is it you do, Nik?"

"I'm a cop...and you?"

"Just a dishwasher."

"Huh."

Sofia had sent him an invite just as he'd asked. He'd come of course. Even though it was hard. Even though Stefan and Kyler told him he shouldn't. Seeing them kiss had been too much to bear.

He would let her go now, move on. All that truly mattered was that she was happy.

"Since we were kids, Sofia's always worn her heart on her sleeve. She always dreamed of meeting her prince and living happily ever after. I'm so glad Jamal could do what none of us could...bring her home. To the happy couple! May the Watcher bless you with an incredible life."

After his speech Nikolas couldn't bear to stay any more. He found a quiet place in the church and thought about what he wanted from life now that she was safe.

"Mind if I join you?"

"Shouldn't you be upstairs." "They think I'm in the bathroom...you okay?"

"Yeah just thinking"

"Nikolas..." Sofia interlocked her fingers in his. "You are such an incredible man. Any girl would be lucky to have you. Just go for it."

Nik chuckled giving her hand a squeeze. "I'll keep that in mind."

"Well she'd be dumb to say no. I'll bet you're married in a year."

"Sofia." He took her hand holding it tight, his heart beating faster as she looked at him with that innocent curiosity. After everything, she could still be so terribly naive. She really had no clue how much he loved her.

"What is it?"

"I'm really happy for you."

"There you are." Jamal's voice brought their moment to a halt and Sofia jumped to her feet to greet her husband. Nikolas cast a glance up toward the Watcher. It was too late for him. Jamal was whispering dirty things in her ear.

Nikolas slipped past them unnoticed.

There was a lot he regretted about his relationship with Sofia. Many times he had wished he told her how he felt. But there was one thing he didn't regret. He didn't regret going to the basement rather than walking out the door.

If he had left the church he would have missed it.

He would have missed Jamal slipping down the stairs and glancing over his shoulder suspiciously. He would have missed the way he headed toward a corner he knew was empty and disappeared. If he had left the church he would have never known that Jamal was bad news.

Nikolas stood and headed toward the shelf that Jamal had disappeared through. Pressing his ear against the wall. All his detective alarms going off telling him that his gut instinct about Jamal was right and not just jealousy. Knowing Sofia would never believe him.

"That cop friend of hers is in love with her. If I didn't make a move he would have."

"Don't act like you won't enjoy the perks...I know I did."

"I'm not denying that. But this marriage is just a means to an end."

Nik knew better than anyone...Sofia sufferered because of him.

Dandy Generation Recap

Ava Mizrahi was the result of an unwanted pregnancy after her mother (Sofia) was assaulted.

Desperate to give her daughter a better childhood then she had, Sofia ran away to Oasis Springs to raise her daughter as a single mother.

For the first 3 years of her life it was just Ava and her mother until Jamal Donnelly entered their life.

She was 6 when they married and 10 when Jamal (aka con artist Jameson Reed) was arrested and they divorced.

The trauma of the divorce created a hard edge in Ava that some might call cold-blooded and made it difficult for her to make and keep friends outside of the snobbish and mean Nancy Landgraab.

While her mother and half-brother coped with the divorce in their own way, Ava poured herself into her education and was eventually asked to tutor a failing student (Kyle Kyleson) who managed to quickly work his way into her heart.

Despite Ava's affinity for distrust, she said 'yes' when he asked her to marry him and they moved to San Sequoia where he grew up.

But they are still young and there is still much they have not worked through.

Other Side Plots...

Ava's mother Sofia remarried her childhood best friend, Nikolas,  the year after Ava and Kyle married. Nikolas is the closest thing to a true father figure Ava has ever had. He was the first person to meet her when she was an infant, gave her treats as a toddler, was her confidant as a child and he was the one she asked to give her away when she got married. As a detective it was Nikolas who learned the truth about Jamal/Jameson and arrested him and it was him who Ava and Thomas would call in emergencies. He was also an unofficial caretaker for Ava's sick biological father, Mathias who passed away shortly after Ava met him.

Ava's uncle Stefan (Sofia's twin brother), currently lives in Mt. Komorebi and is believed to be a caretaker for his mentally ill companion Esteban who was not allowed to fight in the Sulani war due to his 'illness'. The family does not know the full truth which is that Esteban was deemed 'mentally unfit to fight' after telling the recruiters that he and Stefan were in a relationship. Though not legally married in most worlds they have privately preformed an old Salvadoradan marriage ritual and consider themselves eternally bound.

