Some New Old OCs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Three OCs that I haven't talked much about!
Daniela Alexander-Defoe | Gothika: Queen Amazonia's (Merida Alexander) wife. She's a Heroine based in America and works as a lawyer as well. She used to be called Spectre but I decided to change both her name and powers because I have enough ghost girlies.
Darlene Amelia "Dolly" Starr | Starlight Ranger: One of my original American hero OCs. Dolly's got a new look and some new powers too. She's still the same as she's always been, though.
Elizabeth Oshiro | Duchess: I've mentioned her a bit in the past on my main but now she's got a full ref. Liz is the founder and owner of the Miss Maid Cafe.

Raiterasu Amarai / Thunderwave
Raiterasu Amarai is the adopted daughter of Raihan Amarai and the adopted granddaughter of Raiden Amarai. She wishes to reclaim her rightful place among the Storm Dynasty, and bring honor to her family name. Her Gift is Thunder (Tonitrokinesis: thunder manipulation), a gift that is no match for the Storm Dynasty not in terms of power but in terms of danger if unregulated.
Raiterasu is a very serious individual, and very focused on her goal of re-entering the Storm Dynasty. She doesn't crack jokes, and doesn't take horseplay kindly. Her coworkers refer to her as having a stick up her ass, which while is true does not begin to explain the bitterment and resentment that boils under her skin.
Her main source of anger comes from the fact that instead of getting her grandfather the clear and obvious help he needed or asking him what was wrong, they exiled him (for a good reason, she will admit, but they let it get to that point).

Miss Maid Cafe
Tumblr media
The Miss Maid Cafe is one of the many major locations in the universe of The Heroes. It is a cafe where the workers (who are usually female or female presenting) dress up as maids. It is owned by the Elegance Hero - Duchess. They have a strict "Look but don't touch and no skirt peeking" policy.
History
Duchess originally opened the cafe as a place where college students could find easy but high paying work. There was no maid theme in the beginning until a worker suggested that there be costume days on a survey. Duchess approved and was surprised that her employees came dressed as maids the next day.
The maid costumes turned out to be a hit with both the customers and the employees so Duchess kept the idea.

Minamoto Law, LLC
Minamoto Law, LLC is a law firm that specializes in hero defense as well as being lawyers for heroes. It is one of the top hero law firms after its newest owner Touka defeated the HPSC in a wrongful infraction lawsuit.
History
The office was founded by Touka's father, a regular attorney. They didn't really take on hero defense up until Touka was in her senior year of high school. When his daughter expressed interest in law, Mr. Minamoto named her his successor and heir to the law firm. After graduating law school, Touka was handed ownership of the firm by her father.
Under her leadership, they began as a typical hero defense firm, providing defense for heroes who had committed infractions, fighting suspension of their license, and more. They weren't really a big name and never thought about being one until one day.
Stormchaser, Touka's friend, came to the office in need of help. She had received an infraction for something that was technically in her rights as a hero to do and was facing a suspension of her license. Her opponent? The HPSC.
With their owner on the case, it led to one of the biggest David vs Goliath cases in the hero industry, with Touka and Stormchaser being the victors.

Marie Lee-Shifukukan
Marie Lee-Shifukukan, born Eun-mi Lee, is a Korean-Canadian engineer at Toronto Support Labs. She's the one who made a majority of the support equipment for all the Canadian Heroes.
She is married to Cloud Nine (Karly Shifukukan) and has a son named Skylar.
Description
Tumblr media
Marie is a short, fat woman with a round face, tanned skin, and dark brown eyes. Her hair is dyed teal and is her natural black at the roots. On her left (or right) eyebrow is a silver piercing. She can commonly be seen with a large pair of black goggles with dark green lenses resting atop her head.
Marie tends to dress in a very stereotypically masculine manner with tank tops/wife beaters, flannels, etc. There are times where she's been mistaken for a man.
Personality
Brash, tough, and loud, Marie is a natural born wild child. With the mouth of a sailor and a big attitude, she makes herself stand out and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Firing back at negative comments, standing her ground during arguments, even not being afraid to fight, she's the poster child for a headstrong rebel. Marie is also not afraid to tease or joke on others, as she does with Soregum (@floof-ghostie).
