Oh, hi...

Umm... I have been slowly rewriting it, since with with each new chapter I was getting a better picture of what I wanted to do with the story, and well, it didn't worked that well with what I had been writing already. It's been very slow, because my circumstances have changed, you see, when I originally wrote it I was in a deep deppresive episode, and with lots of free time, now I'm not in that situation, I'm in film school, and happy, and with other projects, so C&S has taken less priority, in like, I'll write 500 word every quarter. Maybe I'll write some more this week.

And Blindspot is Bdubs, Cold Flame is Tango, and Impulse used to be a villain with those 2, "The Boomers" s7 reference.

The thing I was going with, was that maybe for her HC8 and E1 happened long ago (non-linear timelines, and wibly wobly timey wimey stuff), maybe she becomes a celestial being after those events, and for her, a lot of time passes where with her new status, and the trauma, she becomes a little bit more unhinged.

So, we have two options: Or go the option in which didn't realise that she wasn't doing any wrong since she thought everyone was on it for the story, or... the angsty option of Gem being a celestial being, causing chaos just for the fun of it.

And seeing our other AU... I think the answer is pretty clear.

Also, maybe connect her attitude to the previous series? Like she became a traumatized celestial being after the moon big, and the rapture.

Tbh, I can think that Gem does want to cause chaos for her own entertainment and she's very aware that she's causing the Hermits actual problems but it doesn't register to her that it's a bad thing in a way? Or she just doesn't care to go for the more simple route

I don't think Gem would be that affected by the Moon Big thing since she's a Celestial being and is probably desensitized to these things? I think we need to define what a Celestial being is here or something

I don't really wanna make her the same person as Wizard Gem if we're going the route that Gem is causing chaos just so she can LARP since Gem would be more responsible and more about peace if she was the same as Wizard Gem?

"When I went to the Cliffs for the ceremony of ascension of the new Head Wizard, and I discovered that this new head wizard would be Gem, I behaved as an adult, and everything went smoothly from then on" (<======definitely lying)

you know what still thinking about cleo's latest episode and feeling emotional. because like. okay listen -

cleo was one of the first of ren's square table. they saw the option to audition to be an advisor and took it. they were never there for loyalty, mind; from the very beginning, they wanted to take power, largely only tolerated ren, and were ready to openly rebel the moment ren made it possible. in turn, ren never really trusted cleo, dismissed them at every turn, and when his time came to fall, was nearly alone in it. (though the whole square table did stand with him in the end - strangely. must count for something, right?)

rentheking falls. through a series of events, what appears to be the crown is passed to cleo. cleo becomes king, a position that wields no real power, and hermitcraft moves on.

now, cleo makes a museum, collecting all the important things on the server (or at least, all the ones cub doesn't get to first). their biggest exhibit is of rentheking. after all, they're king. it's their right. it walks through the rise and fall of ren, from someone who was there, but also from someone who has been separated from it by time.

the old king comes to visit. cleo walks him through it. they laugh about it together. ren wears his old robes, jokes about how he can't leave them on too long, they do things to him, man. cleo jokes about plundering his private areas. it's good. they're good.

ren pulls a crown from a box. conspiratorially, he admits the one he gave to sausage had always been a replica, as is the one that cleo has. this is the real crown, the tiny crown of the dog. the one bdubs had given to him all that time ago.

he's giving it to cleo. cleo accepts.

then cleo tells ren he did good, and ren says he can barely remember anything from that time with how much was happening, and points out that cleo's stairs - they're replicas of the ones in the king's quest area, right? cleo laughs. she didn't think anyone would notice.

yeah. the torch is passed. they're all good.

A BIG fandom pet peeve of mine is people making vague callout posts about how a character needs to be portrayed. The type of "why do people portray [character] as [thing that's ooc or not canon or they simply don't agree with]?".

And even if I 100% agree, even if it IS OOC, I always think "? Ok and? Just let people have fun?? You don't have to like it and engage with it?? Do your own thing??"

Like??? Who CARES if people portray a character as OOC. You don't have to like and/or reblog it. Yeah I get it. It's annoying and I roll my eyes too sometimes when I browse the fandom tags. But I just go on with my life.

Is it really this hard for you to ignore it and move on? Do you really have to make a post about it? How it's ooc or not canon? Do you really have to make people feel bad for liking that kind of depiction for that character?

[Some weeks later]

Gem landed on the Undergrove, followed by Scott, they both got to the door and knocked. After a few moments, someone opened.

Xornoth was a living reflection of his brother now, except for the purple hair, and for their simpler clothes, far different from the regal ornaments that Scott tended to use. "Wizard, brother." They solemnly bowed their head.

"Xornoth. How has everything been?" Scott asked.

"It has been peaceful, as all the previous times you have come to check on us" They chuckled. "Living as a farmer can be boring, but being able to spend time with Shrub makes it all worth it." He smiled.

