Eveningstar, she/her, (former) leader of SunClan

The leader of SunClan before Applestar. She basically rebuilt SunClan from the ground up after an unspecified disaster.

First impressions of her are generally that she's nice, soft, happy, and compassionate. However she's a lot tougher beneath the surface. She takes her job as leader extremely seriously, and views it as a position of servitude towards her clan and an obligation to support the clan and her clanmates at any cost. She believes that the survival and happiness of the clan can only come from hard work and dedication, and while she thinks that every individual is integral to the working of the whole and that second chances are important, she also won't hesitate to condemn someone who has proven themself to be a bad apple.

Beyond her job, she also has a mate and a son-figure. Her mate was Appledapple (her deputy, who is now Applestar after Eveningstar's death), and Appledapple's apprentice, Redfur, was like a son to both of them.

I do really love thinking about mentor-apprentice relationships and am kinda sad that they don’t often get a lot of focus in the books. Like,, a cats mentor was an integral part of their life and their development growing up!! Let that show in their relationship!!!

Rabbitfoot, he/him, warrior of RainClan

Willowspots' former apprentice, and her choice of deputy when she becomes leader.

Rabbitfoot enjoys the simple life; hunt, patrol, hang out with friends, repeat. Deputy is not a position he would actively pursue, but he has a strong sense of responsibility and of right and wrong. When saddled with the job, he felt an obligation to stick with it especially because he felt like he couldn't just abandon the responsibility to RainClan of "fixing Willowstar's messes".

Suffice it to say he doesn't get along well with Willowspots. She was never cut out to be responsible for kids, and her whole mentorship over Rabbitfoot was a mess. Over time he's grown frustrated and resentful over the way she treats him and of her choices (especially leadership choices after she becomes leader). Willowspots is either oblivious or uncaring of Rabbitfoot's bitterness towards her.

Emerald, she/her, medicine cat of RainClan

A kittypet turned medicine cat. She used to live on a farm next to RainClan, but eventually her owner's passed away and someone else moved into the farm. Emerald decided to head off and live with the wild cats instead of staying. She was kind of apprehensive though, as she was getting kind of old and she probably wouldn't fit in and there wouldn't be anything she could do to help them. But as soon as she learned about medicine cats she immediately claimed the role. She already had some experience with certain herbs and cures from her farm, and could teach the clan some new tricks.

She did try to befriend Wolfpaw (the current and only RainClan medicine cat), with little success. She was always happy to learn new things from him, but quickly figured out that he didn't like the idea of others knowing more than him and with some amusement she held off trying to teach him her own tricks.

Emerald grew to be really fond of Wolfpaw/tail and does regard him similar to a kid or grandkid. Though Wolftail would much rather she regard him as a co-worker. As an equal.