As an engineer, Marie is one of the best in both her city and Canada. She puts a lot of passion and grit into making support items for the heroes of her home, including her wife. With her works being high demand and highly praised, so much so that there have been talks of promoting her to the head of the support labs.
Despite being a busy bee, she always makes time for her wife Cloud Nine and son Skylar. Marie sometimes brings Skylar to work with her and has a little playpen she built for him to play in.
History
Marie was born in Busan, South Korea. Her parents owned a small convenience store before selling it in preparation to move to Canada. When she was 2 years old, Marie moved to Canada and adopted her name.
Growing up, Marie had a complicated relationship with her femininity. She never really fit in with other girls because gravitated towards more traditionally masculine things and dressed like a boy. Part of her felt like a boy but didn't want to be one. This made her feel disconnected from most girls her age.
Things got worse for her when her father became permanently disabled after getting into a car accident, leaving Marie's mother to be the breadwinner.
Marie discovered she was a lesbian in high school. She had trouble coming to terms with her newfound sexuality as well as telling her parents. To cope with her struggles, Marie would build things with used car parts from the local junkyard. She used engineering as an outlet to her problems both at home and at school.
What started as a way to cope then became something that Marie was genuinely passionate about. It also helped her come to terms with both her gender and her sexuality. After graduating high school, Marie applied for college to major in engineering.
While there, she met her future wife Karly and they started dating before eventually getting married and having their son Skylar.
Relationships
Karly Shifukukan | Cloud Nine
Marie is a Human, therefore she doesn't have powers like Karly and Skylar.
Marie and Karly are very much in love and always have been. They contrast each other in all the right ways.
Abilities
Master Engineer: Marie is one of the best engineers in the world of the Giftedverse. She's built a myriad of devices from any type of material, mostly from car parts.
Mechanical Intellect: Marie is very intelligent when it comes to machines and their elements. She can tell what something is made of and how it works just by examining it.
Strength: While she doesn't have super strength, Marie is considerably strong due to all the work she does in the lab. From lifting heavy objects to screwing in bolts, Marie has some incredible arm, upper body, and leg strength.

Storm Dynasty
The Storm Dynasty, formally known as the Dynasty of Five Storms, is a hero family that consists of five subsidiary families: the Amarai, Kumosuku, Yukigumo, Yukimura, and Yokoshiro families. All five are descendants of Susanoo, one of the first Heroes.
History
Susanoo was one of the world's first Heroes in the early days and had five children-- two boys and three girls-- with his wife Amaya. Despite the bad optics from having a civilian wife, Susanoo remained married to Amaya until his death.
When the children came of age, Susanoo trained them in the art of "being one with the weather" since they all inherited variations of his weather based Gift. Both Susanoo and Amaya knew the key to keeping their legacy alive was by building a strong and powerful family.
When they became adults, Susanoo's children honored their father by following in his footsteps and becoming Heroes. They would also go on to create the five different hero families that make up the dynasty via their marriages.
Susanoo and Amaya's five children were as follows:
Ooarashi, Susanoo's eldest son, would keep his family name of Amarai, thus becoming the second ancestor of the Amarai family. His Gift was called Raging Storm.
Seppen, Susanoo's eldest daughter and Ooarashi's twin, would marry a man with the last name of Yukigumo and become the ancestress of the Yukigumo clan. Her Gift was Snowflake.
Kohyo, the 2nd daughter, would marry a man with the surname of Yukimura and become the ancestor of the Yukimura family. Her Gift was Hailstorm.
Soyokaze, his second son and second youngest child, would take his wife's surname of Kumosuku, thus creating the Kumosuku family. His Gift was Breeze.
Nettaishi, the last child, would go on to become the ancestor of the Yokoshiro clan after her marriage. Her Gift was Tropical Storm.
Ooarashi wanted to establish himself as the overall leader of the entire family, but Seppen wouldn't allow it. Instead, she propose a more centralized way of running the family where each has a select group of leaders that would meet with the others and decide on important matters. The other children agreed and adopted this system.
As time went on, the number of Susanoo's descendants rose and the family was singlehandedly responsible for the increase in the population of weather based Gifts. At some point, some members of the family began to seek out and marry others that had similar Gifts to increase the power of their child's Gift.
Notable Members
Susanoo & Amaya - The founder of the dynasty and their common ancestor. Like how respected Mother Nature is in the Yamaniwa family, Susanoo and Amaya are also highly respected and regarded by their descendants.
