1970s canned goods label designs, from The Art of the Label by Robert Opie. We can see the Helvetica type family really taking hold in this era. And that Biba can was not a regular market item; those were high-fashion baked beans.
My favorite design of the lot: meat and liver cat food.

Experimental shoot- Youth Culture
Tumblr media
For this shoot i went to my friends house with some friends and photographed us in their room. The photo looks somewhat like a movie still, after the main characters successfully rob a store and they’re celebrating. I tried to show youth here by using visual prompts such as hand gestures covering our faces and showing off our assets. Today’s youth culture is very against the police and the government, and we don’t want to be known or seen by them, a way we tend to do this is by keeping our faces covered in photos and videos to hide our identity. Youth culture also seems to copy rap culture a bit, where people often photograph themselves with their money and jewelry to show off. The purple lighting hints at nightlife in the city and that glamorous sort of lifestyle we see in movies and music videos. I really like this image as it embodies all of the feelings and vibes of that night pretty well. I also think it’s a good starting point for my main project where i will be documenting what we do in the night.

Experimental shoot- Long exposure
Tumblr media
For this shoot me and my friends photographed ourselves where we usually hang out in dartford park. I really love this picture i think the colour palette works well with the blurriness from the long exposure times and the overall vibes this image gives off. When i look at this picture i see me and my friends from the perspective of someone being burried, passed out on the floor, or waking up from some sort of trip. The image itself is very gothic which works well with our dark clothing making the image very eerie and ominous, as well and the camera angle making us look powerful and important.

Experimental Shoot- Scapes
Tumblr media
For this shoot i photographed a cityscape in the reflection of the thames. I photographed this in Greenwich by the O2 arena. I really like how the city building has reflected on the water creating this underwater cyber city which is quite interesting to imagine and let your mind wander when looking at the image. i also like how dark everything is compared to the lights really making them stand out.
