" I vow to be true to the name of NAMOR, which means " avenging son " ! " The child without love " ! I shall never rest till the insolent human race has paid for its crimes against our people ! Now rise, and pledge me your hearts, your hands, your lives ! LΓikβik Talokan ! "

Doom is perceived to be God like the father before him but in reality, the father was never β God β he was just a primordial being that created the known dimensions and all the life in it. He is seen as God because people must have a name to something and see it as divine, when in reality, the father was an all powerful entity that spawned everything into existence. Orion inherits this power and by all means is God in the eyes of humans - he fits the description of how humans view God, but heβs not actually a God. Heβs an all powerful being capable of creating planets and dimensions on a whim and he is omniscient, but heβs not the perfect image of any singular God.
True theyβre both beings beyond comprehension - itβs easier for humans to label them as God when their existence surpasses all known understanding. The father was taken away and reduced to an AI by his own seraphim, and Orion still chooses to remain as he is despite all the power he has now. The father chose to have Orionβs life lead up to the very moment of his β ascension β, to replace Davoth and inherit this mantle of omnipotence - to be a protector of not just one realm, but every single dimension thatβs ever been created. Itβs all about choice, but in Orionβs case, he had little say in his fate. Everything he worked towards had culminated to that moment - by human definition, the father and Orion are God(s) but they truly arenβt.
Orion is inherently flawed. He is a benevolent being, fully capable of being loving and nurturing - but he can hate as much as he can love. His existence is black and white, torn between the angelic and the demonic with the primeval in the center - by inheriting the fatherβs mantle, he gains a balance, but only in body. He is still torn between two parts of himself - What remains of William, that mostly makes up Orion and his capability of benevolence, and the part he created to survive - the brutal being that craves ultraviolence and revels in battle. In a humanβs perception of God, Godβs perfect. Orion is not perfect.
