Daily Devotionals for January 18, 2023

Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-8(KJV): 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Thought for the Day

Verses 5-6 - "Leaning on our understanding" does not mean we are not to use our minds. When we do not understand what is happening, we must trust the LORD to show us what to do. When we are tempted to blame God for trials, we must not yield to Satan's accusations against Him. Evil attacks against us or our families do not come from God but from Satan, who is trying to discourage us. We must trust God to bring us through every trial. If we acknowledge Him, He promises to direct our paths and show us how to overcome every problem we encounter.

Verse 7 - We must not be "wise in our own eyes," but reverently respect the Lord. If we believe that the Bible is true, we will leave our ways and follow His. We will honor His Word and not treat it lightly, since we will fear the consequences of rejecting Him. The Bible tells us there is a heaven and a hell and that we will decide which will be our abode. We are invited to repent of our sins, accept Jesus as our Savior, and obey His law of love. To accept this invitation is to choose the way of heaven. If we reject it, our rebellion will take us to hell. A healthy fear and respect for God will help us to resist evil when we are tempted to sin.

Verse 8 - The navel marks where a baby's umbilical cord was once attached, reminding us that our mothers gave us life by nourishing us through the umbilical cord before we were born. Symbolically, this could represent God's life - bringing health to us as we are "attached" to Him. The Hebrew word for navel also means "nerve or muscle." Following God brings health to our emotions and bodies. The phrase "marrow to thy bones" takes on strong implications regarding health in the light of modern medicine and biology: life-giving cells are created in the marrow of the bones and released to the body, and doctors even perform bone marrow transplants for the reversal of some fatal diseases.

Many helpful books are available on health, but the greatest advice on healthy living is found in God's Word. He desires to bless us with healthy minds, bodies, and spirits. This complete health is obtained by allowing Jesus to rule every area of our lives.

Prayer Devotional for the Day

Dear Father in heaven, we come to You in the name of Jesus. Thank you, Lord, for so many wonderful promises in Your Word. We come to You humbly and ask that You remove any prideful attitudes in our hearts and lives. We truly want to follow in Your ways and serve You. Help us to trust You when things are going wrong, as much as when things are going right. We realize to walk in faith, that we must believe that You will help us with our current problems even though we do not see a way at this time. You will make a way, as You have never failed anyone who comes to You in faith. Thank you for your good health, mentally and physically. We are glad that so many of our names are written in the Book of Life. Use us to help others find the way to heaven and I ask these things in your name. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

There is an academic cottage industry devoted to explaining (and excusing) people who are lazy: they live in a society where people like them have not been rewarded for their work in the past; their “social capital” is low; they have other “values” than those of the wider society. The explainers’ big mistake is thinking that laziness needs explaining, but laziness is quite normal. Laziness has characterized many civilizations, for example, those who where masters made slaves do the work. Perhaps that is why the Church in the slave-based Roman Empire constantly taught the virtue of hard work. Here is Paul talking to the Ephesian elders: “You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:34-35).’” Diligence, not laziness, is what needs explaining.

Deep down the lazy man rebels against God’s curse on work. We labor by the sweat of our brow, weeds always interfering, work rarely “fulfilling,” often drudgery. Work is work! But he who submits to its demands will generally see his desires fulfilled, as the proverb teaches. Not so for the lazy man.

OPINION January 17, 2023

Opinion—everybody has an opinion, facts notwithstanding. Well, I have mine too, and I think my opinion is factual. I’m sure of it.

Let me begin by saying, President Trump, if he hasn’t done anything else, has provided this country with a marvelous gift. We must only open our eyes and see it. Then, we must do something about it. He has shown us the depth and extent of our ignorance and lack of rational thinking which has integrated itself into our democracy. We elected him to the office but his mental state remains just like the chronic disease of it is.