Ooarashi, Seppen, Kohyo, Soyokaze, and Nettaishi - The children of Susanoo and Amaya as well as the secondary ancestors of the five families.
Aozora Amarai | Blue Sky - Aozora is the former patriarch of the Amarai family and a former Hero. He's the father of Rainmaker (Hirosora Amarai), Thunderstormer (Raiden Amarai), and more. Aozora's married to Downpour (Mizuko Amarai).
Hirosora Amarai/Rainmaker - Hirosora is the eldest son of Blue Sky (Aozora Amarai). He's Japan's former top heroes and the father of Heroes Stormchaser (Oya Mejia) and SolFlare (Akihiro Amarai). He is also the grandfather of Tenki Mejia.
Raiden Amarai | Thunderstormer - Raiden is the second son of Aozora and father of Thunderboom (Raihan Amarai). He was exiled after attempting to attack an elder during one of the family's tournaments and lost one of his eyes in the attack.
Raiha Kumosuku/Nimbus - The father of Sunny (Skyward) and Brisa (Zephyrine) Kumosuku. He's a very loud and jolly man who loves his wife and daughters. Raiha's the one responsible for Raiden's missing eye as the elder he attempted to attack was Raiha's own father.
Tobio Akiyama/Sky High - Raiha's older brother and the late father of Aether (Tobiko Akiyama) and Fujin (Hiten Akiyama). He was the only one of his family to take his spouse's surname. Tobio unfortunately lost his life in the line of duty (or did he...?👀) when Aether and Fujin were in middle school.
Fuyuko Yukimura | Ice Angel - The mother of Adlartok and Arashi Yukimura. She was the first of the newer generation Yukimuras to marry a man with similar powers to her when she met her husband Aput while on a mission in the United States.
Byakuya Yukigumo | White (K)Night - The father of Fubuki and Shiroyuki Yukigumo. Byakuya's the hard ass of his family and is known to be pretty stubborn and rebellious. He met his wife Pauletta when he went to America during a rebellious phase.
Koyo Yokoshiro | Sun King - The father of Jayda and Jayden Yokoshiro. Just as arrogant and overconfident as his son, it's no wonder that Koyo is considered insufferable by some of his family members.
Oya Mejia | Stormchaser - Oya is the daughter of Hirosora and his wife Uche aka Sunstar. She works as a Hero and journalist based in Mexico with her husband Chargeman (Chuso Mejia) and daughter Tenki.
Others: Akihiro Amarai | SolFlare, Jayden & Jayda Yokoshiro, Fubuki Yukigumo, Shiroyuki Yukigumo | Winter Wonder, Raihan Amarai | Thunderboom, Komiko Kumosuku | Lady Rain, Raimori Kumosuku | Skybolt

Takarano Clan
The Takarano clan is one of the major heroic royal families in the world of the Giftedverse. Their dominant Gift is Jewelry Box, which allows for the manipulation of both gemstones and jewelry. Originating from Japan, they are descendants of two of the first Heroes in the world: Diamondhelm and Meta.
The family also owns both Takarano Incorporated, a Heroes equipment company, and Takarano Jewellers, a jewelry company.
Origins
During the beginning days of heroics, Diamondhelm and Meta were two of the first to legally become Heroes.
Diamondhelm's Gift to manipulate gemstones and cover himself in a strong crystalline armor while Meta's was manipulation of metals. The two were crime fighting partners until eventually becoming lovers.
Diamondhelm and Meta married in secret with her taking his last name of Takarano. A few years later, they had three children: triplets Ruri (Lazuli), Rubi (Lady Ruby), and Ogon (Master Gold)-- birthing the first generation of Takaranos.
When Ruri and Rubi's Gifts manifested, it was discovered that both Diamondhelm and Meta's Gifts had mixed to create a unique one, Jewelry Box. Ogon had his mother's Gift, but only with gold instead of all metals.
Ruri, Rubi, and Ogon continued in their parents heroic footsteps as they got older and became famous Heroes in their own rights. When they had their own children, it was discovered that they'd all inherited Jewelry Box whether as a Primary Gift or Secondary Gift.