Nancy Landgraab is Ava's closest friend despite their tense relationship. They met in Oasis Springs as children and despite a tense start realized that they were the only ones who could stand one another and to some extent understand each other. Nancy has always had a poor opinion of Kyle causing tension that led to a fist fight and Nancy getting suspended from Copperdale Academy.

Kyle comes from a very close family that shares everything. He lived with his older sister, Jennifer, while attending Copperdale Academy, but continued to keep his parents in San Sequoia informed on his life, including his romance (something Ava was not too happy about). Kyle's dad Evan works for a computer company and has helped Kyle get a job in the company while his mom Glenda is a rather religious recycle disciple.They are very involved in the San Sequoia Community.

Expressionist Generation Recap

Kylan Marie Mizrahi (Known mostly as Marie) was born to newly married and very young parents (Ava and Kyle Kyleson).

Due to their youth and poor communication skills her parents struggled in both their marriage and with parenthood especially after Ava's second pregnancy brought twins (Ajax and Alora).

Marie was always independent even as a toddler and did her best to be a good daughter and big sister by doing her chores and entertaining herself.

Her closest friends were Dudley (the son of Nancy Landgraab who was adopted by Celeste Michaelson and raised in San Sequoia)

and her Uncle Tobias who was a year younger than her.

When her parents seperated during her childhood she did her best to stay strong for her mom and siblings. During this time their mom took them to Chestnut Ridge to stay for an extended Spring Break before moving in with their grandparents in Copperdale.

By the time her parents had reunited she had become accustomed to life in Copperdale and had her heart set on Copperdale Academy. She convinced her parents to let her stay with her grandparents (Sofia and Nikolas).

During this time she dated around a lot and got bad grades but mostly kept her experiences on the down low until a car accident took Uncle Toby's life and revealed to her parents that she was in her first trimester of pregnancy.

While Marie wanted to keep her baby (Ember) she has had difficulty connecting with her infant daughter, allowing her parents and sister to provide most of her care and has spoken very little about the father or the events of the accident.

Other Side Plots...

Marie's grandmother, Sofia, had a rough past which included selling herself, marrying a con artist, and getting involved in an alien plot, which led to years of PTSD that her now-husband Nikolas had to help her work through. While Sofia is desperate to find purpose in her son's death, Nikolas who is a cop searches for the truth no matter how painful. Unfortunately Marie remembers very little.

When the family visited Chestnut Ridge they stayed with the Mulligan family who Nikolas had previously helped escape the Henford Crime Ring (HCR) though little is known about the situation surrounding that. During that time there was a visit from Juniper Grove who claimed the land was owned by the spirits.

Nancy and Geoffrey Landgraab recently moved back to Oasis Springs to take over her father's company. As her father is unaware of her son Dudley's existence she has been hesitant to accept him as a proper Landgraab and has instead paid his way to the Arts School in Del Sol Valley and renounced him as her heir which has caused tension between her and Celeste.

The sim who is in the business career develops a drug addiction. In 1985 roll d8 for the results of their crisis point. 1/2) Parties themself to death. Change one trait to Dance Machine, Erratic or Slob. Sim dies at end of decade. 3/4) Resorts to stealing to support habit. Change one trait to Kleptomaniac, Paranoid or Non-Committal until end of generation. In 1985 this sim is caught and loses job and is threatened with jail if they don't reform. 5/6) Quits cold turkey. Change three trait to Hot-headed, Mean and Gloomy for 3 years, pick one to keep for the rest of their life. 7/8) Listens to family and friends and goes to Rehab. Move them out of house for 3 years. When they return change one trait to Self-Assured, Neat or Perfectionist.

1961 Pt2 - Fear in Her Eyes

Things started to stabalize for Sofia once she moved back to Copperdale. Her parents happily provided meals and took their grandkids on occassion so Sofia could take care of herself and work some odd jobs. Even Catty settled in.

One day when the kids were in Plumbite Cove for the night, Nik stopped by to check on her and they went to the roof to catch up.

"You look good, Sof."

"I don't feel good. It's still hard. But I'm trying...for the kids."

"I hope for yourself too."

As they chatted for a bit the sun went down and Sofia shivered. "You cold?"

"A little."

"Here." He drapped his arm around her and pulled her closer "Can't have you freezing on your own roof."

"I can go get a sweater."

He kissed her forehead gently, "Up to you."

Sofia nudged his shoulder and their eyes locked, the air around them stilling.

"Hey!" Nikolas poked her side, "No spacing out on me."

