This got out of hand.
I made Atsushi's fit a bit of a combination between Chinese and Japanese given the origin of his tiger.
Kitsuzai once more, of course.
It's actually quite nice to draw the BSD cast as Japanese folklore...well, Atsushi is more Chinese folk, but the point stands~

What makes me sick is that both applause and complaints are based on misunderstanding.

actually your characters should be pure wish fulfillment and your writing should be entirely self indulgent and it should all be very, incredibly, undeniably horny.

The following are just some fun facts about irl Nakajima Atsushi that came across these days and I wanted to share them today as a way to celebrate his birthday. It is important to mention that these facts were taken from a couple of Japanese blogs and articles about Nakajima-sensei so they are vaguely translated, thus everything here it’s just the “gist” of the most interesting facts I thought were worth taken into account for adding more lore to his character in the bsd story as well as giving ideas for more headcanons, so please I suggest not taking these too seriously since I haven’t found someone who can confirm that these findings are totally true. Sources will be included as links. 1. Atsushi’s family was quite the thing. His parents divorced when he was at a young age and thus he had a couple of step-mothers. He had step-siblings. (*) 2. Nakajima Atsushi was a teacher of Japanese and English at Yokohama High School for Girls. He was quite popular among the students. ( ✧ ) 3. It is said that some students used to placed  a vase of roses on Nakajima-sensei’s desk before he arrived to class. When class over they removed the vase. ( ✧ ) 4. He was very good at swimming and he enjoyed playing billiards. ( ✧ ) 5. Atsushi’s wife, Hashimoto Taka, was a worker in a Mahjong club that Atsushi used to visit often. They crazily fell in love to the point they decided to get married without thinking it too much. That, besides the fact Nakajima wanted to play the hero’s role since his beloved was being kinda forced to be with her cousin, he felt like he needed to save her. Regardless, their relationship was serious and pure. (x) 6. When Atsushi was teaching at Saipan Island he used to send letters to his family. At that time letters were read by officers (there was a war starting at that time) so he always restrained from writing inappropriate stuff (to his wife, I guess, he didn’t want to have his family’s issues read by others). On the other hand, he sent postcards to his child. (+) 7. When he was living alone, there was a time he visited the red district, but his mainly purpose was no other than finding material for writing a novel. Then, he still wrote an apology letter to Taka (his wife). Nakajima Atsushi considered himself  kind of a bad person but this may not be about women affairs. (x)
