This is giving Starry Night vibes and I am living my for it.
today I sketched and colored in the pattern, cut the warp, made the tablets from in-house chipboard/color-coded stickers instead of ABCD/hole-punch/sharpie/clear rustoleum, threaded the tablets and tied the warp onto the loom, then some dremeling and sand-papering of cheap lathe to make an awesome sword beater shuttle.
I am ready to weave this 50-card all-together pattern! 🥳🤩🥳
learning to spin on a drop spindle: a beginner’s lengthy yet comprehensive guide
I put this monograph together for a friend, but many other people wanted to read it as well, so here it is !
Fig A: Parts of a Drop Spindle. (image source. notes are mine. Click for higher res !). Apologies in advance for the lack of image descriptions–for the most part I use images because I can’t figure out how to describe the thing in words, so describing the images is kinda the whole issue. If anyone wanted to write them for me I’d add them to the original post in a heartbeat !
How to Get Started Drafting and Spinning
So, you have your fiber and your spindle–now what ?
I’m going to try to learn how to knit and stumbled across your blog. All of your projects look so cool and make me want to learn even more. Hope the new year is good to you, keep being awesome.
I literally have no idea how to use tumblr and missed this message! I encourage any steps you take for indulging in fiber arts. I’m always happy to provide inspo or project help too. Knitting is my favorite.