Again, the tired old outcry, “Wake up America”, wake the hell up! Open your eyes and your minds before it is too late. This is no light matter. Our nation and our democracy are in deep, serious trouble. Figuratively speaking, “the sky is beginning to fall” upon us, politically, economically, and ecologically. This is not a Republican or Democratic matter. This is a matter affecting all of us. Really! Believe it! Open your eyes before it is too late.

President Donald John Trump is one of, if not the most, inept, incompetent, and ignorant presidents in the history of our nation! Believe it! and those who believe in him as they continue to follow, It’s a fact, easily seen by almost anyone willing to stop, look, and think intelligently and spiritually with an open mind.

It’s not as if the position and responsibilities of the President of our country are as simple as that of the Mayor of some town or city somewhere or a large business down the street. Our great nation is the largest most powerful and most prosperous empire in the history of the world—the history of civilization, that we have been going downhill for the past forty years notwithstanding. Our great nation consists only of 5% of the world’s population. Yet we collectively possess 41.6% of the world’s total wealth and consume an estimated 25% of the world’s productivity (standard of living). If the entire world enjoyed the same level standard of living as we do, there would not be enough to go around. Just think about that. In past years before today’s technology, instant communication, etc., we could get away with that. How long do you think this condition can continue to exist today? How long can our poor continue to be rich relative to our poorer neighbors? Think of China with a population of 1.3 billion as compared to our 330 million and their relative level of poverty.

But I digress. The position of President of the United States of America under our Constitution, the richest, most powerful nation in the history of civilization, is the most responsible in existence and is not available to just anybody. It is so responsible, every move he (or she) makes; every word he or speaks must be measured, controlled, truthful, and responsible as to cause and effect. He must be capable to envisage any strategy through to the end, even before he begins. He must be educated, knowledgeable, wise, and emotionally stable—a leader. Donald Trump is not that person in any way, shape, or form and is not alone in a capitalistic society. To the contrary, unfortunately, it is proven fact and obvious to anyone who will look with an open mind, that he is intellectually lazy, unsatisfactorily educated, and emotionally unstable. Just as bad, if not worse, his is not a one-man show. He is not a leader. He lacks any semblance of leadership skills or integrity. In just three years, this nation became more increasingly divided and bickered between two parties for too long. Almost, if not all, major positions within his areas of responsibility have turned over more than once and/or are temporary. This is neither leadership nor good management. Also, he has never been trustworthy and neither have those who follow him remained. He is tantamount to loose cannon. He and others do not serve this nation. They serve only themselves and their pockets. As President of the United States of America, he must go.

Let us clear up one matter right from the start—the argument that I, like others, am mad because I don’t like Donald Trump; I lost my vote; my opinion is “sour grapes”; and I just want to get rid of him because I lost. Hogwash—pure Hogwash! I have lived through thirteen presidents—Franklin Delano Roosevelt thru Donald John Trump, and have not one time advocated impeachment for reasons of “sour grapes”— ever! Donald John Trump, as President of the United States of America, is a threat to our country, to our people, and the whole world. I don’t give a damn about his sex life, his religion, his personality, or his looks—or, just now, his political party. What I do care about is his ability to lead our country through these perilous times; and, any way you choose to look at it, he doesn’t have it, evidenced by his performance over the past three years as well as his performance before he was elected (for those who want to get ahead of their preconceived opinions and look at his record—it’s all there if they will only put forth their effort to look).

Again, this is not a Democrat or Republican issue, our country is in jeopardy. This is a crisis. Donald Trump must go and go now and so must others. I warned you once before in my past blogs, receiving no response or approbation. This is your life, your country, and, as a citizen, your responsibility. It is also the life of your children and grandchildren for all generations to come.

Please don't forget that.

Our Economy

The administration of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the Democratic Party of the times successfully brought the common people of our great nation out of the Great Depression of the 1930’s and through World War II to achieve the highest prosperity and standard of living of any nation in the history of civilization only to have the Republican Party and the Corporatocracy and Power Elite, which they represent, in their greed and corruption once again take control of our government and bring about its financial collapse in 2008 from the ashes of which the Democratic Party, under the leadership of President Barack Obama, once again restored us from disaster. 

