I was boiling. I was angrily taping my feet on the floor and my hands were fisted by my side as I tried my best not to blow up in front of everyone. (Y/N) and I had decided to throw a little party at our place with our friends to celebrate our betrothal… Of course, there was a lot of alcohol and a lot of things to eat and everyone was slightly tipsy by now; but that didn’t excuse anything. I was leaning against a wall; my eyes focused on my fiancée as she comfortably sat on one of our friends’ laps. I had seen the whole scene; she was walking past him when he called her and asked her something; she quickly answered and she was about to turn around when he grabbed her hand, tugged on her arm and made her sit on his laps. And she hadn’t moved since then. He had his arms wrapped around her and even though she wasn’t the one touching him; she still didn’t seem like she wanted to get up and leave. She had a cup in her hand and she kept sipping on it as she laughed at some joke the prick was telling. She eventually placed her cup on the table in front of her and looked around the room, probably for a bottle to fill her glass with. Her eyes fell on me and she smiled before finally getting up and walking to me. I let her come to me without looking away and she frowned as she got closer and realized that I didn’t seem too happy. “You okay?” she asked as he placed her hands on my waist and got on her tiptoes to kiss me but I turned my head to the side. “No, you’re not” she answered for me and I pried her hands away before turning around and walking to the kitchen. I heard her footsteps behind me and I rolled my eyes as I took a glass out of a cupboard and poured myself some water in it. I didn’t want to be drunk anymore. “Michael? Come on, what’s going on?” she asked as she placed her hand on my shoulder and tried to make me turn around. “Oh yeah, Michael, tell me what’s going on so that I can go back to sitting on my very good friend’s laps, come on!” I mimicked as I turned around and looked straight at her. She gasped and she stopped the hand that was reaching for me before crossing her arms over her chest. “What? Seriously?” she weakly let out as she searched for my eyes. “No, no! I’m joking” I replied with a smile and I saw her face soften; “if you guys wanna fuck there’s a guest room just down the corridor” I sweetly added before taking a step to the side to walk past her but she grabbed my forearm and I stopped. “Michael!” she protested as she placed herself in front of me and made sure I couldn’t escape. “I was only sitting on his laps, why are you reacting like that, you’re the one I’m engaged to!” “Yeah and I’m sorry but I really thought that when you said ‘yes’ it actually meant you were going to start being faithful” I retorted and I saw anger flash into her eyes. “What do you mean ‘start being faithful’? I’ve never cheated on you, Michael!” she raised her voice and a fake smile appeared on my face as I saw her get angry… She had absolutely no right to be. “Well from what I’ve just seen; it’s just a matter of time” I spat back and she took a step back as if I had just slapped her. “How can you say that? Oh my god, just sop already! I don’t want to fight with you; I’m not going to talk to any other boy tonight if that makes you happy but please don’t ruin the party” she said before raising an eyebrow as if she was waiting for me to answer. And hell was I going to. “Can you please just stop pretending that you didn’t do anything wrong and I’m just acting crazy… Like you always do!” I started yelling and I knew all of our friends were just in the other room but I was just too mad to stop now. “Like I always do?” she repeated even louder and I nodded before pointing a finger at her. “Yes! You always do that! Whenever we’re fighting you always treat me like I’m a child and like you’re right and I’m just not smart enough to see that! But guess what? You’re lucky I’m ready to marry you because no one else would ever want to do that” I screamed and she took a step back as I saw her eyes start to water. “What did you just say?” she murmured, her lips parted. “I’m just saying that maybe you should be a bit nicer with me because if I leave you, you’ll spend the rest of your life alone” I repeated and I saw her face contort in pain just before she turned around and started walking away from me. But I wasn’t done yet. She had told me once how she was scared I was going to turn away from her one day… That I’d see nothing but her flaws and just leave her… She always said that she was lucky she found me because she knew no one would ever see her the way I did. That wasn’t true. No one would ever love her the way I did… But I knew that people could definitely see what I saw in her. She didn’t know how many times I had had to snap my fingers in front of my friend’s face while she came back home wearing a tight skirt and heels that made her look like a goddess. She didn’t know that I had caught a boy readjusting himself once while we were both spending a few hours at an hotel’s swimming pool. She didn’t know either that one of my cousins was madly in love with her… and that I had tried to keep him away because he didn’t only see her beauty; but also her generosity and how funny she was… She didn’t know that and I didn’t want her to. I was hoping that knowing that she was the most perfect girl in my eyes would be enough for her. And there was also that tiny part of me that thought that if she had any idea how beautiful she really was; she would try to seduce someone better than me… And I knew she would succeed. “Yeah because you know what? No one would put up with your shit on a daily basis the way I do!” I screamed as I followed her through the apartment. Everybody turned their head toward us and I ignored them as she grabbed her coat. “No one would be as patient as I am with you when you’re being clingy as fuck even though you know I’m tired!” I added as she put her coat on and walked toward the door. I didn’t want her to leave. No, I… I didn’t want her to leave. “AND NO ONE WOULD EVER WANT TO HAVE TO SEE YOU NAKED EITHER SO YOU’RE LUCKY YOU HAVE ME!” I yelled just as she walked out and slammed the door. My shoulders fell down as silence filled the room. I closed my eyes and tried to pretend that I hadn’t seen her tears strained face just as she left. My eyes stayed on the door as I suddenly realized what I had just done.  I had just thrown all of her insecurities in her face. And in front of all our friends. I had just purposely humiliated her because I was afraid she was going to leave me. I turned around and every one was looking at me. I could see in their eyes that they were judging me and I searched for a face that would comfort me but I didn’t find any. “I can’t believe you did that” her best friend said as she walked past me and straight to the door. Everything started happening in slow motion after that. Everyone started to leave and then all of a sudden I was alone, really alone and I didn’t know if I would ever stop being alone after that. I started to panic and I frantically took my phone out of my pocket before dialing (Y/N)’s number. I had to talk to her; I had to apologize… I just… I had to… Oh god… What could I do? I heard a buzzing come from my right and I turned my head to see that her phone was here; and that she obviously wasn’t going to answer. I let out a loud sigh before standing up and taking it in my head. I didn’t know if it was the right thing to do but I went through it and searched for (Y/BF/N) before hitting the green phone button. “What?” she snapped right after picking up. “Where is she? Please tell her I’m sorry, I’m so sorry” I begged and she let out a sigh. “She’s with me but you better not show your face here” she warned. “Please let me talk to her” I pleaded. “She doesn’t want to talk to you” she said before hanging up. And then I started crying. I cried the whole night long and tried to call again but she didn’t answer. I tried to convince myself that I hadn’t completely lost her but truth was I probably had. So I cried some more and didn’t sleep nor eat for two days. I just cried. She entered our apartment two days later, without knocking, she just came in. I lifted my head up and my lips parted as she walked in without looking at me. “I huh… I don’t really know how to…” she started before letting out a big sigh. “Are you breaking up with me?” I weakly asked and she quickly looked at me with wide eyes before looking down at her feet again.
