~end of story~

Woohoo! We made it! Thank you for sticking with this story through the several breaks. I learned a lot through this process and I’m glad I could share it. I almost can’t believe it’s done, and almost teared up a bit when I finished the last panel. From drafting this back in September 2021 to finishing now, almost a full year, this comic has been a journey and now it comes to an end.

The blog will still be open to asks that I’ll have the kid ghosts or Thomas answer, but the comic storyline is finished. Thank you all again. This would not have been possible without your support.

So I’ve had this image in my head since I started making this comic, and this was originally going to be the end of the comic, but it worked out to be now instead.

Timeline wise this is about a month after Logan disappeared, we’re still only like 2 days in actual comic time.

What exactly happened to Patton? I (now) know his cause of death is starvation, but how did that happen?

Tw: abuse, neglect, bad foster home type of situation

So I’ve debated whether or not to draw Patton responding to this, but I’ve decided not to (for now, I might draw prequels for all the kids once the comic is done).

Patton’s parents died when he was three. He was sent into foster care. When he was 6 he was sent to a group home. He was the oldest kid there. The only adult, the ‘mother’ was neglectful. Patton became a stand in caretaker. He tried to stretch the small amounts of food provided as far as he could so the younger kids could eat. When he was 10, the mother took the rest of the kids somewhere for a weekend and left him home alone with no food. Since he was already suffering from malnutrition, he did not survive the weekend :(

Edit: there is a mistake with Remus’s death date. He died in 2000 not 2005, in the same car crash as Roman which is why they are fused

I couldn't find a date on your posts. But are you still updating this?

Hi! So, in theory, yes I am still updating. I’ve just picked up more hours at work and I’m in the pit of massive creative block. I don’t know how to get from where we are to the next plot point. So it’s been an unofficial hiatus but I’m hoping to post next Tuesday !