Would you believe it? They (the Republicans) still haven’t, as I think it was Jerry Falwell who used to say, “Learn to quit sucking eggs”. They’re at it again, and our great nation is once more on the verge of financial collapse, which I believe is imminent, regardless of which party comes to power in 2020—our only hope is for us to immediately get our taxes and spending in order; and, I might add, when it does come, don’t blame the Democrats.

If you think our economy is so “Great and Wonderful” as is being touted by the present administration, you are asleep, living in a dreamland. It is a fact! Our economy is FALSE to the core, based solely on borrowed money—government, personal, and corporate. Everybody knows, or most certainly should, anyone can live as “high on the hog’, on borrowed money, as long as their heart desires, if the lender will continue to lend, but that’s a fool’s errand—all borrowing must come to an end. It must be repaid. Despite what the politicians tell you, NOTHING IS FREE. Debt is ALWAYS repaid by someone—if not by the borrower, by the lender. They also know, or should, that government debt is, in the final analysis, the result of our spending over our payment of taxes. 

That having been said, tell me. How does your bank account look? How much do you owe? How much interest are you paying? What are you going to do when your credit “runs out” or, God forbid, that of our corporations or our government (both have been borrowing to the “hilt” in these times of extremely low interest)? What are you going to do if you lose your job, or what if you are forced to sleep on the streets or in your cars (assuming they are unencumbered)? Are you going to vote for Herbert Hoover again?

Think about it.

Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 3:3-4(KJV): 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

  Thought for the Day

Verse 3 - Many "cause and effect" statements are found throughout Proverbs. Today's verses reveal that we find favor with God and man if we allow mercy and truth to rule our hearts and lives. The Bible is God's Word; therefore, we are admonished to keep its truths in our hearts. John 14:6 also records that Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." We must invite Jesus to dwell in our hearts, for He is the Truth. We will never find our way in this world until we allow the Holy Spirit, through Jesus, to lead and guide us. Life and truth are in Him. When we follow Him, we will keep His commandments, which are absolute truth. Jesus said "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" (Matthew 24:35).

Humanistic teachings claim that there are no moral absolutes or absolute truth. These false doctrines have spread throughout the world. Humanism teaches that each man is his guide and truth. We are told to do what "feels right" for us and to let others do what they "feel is right" for them. Right or wrong becomes whatever each individual decides it to be. This destructive teaching is wreaking havoc in our world. Without moral standards, there is no justice; each person becomes a law to himself. Proverbs 16:25 describes this kind of thinking: "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof is the ways of death."

Verse 4 - If we desire God's favor, we must embrace His words and His ways. If we want man's favor, we must not only embrace the truth but be merciful to people. We must not be legalistic about God's Word, but always have mercy in our hearts toward those who break the laws of God. The Lord tells us that if we desire to obtain mercy in our time of need, we must be merciful to those who fall short of the truth and hurt us. "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7).

Prayer Devotional for the Day

Dear heavenly Father, We are grateful that You have revealed Yourself to us. We do want to walk in Your Truth and keep Your Words and Your commandments. We know that we cannot do this without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, so fill us with Your Holy Spirit this day. May we show mercy to any that need it, as we need Your mercy as well? Lord, deliver us from any temptation of deceitfulness or any dishonest way. May we be honest and truthful with all? Cleanse our hearts of everything that would be displeasing in Your sight. We do desire Your mercy and truth that we might walk in favor with You and mankind. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 3:1-2(KJV): 1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For the length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.   Thought for the Day

Verse 1 - The first verse above gives us an admonition, while the second verse gives the result of keeping that admonition. What wonderful promises God gives us! If we do not forget His laws, but keep them in our hearts and obey them, they produce peace, long life, and days full of accomplishment - besides the many other things, the Lord promises His people.

