Do you think The Sympathizer has the possibility of developing A Fandom and like, people writing fanfic, or is it too, like, literary for that?

it's hard to tell 🤔 i think with time it could possibly build a small but strong fandom

After all, it's got RDJ and Sandra Oh who both have a really huge fandom base. A lot of people have also been praising Hoa Xuande, Fred Nguyen Khan and Duy Nguyen and of course it helps that they are all really handsome dudes lol

i hope so ! it would be fun to discuss the show and book with more people

I'm so obsessed with Man from the Sympathizer and Duy Nguyen is so good, but IMDB is saying he's not in any other episodes,,,,, do you think they wrote him out of the ending? Or is he just played by a different actor/is he not listed on IMDB for spoilers reasons?

so i'm assuming you read the book because you mentioned the ending ??

if so, yes i'm like 99% sure he is not listed for spoilers reasons for non-book readers because previous to episode 2 airing he was listed for only one episode, but we now know he does make brief appearances in episode 2

i honestly don't think they'll write him out of the ending or cast another actor because the show has been making a strong point of showing how much the captain trusts Man (i'm assuming it's part of the buildup for the ending)

let's hope to see Duy again soon 🙏
