"why we build the wall" from hadestown is really gonna trip up future media analysis students. they'll be like "ah a piece of media from the 2010s referencing building a wall to keep out the poor, clearly this is a reference to the president of the united states from 2016-2020", and then their professor will have to be like "actually the concept album for this musical came out in 2010"

#too many weird opinions have clear underlying moral implications much broader than fandom #and as a philosopher i cannot help but care #some debates are in fact silly and ridiculous but a lot are really a different debate instanced in fandom terms #and it never hurts to interrogate your own ethical stances and being an adult doesnt mean youre above that #and anyone who implies that all adults clearly can intuit reasonable morals is sus #the other implication is that with experience you accept that moral differences exist and get less upset which is a fair point #however i enjoy arguing sooooo
