do you plan on making analysis posts about lunar sways? or are you sticking with just classpect analysis at the moment

Hello anon! I haven't got any Tumblr notifications for this blog for some reason so I'm really sorry for the late reply.

I tend to stick with just the classpects as I feel that my understanding of lunar sway is: different from the majority opinion, weaker than my understanding of classpects proper, and not as relevant outside of Homestuck universes

I'm not adverse to it though, and if you have opinions or want to hear my opinion on the lunar sway of certain characters I can certainly try!

Tighnari is a Sylph of Light

A Sylph of Light is someone who passively restores impact and influence through sharing and fixing information.

My first thought, and maybe yours too, was Life due to his interests in botany and the rainforest. Looking through his characters stories and voicelines though, I didn't see a lot about growth and strength and liberation; instead I read about his passion for research and knowledge, and his insistence on helping others understand things as well.

From his first character story: "Tighnari is able to communicate the correct way to act and the reasons behind that in a manner most comprehensible to those he teaches. The way he sees it, these crafts of living out in the wilds are also knowledge, and that getting people to accept knowledge is an art in and of itself... Knowledge is, in truth, the treasure of all living things. It should be passionately embraced by those who are curious about it as opposed to becoming a tool for survival, doled out in limited amounts."

Shikanoin Heizou is a Bard of Void

A Bard of Void is someone who passively destroys lies and mysteries often using misdirection or confusion.

I mean, the first line of one of his character stories is "The way Heizou sees it, detectives are to destroy their opponents' defenses using their intelligence." Which is so Bard and in context makes a lot of sense for Void.

I agree that Heizou is Void! Though the fistkind thing is kind of tangential haha. I just updated the list to reflect that- he's my first Bard character too which is fun.

Yanfei is a Seer of Life

A Seer of Life is someone who passively understands how to fix problems and guides others to solutions and growth.

Her focus on laws to-the-letter originally struck me as Doom, but she is focused on how to improve them and how to get around them which is contrary to much of the things that Doom is.

Additionally, her least favorite cases are the messy, emotional ones. She likes fixing people's problems- not comforting them. That is clearly Life.

She's unparalleled in her knowledge of the law and her guidance in legal matters, I had Seer down for her before Life even.

if geo is a blood element then what would the classes of the geo users be?

Hi! For some reason, Tumblr didn't give me a notification for this ask so I didn't see it until now- sorry about that 😅

The way I understand classes and aspects is that one's aspect is primarily "nature" and one's class is primarily "nurture". Your aspect colors your entire understanding of the world; it's just the way your brain works. Your class is how you've learned to interact with your aspect and the world around you; it's more about action and behaviour.

I don't think Teyvat's "7 elements" translate into classes because anyone can grow into any class. In my view, assigning classes to the elements would be similar to saying that certain aspects equate to certain classes as well.

(as an example, if we say Geo = Blood, and Geo = Prince, then we'd have to say Blood = Prince. And that doesn't make much sense)

This isn't the question you asked so I'm putting it afterwards, but additionally:

Geo is pretty comparable to Blood but it's also similar to a few other aspects as well; aspects like Light and Space share a good amount of similarities. It can't really be a 1-to-1 ratio obviously, but more importantly: the different systems (the 7 elements and the 12 aspects) are designed to do different things in their respective universes.

The aspects, along with classes, are designed to be respective of a person's best and truest potential. Someone's classpect should be a summary of what this person looks like at their very best: both what they and enjoy and what they're good at.

We're not totally sure what the visions represent, nor why people receive one element over another, though there are some connecting factors that people speculate on. It seems more tied to the character's ambitions, goals, and actions than their personality, though I'm sure they influence each other.

All that is to say, Geo characters aren't all Blood and Blood players aren't all Geo. It might be a good starting point when considering a character's classpect, but I wouldn't stick to that assumption!

Nahida is a Seer of Hope

A Seer of Hope is someone who passively guides others using their imagination and understanding of all the various possibilities that could exist.

Very Seer-like right from the start, providing guidance and support along with exploring her own understandings.

All the stuff with dreams and imagination is very reminiscent of Hope. She talks about enjoying watching fate play out because it's something she can't predict, which I think deals into how Hope is tied to possibilities and opening options

Tartaglia is a Thief of Life

A Thief of Life is someone who actively steals strength and growth and uses it to overcome any obstacles.

I was thinking about Rage for him, but while he's very... unpredictable... his life and his goals aren't focused on defiance, righteousness, negativity, truth, etc. So them I thought about Blood because of his strong family and country ties, but while they are undeniably important to him, they don't really run his life either, as he mostly does his own thing under the Fatui off in other countries. So what does run his life? To become stronger. To be the very biggest fish in the sea and eventually conquer the world.

Tartaglia is Life down to the bone! I was sure of it as soon as I had that thought. His class was giving me some trouble however. He also definitely fits the archetype of Prince or Bard, but he's not actually especially destructive? He was not enthusiastic about the plan in Liyue, he only did it for the Tsaritsa. The rest of his life seems to be collecting debt and information, and challenging whoever he wants to fight. Dirk was not particularly destructive in a physical way, but as Heart he was definitely self-destructive and destructive of other's emotions. But Childe is pretty genuine honestly. He wasn't lying or pretending about being the traveller's friend even though it started with ulterior motives. Anyway, I just can't see him as a destroyer class. But he absolutely fits the Thief personality. Along with Vriska and Meenah, he is straight-forward about what he wants, and he goes to great lengths to take it. Debt collection and information gathering are thievery actions but he really shines in taking on strong opponents and learning how to defeat them to grow stronger himself. He was not born with exceptional battle skill, he had to take it by force down in the Abyss.

Ningguang is a Thief of Light

A Thief of Light is someone who actively steals and collects information and influence.

A great example of a Thief who is not super... 'morally complicated' shall we say.

Ningguang's whole life has been focused on fortune, information, and influence which is basically the entirety of the Light aspect. Need I say more?

I know that the two canon Thieves we have are a little more immoral than Ningguang, but there are no "good" or "bad" classes or aspects- they are only what you make of them. Besides, she definitely has the ambition and resolve that they have.

Sucrose is a Maid of Space

A Maid of Space is someone who actively creates and improves things related to biology, physicality, and location.

Space and Time are hard to summarize as they're very conceptualistic.

Her constant experiments with biology as well as her dream to create her own paradise- a location with "strict requirements when it comes to the selection of species" both ring Space. Life is a contender, but she's not concerned with the growth or development of her projects, she's concerned with their utility. She's also not assertive at all, which tends to be a Life trait.

Argh I was hoping that this event would give me a better idea of Razor's classpect but I still have no clue what his class is. I'm still decided on Blood for his aspect but I don't know what he does with it! He doesn't really do much of anything?

I'm leaning towards Knight/Page or Maid/Sylph but I can't even tell if he's an active or passive class. He's focused on others yes, but that might be because of Blood, not being a passive class. He keeps to himself yes, but that might be because he has no friends, not because he's an active class. Idk.

Mona is a Mage of Light

A Mage of Light is someone who actively learns world truths and facts and guides into the relevant future.

I really wanted her to be Space due to her whole aesthetic, but it just doesn't fit as well.

From her character stories, which I see as fairly self evident:

"Her astrological readings are exceptionally precise, and she will neither lie nor hold anything back when revealing the results of her readings." - The value of truth above feelings is Light

"The gods, too, are bound by the rules of this world. Mona seeks the final truth of the world, hidden amidst the sea of stars." - Sounds reminiscent of Rose trying to break Sburb by finding loopholes