Over the years, I have heard people say things like "You never know when it will be your time to go" or "It may be God's will to take you home when you are young." Today's verses, and other verses, however, promise long life if we do certain things: "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation" (Psalm 91:14-16). "The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened" (Proverbs 10:27).

Verse 2 - God desires to bless us and our families with long life and peace. These promises are as available to us as are His many other blessings, but they are conditional. We must keep His Word in our hearts and appropriate His promises through faith and obedience. He has a wonderful purpose for every individual on earth and promises long life to fulfill them. However, we have an enemy who is determined to destroy us. Jesus spoke of Satan as a thief; he seeks to rob our families and us of the peace and long life that God promises (John 10:10). We must learn God's Word and walk in His ways to protect ourselves and our families from the enemy. One passage we can claim daily is Psalm 91. If we are in God's will, He will protect us, regardless of geographic location or circumstances. We could be in a war zone and still be safe; conversely, we could be in the safest place in the world and still have a fatal accident if we are not in His will, for then we are open to a Satanic attack. The only safe place is in the will of God.

As we meditate on God's Word and claim it by faith, we become overcomers in Christ, living abundant lives and fulfilling His purposes. Satan can take a Christian's life prematurely; however, the devil is ultimately defeated since we are promised eternal life in heaven.

Prayer Devotional for the Day

Father, we come to You in Jesus' name thanking You for Your promises. Thank you especially for Your promise of peace in our lives today. We thank you that when we become anxious or fearful, that we can bring those fears to You, and You will remove them and give us Your peace. Lord, I also appreciate Your promise of a long life. Father give us Your grace and health in our latter years, so that we may complete all that You have called us to do. Thank you for keeping us safe, even at times when we did not know it. Thank you for Your protecting angels around me and my family and friends. Thank You for all of Your wonderful promises, and may we remain strong in faith to receive and walk in them. Amen.

Daily Devotionals for January 15, 2023 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 2:21-22(KJV): 21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. 22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

  Thought for the Day

Verse 21 - These verses hold a wonderful promise of protection for God's people. The upright and the perfect will dwell in the land, and Satan cannot drive us from where the Lord places us. What makes a person upright and perfect? The Bible calls us righteous or upright when we have accepted the Lord Jesus as our Savior and walk in His will. Perfect speaks of our becoming like Jesus and our heavenly Father. When we read Matthew 5:48, where Jesus commanded "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect," we may think that there is no way that we can be perfect. The Lord, however, would never tell us to be what we cannot be. Perfect is better rendered as "mature." The Lord does not wish us to remain immature, walking in the flesh (our old, unregenerate nature) and doing what is unbecoming of His followers. He desires that we grow up into Christ, standing in His righteousness and not our own.

Verse 22 - This verse tells us that the wicked will be cut off (removed) from the earth - not the righteous. Psalm 24:1 says, "The earth is the Lords, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." Eventually, only God and His people will inhabit the earth; the devil's followers will be removed. "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity, and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear" (Matthew 13:41-43).

Jesus prayed, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven." The Lord wishes to demonstrate His will and His Kingdom on this earth to all people through the lives of each of His children. He desires our light to shine in this dark world. Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, we want to be a light for You on this earth. Lord, we live in a dark world, so help us desire that You shine in us so others may see Your light. Help us today to live perfectly toward You and walk in Your will. We know that when we do this, You will use us to help others. We know that while we are busy with Your business, You will keep us safe from all harm. Thank you, today for protecting my close friend in the automobile accident that he and his wife were involved. Although the car was totaled, they were not severely injured. Thank you for another of Your promises in Psalm 37 which says, our seed shall be blessed. We are most blessed to have the promises of Your Word. May others know those same promises are for them and their families too. I ask this In Jesus' name, Amen.

