i’m sorry but i didnt sign up for social isolation when i transitioned, i signed up for gender euphoria and comfort in myself and my life. and i had hoped that the ppl in my life would be able to see how much joy that brings me and continue to love me.

Nobody irl told me i could be a trans woman, I found that all out online and even then it took me years to figure out a way to come out that wouldnt involve me being humiliated (it didnt work btw) so no I dont think a trans woman talking to me about gender would have been a problem and probably would have saved me years of torment but hey if more trans women existing is scary to you i guess it makes sense to not want anyone discussing it

I think bringing up "it/its" pronouns is a good test for people who claim to be "trans allies" because it so easily weeds out the people who are only doing it superficially. I've seen so many people who will post "Punch your local TERF #transrightsarehumanrights" and then turn around and be like "If someone says they go by 'it/its' pronouns it's actually good to misgender them because they're just teenager trenders"

this is a way better model... you'll still get transphobic & intersexist drs of course but i prefer this to male / female or even having separate questions for gender & sex.

[we can't see the full form, but i'd suggest having a "something else" option and dominant hormone question too.]