As generations went on, Jewelry Box would sometimes merge with a Takarano's partner's Gift and create an entirely new one (i.e. Splendor's Midas Touch, Hime's Princess, Seisai's Brilliance) while others didn't inherit it at all; instead either getting Diamondhelm or Meta's powers.
While heroics was good, it wasn't paying the bills. Kintetsu Takarano, son of Lazuli and her husband Tomihiko Matsumoto, came up with an idea. Using the massive trust fund his father left him, Kintetsu used it to establish two companies: Takarano Incorporated and Takarano Jewellers. Takarano Inc would provide machinery and technology to mine diamonds and other gemstones which would then be used in Takarano Jewellers's pieces. However, the jewels would be enhanced using their Jewelry Box Gift.
The idea proved to be a massive success after a few ups and downs, and soon the family started raking in millions upon millions of dollars. Kintetsu was cited as the founder and first president of Takarano Incorporated while he handed control of Takarano Jewellers to his sister Shinju.
As heroics boomed and the demand for equipment became louder and louder, the family saw a new market they could enter. As for heroics itself, the family continued to become heroes with Kintetsu's cousins all being some.
In a bid to rebrand themselves as an equipment company, Takarano Inc held a "talent fair" for young and talented inventors from both Japan and around the world could come and showcase their talents. Several contestants and winners would later become employees at the company.
Within a few years after their rebrand, Takarano Inc became a top source for heroic equipment in both Japan and abroad. Kintetsu, knowing that greedy businessmen would try to get their hands on his hard earned fortune, created a clause in the deed to the company that said only a Takarano or either partner(s) can run the businesses before he died.
As technology advanced, Takarano Jewellers became one of the first companies to invest in lab grown jewels. They partnered with a lab specializing in the practice and began producing jewelry pieces with lab grown diamonds.
Notable Members
Diamondhelm & Meta: The ancestors of the Takarano clan. They were two of the first Heroes in the world.
Lazuli, Lady Ruby, & Master Gold: The first generation of Takaranos and the children of Meta and Diamondhelm.
Kintetsu Takarano: Kintetsu is the son of Lazuli and the founder of both Takarano Incorporated and Takarano Jewellers. Kintetsu was a business genius who made sure that his family would be set and secured for life.
Hiroko Takarano | Queen Diamond: The mother of Akitsugu Takarano and his siblings, as well as the great grandmother of Splendor, Hime Takarano, Seisai Hoshokura, Metalika, Crown, and more. She served as the family matriarch until her death. Hiroko personally trained her great grandchildren and other descendants.
Splendor's first daughter Hiroko Hitsugaya is named after her.
Akitsugu Takarano | Crystallo: The father of Glitz (Kimi Takarano) and Queen Jewel (Shiho Hoshokura) by his wife Josephina Prins Takarano. He's deceased by the time the canon happens but is remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
Akitsugu Hitsugaya, Splendor's 3rd son, is named after her late grandfather.
Kimi Takarano | Glitz & Shiho Hoshokura | Queen Jewel: The only children of Akitsugu and Josephina Takarano as well as the mothers of Splendor and Hime Takarano (Kimi) and Seisai Hoshokura (Shiho). The two actually owned an agency together before Shiho left to become a hero teacher. Kimi has retired from heroics while Shiho works as a professor at Monarch University, rival school to Templar.
Joou Hitsugaya | Splendor: The eldest daughter of Glitz and her husband Fan Zhìháo. She's quite successful in her own right as a fashion designer despite being the heir to two multimillion dollar companies.
Hime Takarano: Splendor's younger sister and Glitz's second daughter. A senior at Templar College of Heroics, Hime is determined to live up to her family's heroic legacy while also forging her own path.
Seisai Hoshokura: Shiho and Keizo Hoshokura's only daughter. Her and her cousin Hime were born only a few days apart from each other, thus making them the same age. She also attends Templar College of Heroics.
Philomena Steele | Metalika: Philomena is the daughter of Kanako Takarano and Sir Harrison Steele. The only way people identify her as Takarano is because of the two beauty marks - a common trait among the family. While her name on paper is Philomena Takarano since her parents divorced, she goes by her birth since she doesn't have the best relationship with her mother.
Kingsley Steele: Son of Kanako and Sir Steele, Kingsley is living his best life. Unlike his sister, he makes it known that he's a member of the Takarano family and wears his mother's maiden name with pride. While he does retain some relationship with his father, the two haven't really talked ever since the divorce.
