andreil in this au with andrew as the undercover michelin inspector and neil as the real spy confusing andrew for a fellow agent just bc andrew refused to correct him when?
recently got into Leverage and I have to say. Elliot and Hardison are the PREMIERE example of the Texas/Deep South relationship. it's like. I hate you. I'd jump off a bridge for you. you're the worst person I have ever met. you're the only one who understands me in this room full of yankees. I'd give you a kidney, but you canNOT have my beer.
if any of y'all see posts about house m.d on tumblr and think "I wanna watch that" you need to know that you can skip episodes. i would argue skipping certain episodes is vital to having an enjoyable house experience. house md is one of my favorite shows and has been genuinely important to me as an autistic queer chronically ill cane user. it also revels in it's main character being offensive for the sake of being offensive with that special early 2000s flair. if you care about the concept of fatphobia you will be unable to have a uncomplicated relationship with this show. for every earthshatteringly homoerotic hilson moment and every profoundly accurate disabled scene we the viewers must pay in some insane misogyny. that's just how it is on this bitch of a show
My absolute hottest take is that, from a culturally relative perspective, no food is bad. None of it. It's an expression of culture, art, history, ecology, material conditions, subjective taste. It's all inedible pap to somebody and the taste of childhood for someone else. Americans be eating cheesed burger. Pea wet is as good as gravy in Wigan. The French eat snails and the Inuit eat seal, the Germans eat sauerkraut and the Russians drink kvass, the Inca ate cavy and the Romans ate flamingo. People around the world have been eagerly awaiting their serving of simple bread or thin porridge or fermented milk product or pickled whatever-the-fuck since we learned to cook food over fire. We all love the slop we grew up eating. Food is a reflection of millennia of culture and loving human artistic expression. Attempting to extrapolate largely harmless online food banter into actual serious comparative rankings or half-baked critical analyses of cultures based on how much you subjectively don't like what they eat is a miserable way to live. Live a little. Peace and love on the only planet with food.
okay, so my current pet peeve in 9-1-1 fandom is the fact that you cannot honestly talk about eddie and shannon's marriage, and what went wrong there, and why she left him, without contending with the fact that (a) she came to los angeles to care for her dying mother and also (b) she asked him to come with her, and he said no.
like, i think there are a lot of fair criticisms to make about how she handled all that especially in regards to chris, but she didn't just up and leave eddie and chris because she was sick of being a mom or she didn't want to deal with eddie's ptsd, and even the more sympathetic discussions of shannon rarely seem to mention that. she was in an impossible situation. they both were.
(send me a 🔥 and a topic, and i'll give you my unpopular opinion)
all software should be open source wtf. u expect me to run this on my own computer without knowing what its doing???
car manufacturers dont weld the hoods shut to keep ppl from copying their engines. books arent written with a military-grade cipher to avoid plagiarism. and we dont let food have "secret formulas" anymore bc too often one of the "secret ingredients" was fucking lead
when ur distributing a product to the public u forfeit the right to hide whats inside it, u dont get to hand out a black box and expect ppl to just trust u when u totally swear it doesnt have a microphone inside
Some day I want to see a show that does the “no filler episodes” thing from the opposite direction. Just a whole season worth of low-stakes character pieces that seem to move the overall story absolutely nowhere, then episode 26 pulls all the triggers at once and this massive Rube Goldberg machine of a plot the show’s been quietly setting up in the background the whole time hits you like a truck.
