I also have been thinking a lot about early seasons Meg and how demons who choose female vessels effectively wield their bodies as precision based weapons and like. There's this inherent level of distance between Meg or the crossroads demon and the body they're inhabiting ofc the Female Body in this case IS a costume a performance a private joke a sort of matador's red cape used to manipulate the male protags. Meg specifically uses performative helplessness and sexuality as well as emasculation ("I thought you'd be taller.") This dense and arbitrary network of masculine neuroses for her own unknowable alien (demon) purposes. it's weaponized DRAG. and yet. the rules of spn misogyny world reassert themselves. how long can Meg live in a female vessel and experience what it's like to be perceived as a woman in spn world before she counts as a girl. how long can she bandy around that body before it IS her body. and the violence and sexuality and terror that come with having a body belong to her too.
streaming services have become so evil they’re literally deleting & editing scenes, altering the color grading, changing music in the background bc of issues with copyright, making episodes unavailable, editing content…….it’s genuinely so frightening that an entire series film or music can cease to exist in its original form online. pirating and having physical copies r good answers to the problem but not perfect solutions. the conservation of media truly is in jeopardy