Tiara Takarano | Crown Jewel: Tiara is the eldest daughter of Toshihiro Takarano and Madison Sinclair Takarano. Another who is simply living their best life. There's some tension between her and Splendor because while their both mixed race (Tiara is Japanese and Black Irish), Tiara has never really been bullied the way Joou was and she doesn't see that as fair (though she doesn't blame Tiara).
Shiroya Takarano | White Queen: Shiroya is the eldest daughter of Kosei Takarano and Adila Al-Yasiri. After sustaining a serious injury, Shiroya is on a hiatus from heroics until she fully recovers. She currently resides in France with her husband Silverwing (Émilien Hanegin).
Tetsuhiko Takarano | Masamune: Tetsuhiko is Shiroya's younger brother. He lives in his sister's shadow and it pisses him off. He uses his image as a super macho hero as a way to compensate for his inferiority complex.

Tenshi Zokukurai
Tenshi Zokukurai, codenamed Heavenly Heroine: Angelina and later to Archangel, is one of the main characters of the Giftedverse. She is a student in Miss Parker's class. She is the younger sister of Archangel.
Description
Tumblr media
Tenshi is a short, fat college aged Japanese woman with pale skin, white hair, and gold eyes. Her hair is naturally curly. All over her body are gold freckles. Tenshi has an angelic appearance with a halo floating above her head, feathers in place of ears, and a pair of golden wings with red and yellow layers.
Two things she wears no matter what are the necklace she got on her 17th birthday and Gargoyle's (@calciumcryptid) scarf.
Personality
Kind and caring, Tenshi is someone many people find pleasant. She has a cheery, upbeat attitude and is quite energetic. Despite all that's she's been through in her personal life, she remains hopeful and optimistic. She knows there are many people out there who will try to crush her spirit but she will never let them.
She is naturally empathetic and feels things deeply (when others cry, she cries too). It's easy for her to sympathize with other people and relate to their struggles or feelings-- especially if it's something she's also experienced.
Despite always bring willing to lend a helping hand, Tenshi knows that not everyone can be redeemed; but also knows there are a lot of people who do deserve a second chance.
Do not mistake Tenshi's kindness for weakness. She can and will stand up for herself and others when the time comes for it and doesn't hold back her anger either.
History
Tenshi was born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture to Rentaro Zokukurai and Amako Tenhou. Tenshi had a relatively normal childhood save for the fact that her and her older brother Tensen weren't close. In fact, he outright rejected her when she was brought home from the hospital.
Growing up, Tenshi had a huge admiration for heroines and wanted to be just like them. One heroine she was a huge fan of was Glimmeria because she was strong and brave but kind. Whenever there was coverage of one of her battles on TV, Tenshi was there to watch it.
She showed potential for incredible power at a young age and a doctor's appointment revealed that she had a combination of Rentaro's Angel and Amako's Phoenix Gifts. Both her parents helped Tenshi gain control of her powers by training her.
Tensen's cruelty and mistreatment towards her grew as she got older, particularly whenever she expressed getting stronger. This behavior prompted their parents to send Tenshi away to her aunt Sachie out of fear for her safety. Tenshi returned home after Tensen left for college.
On the night of her 17th birthday, Tenshi was gifted a necklace by her parents with a picture of the three of them inside. That would be one of the last times she'd see them alive.
In the evening hours of the day after, Tensen broke into their house and attacked Rentaro. Amako and Tenshi quickly escaped and headed to Sachie's house. However, Tensen caught up with them and attempted to kill his younger sister.
Amako interfered and told Tenshi to hurry to Sachie's house. When Tenshi got there, all she could do was cry.
In the early morning hours of the next day, police found the bodies of Rentaro and Amako. Sachie was granted custody of Tenshi since she was still a minor. In the wake of her parents' deaths, Tenshi received a letter from her idol Glimmeria telling her to be strong and honor her parents memories.
This drove Tenshi to further push herself to become a Hero and she applied for Templar College of Heroics towards the end of her senior year.
Gifts
Holy Angel
Tenshi is a hybrid of an angel and a phoenix, combining both her parents Quirks. She has an angelic appearance and powers including purification, light based powers, and flight. She is also able to use her halo as a boomerang.
