MELLOW’S GYURI HOST FUNDRAISER BANQUET FOR PAW&HAND

On June 5th, a banquet was held to raise money to go towards the future PAW&HAND projects. Idols such as Lucid’s Minny, USIK, BIGBANG’s Seungri, and more contributed in support of the cause.

Earlier in the year, the idol announced the launch of the new organization, PAW&HAND. From there, the organization took off. Successfully, PAW&HAND were able to find loving homes for 4,000 animals and counting. All over South Korea, letters are written and sent to PAW&HAND, thanking the organization for efforts to help animals of all species find homes. But as a new organization, PAW&HAND still has a long way to go. Action has been made to continue the success of the organization. PAW&HAND announced during the banquet that their new website will be launched soon, and future plans to better the foundation are being discussed.

It was reported that 40.5M (KRW) in total was donated during 5 days after the banquet was held. On behalf of Jeon Gyuri, PAW&HAND’s spokesperson stated: “We thank everyone for their donations. PAW&HAND’s future will shine brightly because of everyone’s help. And because of the positive response that was received, we will like to give back half of the donations to foster children of Korea. As said before, PAW&HAND is a home to everyone. Thank you.”

U-SIK AND MELLOW’S GYURI HOLDS VLIVE DEBUTING DUET ‘SIMPLE LOVE’

On December 17th, U-SIK and girl group member Gyuri debuted their new duet title song ‘Simple Love’ along with a MV. It was stated all proceeds earned will be donated to Pohang city’s earthquake victims and Korean Animal Theme Park.

What do you like about working with each other?

U-SIK: The nice relationship Gyuri and I, like brother and sister, made the creation of the song be less stressful and more like a time to work, hard play hard. I think I enjoyed that the most.

Gyuri: Oppa is very determined succeed in his work. Even when circumstances appear to be grim. I think that’s why it was so easy to work with him. His energy vibrates the whole room. It’s hard to not feed off it.

What was the most challenging part of making the song?

U-SIK: Getting to decide on the same thing. Our age difference might not be too much, but we still have very different likes. It was very difficult to come up with a finished song that we both enjoyed.

Gyuri: I wanted the song to always stay fresh, no matter how many times you listen to it. The lyrics needed a special tone too, so it was hard to try to create something that has been done millions of times before. I think Simple Love has something different from your everyday love songs. It has a pureness.

 How do you relate to the song?

U-SIK: I think both Gyuri and I, at some point in our lives, like any human, crushed on someone, so these lyrics... I'm sure we can both relate- and many of you can relate to this song.  

Gyuri: When U-SIK and I were piecing the lyrics together, I thought of my dog. I remember seeing him for the first time and I instantly feel in love. Just him existing is reason enough to love him. So, I tried to think of that pure love I have for him. Haha, I have had the same feelings for people too, but they ended more tragic.

 Thoughts & conclusions:

U-SIK: I hope everyone can give a lot of love to Gyuri and the song we worked really hard on. Especially when we realized I would have to sing a tone higher than I'm used to. It was really fun, and I do look forward to helping not only Gyuri but Mellow in the future with their songs.

Gyuri: I wish everyone well listen to ‘Simple Love’ well and share it with your loved ones this Christmas season. I will also like to thank U-SIK oppa for working with me. Thank you~!

MELLOW’S GYURI HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE FOR NEWLY FOUND ANIMAL WELFARE ORIGINATION

On December 16th, Gyuri of girl group, Mellow, held a press conference announcing her newly found animal welfare foundation named, Paw&Hand.

During the conference, the idol gave a speech discussing the reasoning behind the start as well as the dreams she has set for the nonprofit origination:

“Paw&Hand was created in memory of my very beloved Bacon. He is the reason for my laughter throughout my childhood and as well as my adult life. Because of him, I was able to wake up every morning without constant worry. It was important for me to create this foundation because there are sweet helpless animals out there just waiting to gift their love. There are also young children who need a friend—a friend who can only understand them in a way no one else can. Paw&Hand can help both side of the spectrum to come together. This origination is more than a rescue group. Paw&Hand is a red string of fate. Our goal is to help animals to find families, promote animal adoption, and to spread joy to the young and elderly. This is only the beginning. My dream for Paw&Hand is to not only fund the needs of animals, but for people as well. For we live this one life. And together we will live it paw and hand.”

