A low, condescending chortle could be heard, resonating eerily from no particular location; the echo seemed to procure from multiple directions of the frost warrior's vicinity. From the shadows the smaller woman appeared, her dual-colored hues gleaming vehemently -- despite her desire to scare him, she knew tall too well to be cautious of his disposition. Instead, her thick arms snaked about his bicep as she hugged her form against him. "You didn't forget about our little bet, did ya, Sug'...?"
As the sound of laughter had surrounded him, coming from all directions Daelas halted his step. The General extended his right arm as the rune in his palm began to materialize the claymore. Generally those who walked in the shadows seemed to prey on him, even more so lately. But as the arms hugged his left and the accent was made clear his heart steadied it’s beat and his head turned to face the woman. Hooking his left thumb in his belt, the cold depths of his eyes looked to her and the abyss of the mans soul looked upon her. “I didn’t forget our bet.” He’d say rather softly as the skull of ice began to mask his face. “I don’t lose however. I wouldn’t be a General if I did.”

“Rage is a very complex emotion as it stems from any negative emotion. You don’t just start with rage, you start with anger, sorrow, anxiousness, loneliness, or even regret. Rage is a very powerful emotion in it’s complexities because it removes all other emotions from your being, you lose fear, you lose happiness, you lose your morals and your pride. It pushes you to different lengths you never thought you’d see, you never thought you ascend to. But when it fades, and you’re left to deal with the consequences of your actions you find it difficult to come back from what you’ve said or done. It becomes an overly used excuse, a crutch, or even false belief in yourself. The only emotion that gives you a heightened feeling aside from happiness, it gives you a high you grow use to and you try to live within it for the rest of your time because it’s easier to obtain than happiness, it’s easier to trigger to remove the pain your in, the loneliness you feel, or the anger that has consumed you. It’s the easiest answer to all your mistakes.”

"Can't really be anyone without a power.. your weakest times may define you, you'll find yourself alone.. But in your most powerful times it seems like everyone surrounds you for good, bad, or indifferent. You just pick the lesser of two evils I guess when you face the path of if you're going to grow again, or let it swallow you."

Daelas hadn’t even heard her, something he should of expected being in her own home. Casually, he turned the pages of her grimoire. This was more of a broad study, not searching for anything in particular. For the first time in over a year, Daelas had been at his peek again within his elements of power which prevented Lumi’ from knowing his presence was there as he hid on purpose. Her voice as usual startled him at first, perking his ears as his heart skipped a few beats. “It opened for me when I entered the room, I assumed you had-” The tracing of his ear paused his words and caused a slight shiver to grow over his spine. He wasn’t usually touched, and when he was it was even more unfathomable that it was gentle. But it ended there was her teeth nipped against the flesh and his cold eyes looked upwards searching for her. The fog in them was present as it purged from his pupils. As she asked how it was opened, he just chuckled and finished his sentence. Why he felt the need to explain himself first? Well it was likely his life long military career. “Left a note tucked in here somewhere for me since it opened, but I hadn’t found anything.” Shutting it as her fingers explored over his shoulder, a quick squirm happened within the chair. Tense and taunt were understatements. Large muscles generally were rough, lacking tenderness but stress had added to the solid figure. Once she climbed over the armrest, his figure went from taunt to frozen. When someone was this close, usually it wasn’t out of any worldly loving moments. PTSD surfaced and the urge to fight haunted his eyes. As her arms came out around his neck, and she brought her face into the crook of his neck his heart finally started to settle. A low, long sigh was released while she brushed her nose along his jaw. Once settled, the feeling of her fingers exploring his hair caused his eyes to close and a portion of the tension to fade from him. “Did you have a bad day?” He questioned sincerely as he placed the book on the arm rest of the chair. Draping his other arm across her lower back, he tilted his head enough to keep his cheek against her head.”Don’t be to nice to me now.. you might confuse the way I see the world.”

💑 for Daelas @frostandbanners
Night had fallen,  the light dying beyond the curtains as Luminarra entered the sitting room and paused. Arching a brow her gaze stared right through the chair by the hearth and its single occupant. How’d she’d missed feeling his presence was a puzzlement that irritated her on some level. Even his scent had been masked as if his being had been nothing more than smoke and shadows. His twin brother had never been able to do that, even in his most advanced disguises.
The sound of turning pages was loud in the otherwise quiet room, his figure reclined in her favorite chair. On bare feet the petite mage came up behind him,  a faint smile curling her dark lips, “General Frostmancer, are you enjoyin’ my grimoire?”
A single finger traced the shell of an elegantly tapered ear from lobe to tip, before she leaned down and gentle nipped the sensitive flesh. Heated breath ghosted his ear with a whisper, the barest hint of teeth kneading that delicate flesh, “However did you coax it to open for you? It usually only works for me.”
Small hands slid across his tense shoulders, her lithe frame shifting to the side of the chair. Crawling over the armrest the mage laughed when he finally closed the book,  felt his body going tense when she settled into his lap. Arms snaking around his neck the woman nuzzled up under his chin and along his jaw in what might have been consider an affectionate gesture.
Taking in his scent, now that she was so close, Lumi pressed in against the male, nudged her nose along his cooler skin. The slow path followed the strong line of his jaw until she could cuddle into the crook of his neck and shoulder and simply held him.  Her fingers stroking soothingly through his white hair with a tender murmur.