Some of her phoenix based powers (from her mother's side) include fire mimicry, a small but fast healing factor (not regenerative though), and fire manipulation. When both powers combine, Tenshi's might seems limitless.
While she is incapable of using her plumage as blades similar to her brother, she can use them to pick up far away sounds and to create shockwaves by flapping her wings with enough force.
Relationships
Tensen Zokukurai | Archangel
Tenshi has nothing but contempt and anger towards her brother. Not only did he kill their parents with no remorse, but he did it all because he was jealous that she was more powerful than him. She knew he would come after her one of these days and prepared herself to be ready to face him.
After Tensen is defeated, Tenshi takes his hero name for herself. When she learns he was killed before he could stand trial, she feels nothing about it and says he deserved it.
Hishi Tenhou | Phoenix
Tenshi sees Hishi as more of a brother than she ever did Tensen. The two have a great relationship and Hishi has always been there to support her alongside his mother and cousin Akisada.
Akisada Zokukurai | Nephilim
Akisada also acts like a big brother to Tenshi. He looks out for her and supports her whenever he can. They have a good relationship.
Emma Seiza
Tenshi and Emma are best friends since they both came to Eden Island for heroics training. The two first talked at orientations when Emma noticed that Tenshi had a Glimmeria charm on her bag. They then ran into each other again during the entrance ceremony and that's when they really began talking. Emma praised Tenshi on how strong she was during the beta combat trials and said she looked forward to sparring her one day.
Since then, they've been joined at the hip. They do a lot together alongside the other girls in both their class and year.
Ritsumi Tatsumaki
Ritsumi and Tenshi originally started out as roommates but soon progressed into friends. At first Tenshi was a bit put off by Ritsumi's hyperactive nature but came to appreciate it over time.
Gaultier "Gargoyle" Caulderfield (@calciumcryptid)
Tenshi's boyfriend and future husband. Ever since the day he saw her across the courtyard with some friends of hers, she's been the subject of some of his paintings. He's the one who made the Renaissance level painting that she has in her room, which was presented to her shortly before he broke a window and flew off in embarrassment.
Quetzalli Rosario Solano (@opalofoctober)
Ever since Quetzalli laid her eyes on Tenshi, she has been itching to have her as a trainee. She finds Tenshi absolutely adorable and would love to have her as a sidekick in the near future.
Hoshi Akiraka | Aureole (@floof-ghostie)
Aureole was Tenshi's freshman year mentor.

Joou Hitsugaya |Splendor
Joou Hitsugaya, known professionally as Luxurious Heroine: Splendor, is a Japanese Hero, businesswoman, and fashion designer. She is signed to the Heroes Association and operates her headquarters in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is the current president of Takarano Incorporated after her father retired.
Description
Tumblr media
Joou is a woman in her late twenties with curly hair, dark brown eyes, and full lips. A common trait among her family are their two beauty marks-- one near the eye and the other near the lips. She was born albino, which makes her look even more different than she already does. She has a curvy body with wide hips from having three children.
Joou never wears the same hero costume
Personality
Joou can be described as a diamond; beautiful but cold and hard. She freely expresses her opinions and independence without regard for what others may think and/or say. She's built up a reputation for being her "own best friend" as she shows great confidence in both herself and her abilities. Joou's unapologetic in who she is and what she stands for.
On the surface, Joou is the perfect businesswoman. Ambitious, straightforward, and strategic with boundless intelligence. Joou's what the definition of "girlboss" should be. Many in her field look up to her as what they should be like and aspire to reach her level of success.
While she is really like that, it's also a mask to hide who she really is.
Joou is extremely hardcore when it comes to keeping people outside of family at an emotional distance. Not because she hates people or is emotionally stunted, in fact quite the opposite-- it's her defense mechanism. She has trust issues that run so deep that not even Joou knows if she'll ever be able to recover from them. It has earned her a reputation as a recluse.
Joou carries herself as mature and levelheaded while on duty as a Hero. She deals with criminals accordingly and humanely as possible. She stays focused on her mission and doesn't let many things distract her.
Though she has her own critiques of her job: she's a vocal opponent of the heavy emphasis on brute force rather than strategy and technique as well as all the "public duties" that come with her contract.
