@profanetools and @i-am-sharmat tagged me in the “love yourself challenge” to post my 5 favourite things I’ve created over the past year. thank you!!! :) :)
it hasn’t even been a year since I got back into writing so I don’t have much to choose from and I will not apologise for the fact that most of these are going to be about dumac and nerevar lol it’s my NICHE, my calling, if you will
1. Two Victories  - which is only 1/3 of the way done but I’m getting there... it’s about the beginning of the First Council alliance circa 1E 415/416 and mostly about how Nerevar and Dumac met within that context.
2. Dawn over West Gash - again, not finished, there’s going to be a second part (Almalexia! Nords! swords!) but whatever... Nerevar and Dumac wash each other’s hair. that’s it, that’s the premise.
3. For Every Moon, A Star - the first thing I wrote, my take on Nerevar and Almalexia’s wedding :)
4. Promise - such a short piece (written for Tesfemslash week earlier this year) but I still really like it. I was nervous about writing Almalexia and Kagrenac but I think I did an okay job. The origin story of Trueflame!
5. A drawing apart of curtains - silly inside joke with myself that ended up gaining way more significance in my head than it ever should have because I got sick while writing it and just lay in bed for a week fixated on the premise. Nerevar braids Dumac’s hair and reminisces about his childhood.
I also like that little prompt response about an assassination attempt against Voryn but I don’t have a link for that.... I’ll try to find it lol
thanks for tagging me, it’s fun to see everyone’s work gathered like this! I think all the writers I know have already done this or been tagged :) :)

“love yourself challenge”
rules: choose your 5 favourite works you created in the past year and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world. tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original)
tagged by @tonal-modulator and @violyd thanks!!!
I have written & created a lot this year. I got back into writing last August so there’s lots of things I’ve written that I like :)
1. hurricanes and solar flares / “Take my hand”
I wrote this fairly recently but I really loved it. This a Kagrenac/Bthemetz piece set very early in their relationship, neither a qualified tonal architect yet, just one depressed graduate student & one ancient revolutionary trapped outside of time and space, with the former teaching the latter to dance.
2. The Jagged Tea Set
First big thing I wrote about Bthemetz & Kagrenac together as a couple. I think this is a fun one to read knowing how things turn out between them in Twelve Tones. This was supposed to be one of a set of pieces where the focus was different Dwemer artefacts that were locked away in some vault in the 4th era - that project never manifested beyond two or three pieces, but the story here I really do like.
3. A Thesis: On Twelve Tones plucked from a still-beating heart.
this short story turned novella turned mini-novel that was supposed to be done in “October, November tops”, that was supposed to be the primer on Bthemetz & Kagrenac that spiralled out of control and also contains some of my best work to date is something that is very dear to me. I think the start is still a little lumpy and needs a do-over but I am very Fond. deeply Fond.
4. The Sword That Lies Between Them.
The Kagrenac/Almalexia fic that I always wanted to write. very ironic when what you consider your “most polished” piece of work this year is erotica you could never even dare show your mother. i think this is exceptionally well written depiction of a lesbian affair full of courtly intruge in a very emotionally charged situation & if you’re willing to deal with the fact that they have sex it’s really worth your while.
5. These two drawings of Bthemetz I drew while very frustrated with my inability to draw the arte goode:

no explanation necessary, i think.

Love yourself challenge
Rules: It’s time to love yourselves! Choose your 5 favourite works you created in the past year (fics, art, edits, etc. ) and link them below to reflect on the amazing things you brought into the world. Tag as many writers/artists/etc. as you want (fan or original) so we can spread the love and link each other to awesome works!
All right, I’m going to try to do this <3 Tagged by @nemenalya, thank you :)
1) I think the biggest accomplishment and one I’m most proud of, for sure, this past year has been finally setting up my own writing site/blog/portal whatever. It has been a big step for me, I think, and a good compromise I was looking for as someone who is trying to get published/work on my original writing but not entirely abandoning my fanfiction endeavors altogether.
So yes, there is that.
2) Secondly, finally being able to start putting up scraps and bits and pieces of my first original magnum opus lol. Well, I sure hope it will turn out like that, I put a lot thought, research and effort into it.
Excerpt from “The Brass Serpent”.
3) Well, of course, I can’t forget my many-suffering fanfiction “The Fountain of Forgetfulness”, which has undergone a lot of transformation over the years, growing from a “60K at best project” I tried tor fun into an epic saga with no end in sight.
I mean all parts of my writing are very dear to me, same with re-writing it, but I think I’m particularly fond of how Chapter 7: Only by Fate turned out, it was probably my favorite to re-write so far.
4) Since I don’t think I created that many things this year, I’ll name my short stories for the last 2.
“The Other Side of a Destiny” (that also happens to exist in an amazing Russian translation now) - a kind of a fun little side story to TFOF, inspired by Victor Hugo’s quote from “Les Miserables” about men who are born two-sided, whose lives are not their own, and whose destiny belongs to someone else, someone they follow to their doom. (And also Peakstar’s words about how Dagoth Ur’s fall was caused by his loyal service to Nerevar, that quote kills me every time).
5) And, lastly, “Long is the Arm of Boethiah” - another fun side story to TFOF about circumstances surrounding Almalexia’s and Nerevar’s wedding (my version of it) and formation of the First Council.
Tagging whoever was not tagged yet and also @dscgsghost @nehti @tintael @herrdrosslemeyer  @fiorushka @irathindur don’t think anyone tagged them yet :)

Anyone who doubts Azura is a villainous character, needs not look further than Peakstar. That girl was clearly not made for war, yet she was made to go through Azura’s dumb prophecies just in case she might fit and died in the process for nothing. :/