"Talking about, is she around?" Gem asked.

Xornoth looked up. "She went to the fairy's. But, don't worry..."

The sound of 2 persons landing made the emeprors turned around. Shrub had arrived together with Katherine, both holding hands, but the gnome quickly run towards Xornoth.

"Dad!" She went directly to hug them.

"Little gnome!" They received it without hesitation.

Everyone smiled at the beautiful scene. And at the peace that they could finally enjoy.

Even if Shrub wanted the hug to last as long as possible, she let go of Xornoth embrace, looking at the floor.

"Shrub? What's wrong?" Xornoth use his hand to raise her head so they could see eye to eye. Shrub resisted a bit, but she finally looked up at the demon's eyes. Her golden eyes, filling with tears.

"I- they... they got rid of the corruption on me, and severed my connection to Exor."

Xornoth mouth opened in surprise, and he tried to say something, but was interrupted by Shrub.

"But, I don't want for you to corrupt me again."

"Shrub..."

"I don't want to live to make Exor's world anymore. I don't want to live for Aeor's either. I just want to live, with you, and don't worry about anything else." Shrub look at them with the same sad eyes that she had the day they found her on that nether wasteland.

"Shrub... I..." Xornoth kept looking at her eyes, and sighed. "Shrub, you want for me to stop being separated from Exor's influence. I'm their champion... how would that work?"

"It worked for me, it can work for you. And you would be able to be yourself, the you that decided to take care of me all those years ago."

Xornoth gave a defeated smile. "Alright little gnome. I'll do it. For you."

Shrub smiled, and sat besides them, reclining on their shoulder. "Should we wait them here?" she yawned.

They softly reclined on her too, hugging her to make sure she didn't got cold while they wait.

Gem had called for Fwhip and Pearl, and Scott called Jimmy to act as backups as they went to the Undergrove, they couldn't let Xornoth to grew strong again, they needed to act quickly.

They all tried to land without making too much noise. They had previously planned for everyone to split up to search around, but Scott signaled towards Shrub's house. "They are in there." He muttered.

And quickly they went in attack mode, prepared to fight against the demon again, and-- they were peacefully sleeping, on the couch.

Xornoth was the first to open his eyes, they were careful to not distrub Shrub too much as she slowly woke up after them. He raised his arms, and Shrub explained what happened to the group, that still had their weapons trained towards them.

"I'm sorry I escaped, but, I knew that if he was freed from the crystal with all of you present, he wouldn't react well. I wanted to talk to them, alone, so it would easier to convince." Tears began forming again. "Neither me, nor them will try any tricks on you all now, but I know neither of us has your trust, so please, put us on those magic dampening cuffs if you must." They both placed their hands so the emperors could cuff them.

The emperors looked at each other, and a Gem and Scott looked at each other agreeing. Gem took the cuffs, and put them on their wrists. After doing it to Shrub, she placed a hand on her shoulder, and smiled. "I'm glad you did the right thing."

And they returned to the Overgrown, Katherine looked up as the door opened with everyone guarding the two prisoners. She looked at Shrub, who raised her head, and gave her a ashamed smiled.

They placed Xornoth on the same ritual circle as Shrub, and while the demon looked at the gnome, muttering "see you soon" to her, Gem chanted the spell. A white light enveloped Xornoth, taking longer than Shrub, as their connection to Exor was being cut off.

Oh, definitely most of the scars would be from Sausage and Fwhip. But I still feel like Gem would leave those dar magic scars by request of Pearl. Maybe she ask her "Leave them with a reminder that won't be forgotten"

Well, the other emperors would be disgusted and/or worried on what Pearl has become and what the Wra are doing to the citizens of Gilded Helanthia. Shrub would probably still be in semi control of herself, only blacking out when Gem controls her, and she's confused on why her empire was still receiving food exports from Pearl. The truth does get revealed eventually and Shrub can be given a choice on whether to join or be under permanent control?

Also imagine if some of the people that trained/tutored Pearl to be queen when Pearl was a kid was still around-

If she joined voluntarily, I can imagine it going badly, like she accepts only because she doesn't really has any other option, but, she acts as a spy for the other emperors, feeding them info until the wra discovers her, and...

"Pearl-" A person tied to a chair said.

"Queen Pearl to you." She placed her sword under their chin. "Didn't you want me to use my proper titles? Then, you do too, miss."

Her teacher was trembling in fear. "Queen Pearl, why are you doing this?"

"Do I need a reason? I'm the queen." Pearl's crimson eyes gleamed. She crouched and grinned. "You obey me, or suffer the consequences." She coughed, and retired her sword, making her teacher sigh in relief. "But anything I do, will heal." She stood up. "So... I'll let Gem teach you the lesson. So you never forget."

All the candles in the room went out, for a few seconds, they light on again, revealing Gem in the place where Pearl had been standing a moment ago.