MOUNT RECORDS RESPONDS TO SOLOIST U-SIK’S AND MELLOW’S GYURI DATING RUMORS

After netizens affirm to have seen the soloist U-Sik and Mello member Gyuri together previously, the two were then spotted again together on December 6th on what appeared to be a date. The two idols quickly denied the rumors with vague responses. But recently the idols mother company (MNT RECORDS) fully addressed the rumors:

“The two (U-Sik and Gyuri) have been working together on a soon to be released project, therefore it is only natural for them to be seen together. Their time spent together is only for work purposes. U-Sik and Gyuri are both dedicated workers who put their full focus into the project. Throughout their time working together, there is no denying the fact that the two idols have grown close, but to assure the questionable public, it is not romantic related. They are purely sibling orientated and it will be frightfully ridiculous to assume otherwise.”

MELLOW’S JEON GYURI SEEN OUT IN PUBLIC 

On November 5th, Mellow member Jeon Gyuri had been seen being dropped off by public transportation and then leaving with a mysterious guy.

As seen in the photos, Jeon appears to be meeting up with an unknown male. Unfortunately, clear photos of the male’s face were unattainable, but there is no doubt that netizens will change that quickly. Netizens are already coming up with possible suspects.

This is not Jeon’s first rumored scandal. Around last year of late September, the idol had been rumored to be dating a close friend of hers. But MOUNT RECORDS quickly shot rumors down with a confirmation that the idol is indeed not dating. Many say that this time is different.

Further speculations are at a hold until an official statement is made by the idol’s company or herself.

Gyuri has dropped her first ever mini album ‘CLULESS’

The title song “CLUELESS” has been said to be Jeon Gyuri’s first hands on project. She stated, “I wanted to make my first album personal, that’s why I took the time in writing my own lyrics with the help of my fellow artist and producers.”

Returning with a new Music Video shortly after their original comeback with ‘One, Two, Three’, Mellow shows yet another side of themselves with the repackage version of their ‘Colors’ album, including Sun & Rain as their new title track. Another quirky and bright music video with Retro vibes as they sing about a relationship that gives them both happiness and sadness, at the same time. After making their return with their 3rd mini album colors on the 22nd of July, and achieving their first win with their title track ‘One, Two, Three’, the four girls have made their return with a repackaged version of ‘Colors’. Adding an additional three tracks of which ‘Day & Night’ will be promoted. The concept of the album takes the members’ individual assigned colors and adds a track to fit each color’s emotion. Adding a duo-tone (Sun & Rain) and the new color blue (No Control, which was picked to stand for the emotion and the feeling of  ‘Loneliness’) They add onto the previous colors with more emotion, closing off the album with their outro track ‘Colors’. Mellow one again show what they have in store!

GYURI DROPS SINGLE FEATURING LUCID’S MINNY

Today the Mellow member, Jeon Gyuri surprised fans with a Reggie style EP Single and MV, titled ‘THINK AGAIN’ featuring label member, Lucid’s Minny. ( @minny222 )

The new release single went unprompted, but fans did not fall short to support the idol’s work. Many were pleased of how well the two label-mates vocals blended in the unexpected track ‘THINK AGAIN’. In the MV, it broadcast a sassy, yet carefree side of the duo, matching along with bold and powerful lyrics. Though receiving a positive response, fans are setting the bar high for Jeon’s mini album to come and hope to see more features.

September 23, will be the release date of the mini album titled ‘CLUELESS’.

2K RECORDS ANNOUNCES MELLOW’S JEON GYURI FIRST SOLO ALBUM

Recently, fans had been speculating that the lead rapper of Mellow, Jeon Gyuri, will have a second solo project, and fans were right. Today, 2K RECORDS announced that the idol will release with a first mini album, titled CLUELESS, along with two MVs. The release date will be on 23 of September, which is also the birthday of the Mellow member.

That is all what 2K RECORDS had confirmed, but many are not convince that this would be all from the artist. Because of Jeon’s absence from the public eye, busy with film making, and only endorsing Mellow projects, fans believe 2K RECORDS are withholding further information about the singer’s undertakings.