She laughed and pulled away, "Stop you know I'm ticklish there."

"Where? Here?"

"Gah, Nikolas stop." she screeched in laughter.

She leaned back and he fell on top of her both lost in the humor of it. But then the air became charged again as their eyes locked. He brushed his thumb against her lip without thinking and she looked away, her mind disconnecting at his touch, preparing herself for what came next

Before Nikolas could process what was happening Sofia pulled him down into a practiced kiss, wrapping herself around him, feeling his body respond to her touch. After a moment he pulled away.

He could see her fear how she was already catergorizing him with all the rest. "Damn."

He climbed off her angrily. "Damn it!"

"Was it not good?"

"I didn't ask for that! I don't want that!"

She scanned his body with a smirk, "Sure."

"Sofia, any redblooded man would have this reaction if you touched him like that, that doesn't mean I want it with you."

"Oh so you just get hard for any floozy who looks your way it that it?"

"NO! Gah give me some credit, I'm not an animal."0

"So you do think I'm attractive. Just not enough to plumb with."

"No...yes...stop!...You're putting words in my mouth!"

"It's really not that complicated"

Nik rubbed his forehead. "Sofia, you're beautiful okay. There's nothing wrong with you. But let's get one thing straight. You're my best friend and ONLY my best friend. And if you ever try to twist that again this friendship is over. Understand."

"Yeah...get off my roof Nikolas"

Nik did as Sofia asked leaving her sitting alone feeling more abandoned and confused then she'd ever felt in her life. As Nikolas walked home the storm clouds started to roll in and he looked up to the sky and whispered a little prayer.

"Watcher, don't let me have ruined it."

He made his way home to San Myshuno and collapsed on his bed. He'd never lied to her before. Never in his life had he wanted something so badly as that kiss. But not like that. Not with that fearful disconnect in her eyes. He couldn't, wouldn't take her that way.

No matter what.

"Is everything okay Ann?"

Ann forced a smile but footsteps interrupted them.

"Mind if I join you, ladies?"

Sofia rolled her eyes at Mathias' unwelcome entrance but kept her attention on her friend. "You seemed distracted at dinner."

"I'm fine just under a lot of pressure."

"It's that family again isn't it."

"I really like them Sof. If I nail this recital they might adopt me. Can you imagine? Me a Valley girl."

"I can't even imagine getting out of this place let alone moving to the Valley."

Footsteps interrupted them as Maci entered the room.

"Will you be okay in here while I sort out your paperwork."

The new boy nodded as she slipped into her office.

"Hi! I'm Sofia, what's your name"

"Nikolas Layne Pearson"

"Wow 3 names! I only have one...I was born here."

Nikolas didn't say anything.

"What happened to your face?"

"That's a rather rude question to ask someone you just met."

"I'm just curious. I thought you might have a tragic backstory...like a novel."

"This isn't a plumbing novel. And if you must know I ran into a wall!" He stood to his feet and disappeared into Maci's office.

Later that night a terrible sound drew Sofia from her room. Crying and hysterical screams came from Nik's room. "Sit still child before I actually hurt you." An electric buzzing met her ears and filled her imagination with all sorts of horrors.

A few moments later Maci left.

Sofia slipped into the room Maci had vacated and found a tragic sight. She sat on the bed as Nikolas sobbed into his knees. Sitting closer she could see his bald head was full of scabs and scars

"What...what happened? Why did Maci shave your hair off? Did you have lice?"

Nikolas sniffed and wiped his nose. "No I didn't have lice. I...I pull my own hair out."

"What? Why?"

"I don't know. Just...sometimes when I'm sad...it's easier...to feel that...instead of what's inside."

"Oh Nikolas...that's so sad."

He shrugged "I guess."

The next morning, Mathias cornered her in the hall. "What did you do to your hair?! You look like a frilled lizard!"

Sofia rolled her eyes and brushed past him as she made her way toward Nikolas. He eyed her warily as she approached "Is this your idea of a joke?"

"I don't know what it's like to experience that much pain but...I'm here if you need a friend."

Nik smiled, "I liked it better long."

"I liked yours better long too, so let's grow it out together okay?"

That was the moment Nikolas Layne Pearson fell in love with just Sofia

1961 Pt1 - The Black Lantern

Thomas was usually the first to wake up and he was never happy about it. It was the only time he made a ruckus because he thought the pain in his tummy meant he was dying and maybe this time mommy wouldn't give him the antedote. Once she did all was right again.