Our Economy

The administration of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the Democratic Party of the times successfully brought the common people of our great nation out of the Great Depression of the 1930’s  and through World War II to achieve the highest prosperity and standard of living of any nation in the history of civilization only to have the Republican Party and the Corporatocracy and Power Elite, which they really represent, in their greed and corruption once again take control of our government and bring about its financial collapse in 2008 from the ashes of which the Democratic Party, under the leadership of President Barack Obama, once again restored us from disaster. 

Would you believe? They (the Republicans) still haven’t, as I think it was Jerry Falwell who used to say, “Learn to quit sucking eggs”. They’re at it again, and our great nation is once more on the verge of financial collapse, which I personally believe is imminent, regardless of which party comes to power in 2020—our only hope being for us to immediately get our taxes and spending in order; and, I might add, when it does come, don’t blame the Democrats.

If you think our economy is so “Great and Wonderful” as is being touted by the present administration, you are asleep, living in a dreamland. It is a fact! Our economy is FALSE to the core, based solely on borrowed money—government, personal, and corporate. Everybody knows, or most certainly should, anyone can live as “high on the hog’, on borrowed money, as long as their heart desires, if the lender will continue to lend, but that’s a fool’s errand—all borrowing must come to an end. It must be repaid. Despite what the politicians tell you, NOTHING IS FREE. Debt is ALWAYS repaid by someone—if not by the borrower, by the lender. They also know, or should, that government debt is, in the final analysis, the result of our spending in excess of our payment of taxes. 

That having been said, tell me. How does your bank account look? How much do you owe? How much interest are you paying? What are you going to do when your credit “runs out” or, God forbid, that of our corporations or our government (both have been borrowing to the “hilt” in these times of extremely low interest)? What are you going to do if you lose your job, or what if you are forced to sleep on the streets or in your cars (assuming they are unencumbered)? Are you going to vote for Herbert Hoover again?

Think about it.

Look You

Look you. For just a minute, I ask you to think about something. You can readily see all the disruption, discontent, want, suffering, and unhappiness all around us, with people, with nations, and with the world for that matter. You don’t have to be told. You know things aren’t right. Why? For just a moment, look beyond what you see, what you hear, and even how you think you feel. The late French economist, thinker, and artist, Frederic Bastiat told us that there is that which is seen, and that which is not seen. Looking for that which is not seen, cast aside from your mind for just a moment all the clutter and garbage that is fed to us on a daily basis and ask yourself a question. What on earth is behind all of this that is not seen that is causing all of this? What is really going on?

Allow me to suggest an answer to all this misery. That answer is the struggle for power and dominance, the basic answer to everything. The greatest, yet the most basic struggle is between God and Satan. Before you cast that aside so brusquely, please, just consider it. We all know who is going to win in the end, but that struggle is happening all around us each and every day. 

Now, let us bring this discussion down to earth where we can really relate. For the past approximately two and a half centuries of our nation’s existence, our people have been suffering between the pull of two forces—capitalism, the interests of the rich and the privileged, and the interests of the people, God’s creation, put here by God to “dress, till, and keep”, i.e. rule, a very long time before capitalism was ever given a thought. Before you cast that aside, too, recall to your mind what we were told by Jesus, God’s Son, that man cannot worship God and mammon, i.e. money, that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In that light, I say to you, this earth exists for man—all of us—not just the rich and privileged. To this end, you also know that business exists to serve the wants and needs of man—not the other way around, to rule over man.

Therefore, as you listen to your television, read in your newspapers, glean from your computers, and, also, relate with your friends and neighbors, behind all the information you “take in”, are the influence, propaganda, and mind control resulting from this struggle for power. In your study of history, you can see it in the Republican Party from the beginning of the industrial revolution in the mid 1800s to the present, and in the Democratic Party pretty much from the “seventies” to the present, neither of whom have really served the people that well until people like Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, etc. came to the fore.

