after hearing about narancia's death, fugo ran to a high balcony of one of the street buildings and screamed + sobbed for hours, painful cracks in his hoarse voice as warm, wet, glistening tears flowed down his face in a stream. the harsh, cold air hit his red face as his hair blew back in the wind. fugo's world truly crumbled that day.

Fugo: I'm not a touchy person, I don't like physical contact

tfw you experienced trauma and so the idea of physical contact is frightening, but as human beings, we still crave physical affection because at our core we are social creatures, and then you finally meet someone you can trust and who you let inside the walls you spent years building and who makes you feel like you’re an actual person and not a tool to be used or a danger to everyone around you, and so all those years of being completely touch starved catch up with you and you want to take every chance you can to experience physical affection because your so starved for it and never realized just how much you needed it and that you have all this love built up in your heart that you can finally show and have it reciprocated and you finally feel safe and happy for the first time in your life...

yeah. i think about this headcanon a lot hhghhfds. and it def seeps into my writing too lol!

characters who are both touch starved while also being touch averse are so interesting to me, because i think anyone can relate to the idea of wanting something on a very basic, inherently human level, but also being absolutely terrified of it. it’s not always touch, but i think everyone has something like that. and physical affection (and fear of) as a direct parallel for emotional intimacy (and fear of)... yeah, i like that lol!

AND if we really want to get into like, symbolism especially with stands... trish’s stand makes things soft, which often correlates to them becoming stronger and unbreakable. she is literally a soft and protected place for him on so many levels. (and in turn, he can use his experiences to help her come to terms with her own trauma and anger she feels. and they can become healthier, happier versions of themselves by being together and supporting one another.)

and idk. i think that’s a very nice dynamic for any kind of relationship, you know?

trish drags fugo out on a saturday morning to help her with shopping and in his half-awake state, he ends up carrying all her bags and makes small, mumbled comments on the outfits she tries on in the changing rooms. she smiles at his slight blush as she comes out in a pretty skirt and a wooly jumper. after they pay, the two walk back to the car with their pinkie fingers hooked together.