When around her family, Joou shows a much different side of herself. A warmer, more open side of herself that many don't see. Joou is a loving and caring mother to her children, and a good wife to her husband Irefumi. She is especially close to her younger sister Hime and does her best to be someone that Hime can aspire to be.
History
Joou was born Joou Takarano to Fan Zhìháo, a Taiwanese businessman, and the heroine Glitz (Kimi Takarano) in Japan. The eldest of two children, Joou lived a life that many dreamed of as both of her parents were very wealthy-- her and her mother being descendants of the Takarano clan.
However it was no dream for her not only because of her mixed race heritage subjected her to bullying and ostracism by her peers, but also her albinism. To make matters worse, her body made her even more of a target after she hit puberty.
Wanting their daughter to have some semblance of a normal childhood free of bullying, Zhìháo and Kimi sent her to live with her aunt Shiho and uncle Keizo who were residing in America at the time.
While there, she gained a new perspective of protecting herself by distancing herself from others. She realized didn't need to others to know or value her worth when she could do that herself; thus adopting her philosophy of being able to only rely on oneself when others reject you.
During her stay, she was homeschooled before returning back to Japan shortly before middle school. Upon returning home, Joou went on the defensive and began isolating herself from other kids. She knew people didn't like or respect her but kept her head high and carried on. Joou became entirely self sufficient, making her stand out from other students.
Joou has always wanted to be a hero, but her interest was never too strong until one day. A teacher made a comment about her Gifts lacking force and strength, implying that Joou could never become a hero with her powers. Those words made her realize that most heroes relied solely on power instead alternatives. It also drove her to train and hone her Gifts by relying on techniques and strategies rather than sheer force.
Eventually Joou enrolled at the same elite hero college her mom went to on Eden Island. During her freshman and sophomore years, she was briefly engaged to another student there but broke up with him as she wasn't attracted to him romantically.
At one point during her sophomore year of college, Joou had began to see her body in a positive light after so many years. That ended, however, when someone leaked explicit photos of her to a magazine and they ended up on the front cover. Enraged and humiliated, Joou transferred to another school in her home of Japan and never returned to Eden Island. She finished her heroic studies there and graduated with full honors.
After graduating, Joou signed on to the Heroes Association and took the codename Splendor in reference to her Midas Touch Gift. She quickly rose to be one of their most unique heroes as she prioritized more technical skills rather than sheer brute force.
During an undercover mission at a jewelry auction in Brazil, she met her future husband Inkstain (Irefumi Hitsugaya) and eventually married him.
Relationships
Irefumi Hitsugaya | Inkstain
Irefumi is the love of Joou's life and the first man she's ever been romantically attracted to. Despite standing on opposite sides of heroism, they love each other dearly. Irefumi is the first to see that Joou isn't just a body, but a person with her own goals, ambitions, and thoughts. He's also the first person to treat her with genuine respect, something Joou never experienced before.
In turn, Joou provides them with love and support by adopting a few of their punk beliefs. This is her first real relationship so she's quite nervous on how's she being a good wife to Irefumi.
Joou has no desire to keep her relationship a secret from her bosses, and they don't have a choice but to accept lest they want to incur the wrath (and lawyers) of her family.
Hime Takarano
Joou and Hime have a lot in common: they're both ambitious, strong willed, and intelligent. Hime is the more social one, however, so her older sister doesn't have to be.
It obvious that Joou wants to be a good role model for her younger sister seeing as she herself didn't have many growing up. She makes it known that she's proud of everything Hime has accomplished so far. Everytime she talks about Hime, it's always with loving pride and respect.
Fan Zhìháo & Kimi Takarano | Glitz
Joou has nothing short of love, respect, and admiration for her parents who worked hard and raised her well. She knew they did their best to give her the best life.
Gifts
Jewelry Manipulation/Midas Touch
Joou has the power to telepathically manipulate the properties of jewelry (i.e. hardness, luster, etc). This includes being able to turn a pair of diamond earrings into mini lasers or turning a necklace into a makeshift flashlight. She later awakens the ability to transfer their properties onto herself whenever she is in gem or metal form.
Midas Touch, Joou's primary Gift, allows her to transform jewelry of all kinds into any weapon she desires. Despite being a rather weak Gift on paper, Joou has found ways to maximize its abilities thanks to her usage of techniques and strategies.