So, therefore, if we really want to “get on the road” with solving our problems in this great nation, I suggest we must first determine which way we want to go, i.e. direction, and “get it done”, rather than continue to follow the messy and expensive direction we are now doing. That decision should be made by the people. Perhaps we need a new party, do you think? I do know this for certain. Our country is going to continue to “go downhill” until our people wake up, get involved, and address this question.

Moving a step further in this discussion, there are those who say our country is not a democracy. It is a republic. They are mistaken. Our nation is a democratic republic. It is true that, in our beginning, our democracy was weak. Our senators were elected by representatives in the Houses of Representatives rather than directly by the people as we now do. Also, women couldn’t vote in those days, and neither could blacks, who were treated like machines with no regard for their humanity. They were property to be bought, sold, traded, and even killed at will. If our founders had been able to have their way in our beginning, only the wealth and property owners would have had the right to vote. Our democracy has come a long way baby (as they say), and could come even further if our people would only get off their duffs and take back our country from the corporations and very rich, i.e. the Corporatocracy and Power Elite—the very rich, the, well, you know who; or, what is it they say? You Know.

Only if the people, our people, take charge can we take back our country—not with guns, but at the voting booths across the nation, in demonstrations, and with pressure on our representatives in the “House” and senators in the “Senate”. Do we remember the “sixties”? It worked then. Even our president then decided not to run for a second term. Also, it would be one big help if people would read more and be better informed so as to really know what they are talking about. I say again, “Look you”.

Daily Devotionals for January 14, 2023  Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living Devotional Scripture: Proverbs 2:16-20(RSV): 16 You will be saved from the loose woman, from the adventuress with her smooth words, 17 who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God; 18 for her house sinks to death, and her paths to the shades; 19 none who go to her come back nor do they regain the paths of life. 20 So you will walk in the way of good men and keep to the paths of the righteous.

  Thought for the Day

Verses 16-17 - Yesterday's devotional told us that if we hide God's Word in our hearts and obey Him, we will not fall into the snare of the enemy. Today's verses warn against the snare of immorality, and they are as applicable today as when first written. Many men have ruined both their reputations and lives by having sexual affairs. This has been demonstrated in recent decades in America in the lives of political and religious leaders. Dishonorable role models have left our nation and churches weakened; our young people disillusioned. God will forgive illicit affairs if one repents, but most people are not as forgiving. They remember them. A loose woman is unfaithful to her husband and forgets her covenant with God. She becomes ensnared with lust, and the devil incites her to flirt with men to lead them astray.

Verse 18 - This verse describes her house as sinking to death. This is a picture of sin that carries the death principle (meaning that it releases those things that eventually lead to death). Sin always brings a curse. Our nation today is cursed with many painful and incurable sexually-transmitted diseases. At this writing, there are over 42 million people worldwide, who are living with AIDS/HIV, and this number continues to grow. Many of these are children, born from infected mothers. This illustrates that one person's life of sin does not remain as an island to himself, but will eventually infect others, even the innocent.

Verse 19-20 - Those who are unfaithful cannot return to the paths of righteousness without God's help. The warning of Proverbs to men to stay pure is also applicable to women who would be tempted by lustful men. We must pray that our young people and nation return to the Biblical virtues of virginity and chastity before marriage and faithfulness to the marriage vows after wedlock. Fornication, adultery, and other sexual sins divide our homes and destroy the very heart of our nation, as well as the nations of the world. Prayer for the Day Deliver us, your people, from lust, perversion, pornography, and all other sexual sins. Let us hide Your Word in our hearts so that we will not sin against You. Cleanse our nation of its sexual perversions and deliver our young people from the devil's temptations. Heal those that have repented, not only emotionally, but also of any sexual disease they may have contracted before they found You. Give us pure thoughts and deliver us from the evil of our day. And Lord, if we are not guilty of any sexual sin, help us not to be critical of those who are. Let us help others by praying for them and believing for them to be set free. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen.