Well it was right for Thomas anyway, for Sofia it was a different story. What went in had to come out and that morning it was coming out both directions. Sofia took a deep breath, being a mom was far from glamorous and Thomas liked to remind her of that far more often then Ava had.

Sofia hurried to give her son a bath, knowing she was running out of time to get Ava breakfast and get her to the bus stop. Thomas splashed in the water happily.

"Oh it's just too hard to rush you. You're just too cute."

He laughed as she sprinkled water over his head.

While Ava was bathing Thomas, Nikolas let himself in and grabbed breakfast for Ava.

"Mommy, Mr. Nik said to tell you, you stink and need a shower."

Nik swallowed hard and didn't look at Sofia.

"Did he?"

"Yup and you should listen. He might put you in jail if you don't."

"Feel better?"

"Yeah. Thanks. I didn't realize how bad I'd gotten."

Nik reached out for the baby and Thomas didn't fuss as he exchanged hands. Sofia was shocked that he took to Nik. "Wait, he's letting you hold him?"

"I guess he likes me"

"He doesn't even like when I hold him"

It took nearly a year but Nik and Kye were finally able to convince Sofia to move back to Copperdale. She didn't want to move back in with her parents so Nik helped her find a studio apartment in Prescott Square that was already furnished and at a price she could manage

"I know it's small Sofia, but I think you'll like it here. Oasis Springs was full of ghosts, here you can have a fresh start, build new memories with the kids, get your life back."

He took the box from Sofia and set it on the stack but she didn't seem to be paying attention.

"I promise this is for the best Sofia. I know it doesn't feel like it now but...you need to move on."

"How? How does anyone move on from something like this?"

"You just keep taking it slow...and take baby steps when you can"

"I don't want to take baby steps, I want Jamal back"

"Jamal doesn't exist Sofia."

"Don't say that. Please don't say that. He was real to me. He was everything to me."

"I know, but none of it was real. I know you don't want to hear that or think about it but it doesn't change the fact that Jameson Reed lied to you."

Sofia held her head, fighting back tears and a migrane. "It's too much for me to process still. I have a son with him...but I'm not even allowed to see him."

"I told you he was taken to a high security facility. It's above even my paygrade."

"Then what's even the point of you!"

Hurt filled Nikolas' eyes

"No, Nik! That's not what I meant."

"It's fine Sofia. I get it. You loved him...you still do. I just think if you don't start calling him by his real name...you'll never be able to accept what he was or what he did to you."

"I think you should leave."

Once Nik was gone, Sofia grabbed a box from the stack and carried it to her bed. The apartment was still filled with little knicknacks from the previous owner. She'd fill the walls with pictures of her own. Make it feel like home...home...if any place could feel like that again.

She put the box on the floor and pulled out a photo album, her fingers tracing over Jamal's smiling face as she flipped through pictures of their life together. How could someone smile like that, say those words, kiss her so passionately...and not mean any of it?

A letter fell from the pages and she choked. The only letter he had ever sent her while she was in Copperdale before they'd been married. Nik had said Jamal...Jameson had bugged her. He'd probably known she was having doubts. Written what she needed to hear to keep her heart.

Her eyes scanned the words again and again and again until sleep took her and it slid from her fingers. She had believed he was different but he was just like Don...just like Mathias...just like every man who saw her and desired her and took what he wanted.

They were all the same.

Living above a bar with a mom who only had enough energy for her baby brother meant Ava's supervision was low. The landlord didn't seem to care she was there as long as she stayed out of trouble and she liked listening to the music a lot more than her mother crying.

"Wanna see my wiggly tooth?"

The drunk man grinned, "Sure!"

Ava gave the tooth a hard wiggle and gasped when something popped. "Ow!!" She glared at the offending tooth. "It came out! Now what do I do!?"

"Maybe you can fix it."

"Yeah. I should do that before mom gets mad!"

While Sofia slipped deeper into depression, Ava was doing her best to entertain herself and make friends. It wasn't easy for her to do. Everyone was so much better than her and she changed friends like some people changed their socks until one day she found a friend who stuck.

"Don't follow me! I can't take you home. I don't think the landlord will like it and our apartment is already small."

But the kitten had already found it's new conquest and it intended to win.

"I suppose you're small. Mom might not notice if you sleep on the roof and stay quiet."

So Ava brought her new friend home with her. She named him Catastrophe since it looked like he'd already been through a lot.

"You're just like me...except mommy says my scars are on the inside. Can you keep a secret? I have some big ones."

Soon Catastrophe knew of all Ava's scars