Ferrokinesis (Metal Manipulation)
Another one of Joou's major powers is her ferrokinesis. She can telepathically manipulate all metals as she pleases; though the sources must be external. While this ability is useful, it's also very mentally taxing on her so she rarely uses it.
Gemstone Mimicry
Splendor has the power to cover her body in a durable gemstone skin that she can breathe, eat, and even move in. This ability was awakened as a response to trauma. She can also adapt a certain gemstone's properties onto herself in this form.
Metal Mimicry
One of Joou's lesser used forms; she can cover herself in a metal skin that allows her to still function properly. The only reason that it's less used is because of how painful and draining the process of transforming into it is.
Technopathy
Splendor can physically "link" herself to any form of technology and control it as she wishes-- all with a simple touch. She can even override systems and inhibitors. When this happens, gold colored circuit lines appear on her body.

Phoebe Seiza (later Phoebe Seiza Liu), or Selen, is a character in the Giftedverse. Phoebe is sister to Helios (Sol Seiza), Eos (Akemi Seiza), and Astraea (Emma Seiza). She is one of the many heroes who works for Themis. Her "dayjob" is a fashion designer.
Personal Information
Full Name: Phoebe Eliana Seiza
Age: 27
Gender: Female [Cis, She/Her]
Species: Metamutant
Nationality: Eden
Ethnicity: Afro-Greek/Japanese
Residency: Starlight Centre, Zone 5
Occupation: Hero, Fashion Designer
Affiliation(s): Themis, Moonstar Agency, & Starlight Centre Design Studio
Appearance
When she was younger and before her Gifts manifested, her hair was black.
Phoebe is a slender young woman with dark brown skin, curly dark blue hair with white dots, and brown eyes. In the middle of her forehead is a white crescent moon. She also has black freckles that turn white when she uses her powers. Her hair is meant to resemble the night sky.
On her shoulder is a tattoo of a woman looking up at the moon surrounded by flowers. The woman in question is her fiancee Starshine (Jin Liu).
Her casual wear is dark and consists of a black front tie crop top with a purple skirt, dark purple jacket with a fur collar, and black heeled ankle boots. It is meant to match her night and serene color scheme and also to further contrast her wardrobe to her personality.
Personality
Phoebe is bubbly, enthusiastic, and bright. Full of nothing but positive energy, she always looks on the bright side of things and finds optimism in any situation. This also makes her a morale booster, as she cheers up or comforts others when they're feeling sad. Her optimism and positivity are a driving force for her career as a both hero and fashion designer as she wants people to feel good about themselves whether it be their powers or the clothes they wear.
She cares about others, especially her family and friends. She takes up a nursing role whenever someone is sick or injured-- often watching over her fiancee Jin whenever that happens to them. Phoebe also cares about how they feel and if they're doing ok, especially in a field as perilous and violent as heroics.
Phoebe is both compulsive and impulsive. She does things at random and without warning before she starts doing them repeatedly. This also makes her quite naive to things like strategy and planning, often sticking to something she did on impulse at first and then repeating it.
Phoebe enjoys what she does and makes the most out of her double life.

Sorami Inoue, or Stormchaser, is one of the main characters of the Giftedverse and a heroine who works for Themis. When not working as a hero, she is a weather presenter for her family's media conglomerate, Stormwatch Media.
Personal Information

Personality:
Main positive traits: Kind, nurturing, motherly, charitable
Main neutral traits: Reliable, loyal, blunt, passionate, critical
Main negative traits: Anxious, aloof, uptight, impatient
Nurturing and kind, on and off the battlefield Sorami is always willing to lend a helping hand hence why she often hosts charity events and other fundraisers. She displays a motherly disposition towards those younger than her, namely her sidekicks and interns. People take comfort and safety in the motherly feeling about her, which has been made even stronger by her daughter Tenki's birth.
Her gentle nature makes her approachable for others and allows them to be vulnerable enough to open up to her. She will listen to them with open ears and help them as best as she can.
Despite her gentle and soft spoken nature, Sorami is incredibly blunt and direct in her talk. This catches people off guard. She makes it well known that she is not a doormat and most definitely not a pushover, either. Sorami will not let anyone try to silence her, either, that's only going to make her speak out more. But, she is still mindful of people's feelings– or at least she is on a small scale. She can (and is) very critical of certain people and organizations, and makes these criticisms known.