The truth burns.
“By gods blood has never bothered me to this extent, it’s really going to hinder my military career if I even get permission to be a soldier again..” Daelas groaned to himself as he left the scions establishment. Passing through the wards he felt the same resistance as before, his armor shook and the upward push became overwhelming. Feeling like he was going to be shot into the sky. But as he finally made it past he took a deep breath with relief. It wasn’t long before he picked up the pace, in a true hurry to get out of there.
Just as he made it onto the road, the darkness of the night grew thick, a sense of magic he knew all to well. Just as it turned completely black, red eyes opened as the shadow of a man approached him. ‘Hello brother, I heard you’ve been looking for me.’ Phlare said with arrogance as Daelas stopped in his path. “Phlare, brother I’m relieved to see you. I have so many-“ Phlare swiftly cut him off. ‘I smelt her on you weeks ago.’ Swallowing hard, Daelas reached a single hand out towards Phlare. “I think I’m sick, Phlare and I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
Phlares apparition laughed with amusement as the hand faded through him. ‘I’d actually be here, if I were here to help you brother.’ Daelas fell silent, the feeling of being alone crept over his soul again and his ears wilted back. ‘New look, new you? The armor isn’t like you but I love what you did with your hair.’ Phlare said tauntingly as the Shadows grew heavier. ‘How’s it feel, anyways? For once you’re the fuck up. Everything you had is finally taken from you and where is our little light bound friend hmm? She’s clearly not with you. Were you only good enough for a one night stand brother?’ Daelas closed his eyes, attempting to dismiss the topic casually. “Phlare our mother is back..” Daelas said with defeat in his tone, but Phlare chose not to even acknowledge his statement. ‘Your soul is growing cold brother. You’re scared, you’re lonely, and you’re angry. No one is coming to you now when you need them the most. No one. I spent years feeling this way. I tried everything, drugs, magic, alcohol and even casual partners and I never cured myself of this. We may be twins but the difference between you and me is I want to live and I actively try to stay alive and you want to die. I guess all that power you hold will finally get you killed.’
Opening his eyes Daelas dropped his arm to the side. “Brother., I-“ swiftly he was cut off again. ‘You what? I already know. You don’t know what to do, you’re alone, it’s the holidays and your little holy savior abandoned you. She abandoned you because you aren’t me, Daelas. You aren’t my type of dangerous, you don’t keep her on her toes and your honor and dignity bore her. She needs the opposite of what she is, you’re exactly what she is but you can’t save people. She’s a healer, holier than the light itself and you? You don’t need healing or saving because you’re a savior yourself. You won’t see her again, she used you. As for the family issues? Gods is this great..’ Phlare began to chuckle again as the shadows vibrated across Daelas armor. ‘Instead of being after me, they’re after you and I’m the only one who knows how to stop them. But as you told me time and time again, that’s a you issue and you were taking no part in the family feud. Now it’s your issue and I’m going to do the same. I’m going to watch you suffer as they ruin your life like they did mine. I’m going to find the holy girl and remind her of our deal and that she belongs to me. I’m going to take out your loyalists one by one so you’re left to fend truly for yourself. I’ll let you learn what hatreds like before you let all that power consume you. Then, I’ll watch as you use that very power to slowly kill yourself and once you’re dead? I’ll clean up the mess and move back into our home, I’ll sit on the very throne again and I’ll rebuild my empire. All while you drift away like the snowflake you are. Gone in the cold storm you bring.’
Daelas didn’t have many words, the depth of the loneliness was in his eyes as he stared pleadingly at the apparition of his twin. “Brother, please I need-“ Bursting out loudly Phlare growled. ‘How does it feel to need, Daelas? How does it feel to be alone and weak, lost, hurt, and confused? How does it feel to have everything taken from you, for the one you're infatuated with to never return to you? How does it feel now brother! Where is your high horse! Where is your unshakable morals and dignity! I owe you nothing, and I look forward to watching you fail every step of the way. You’re now a monster just like me and the depth of you is swallowing you whole Daelas. You’ve said many times you’ll send those to whatever nirvana they choose. But what of you brother? The Shadowlands will reject you. You have no affiliation to the light, to the earth or to fel and demons. Odyn won’t have you, and what you resemble is already dead. So what of you when you die? That is your eternal torture Daelas, loneliness. I can’t wait for it to swallow you whole. Who’s the stronger one now brother? Because it’s certainly not you, you have nothing and will soon have even less.’
Before Daelas could respond the shadows had faded and Phlares apparition was gone. Standing there, the lonely depth in his eyes found the ground in defeat. “Happy Holidays, brother.. I hope still to this day, that your love one day remembers you and returns to you. We all know you only play games when you aren’t happy. My life or not, I want you to be happy..” Slowly Daelas began to make his way down the path. Foolish for him, he was walking right into where the Worgens roam. “Happy holidays..” Daelas repeated as he approached a dying tree. Leaning his back against it he slid to sit and his eyes looked back down the path towards where Phlares apparition was. “Don’t worry, brother.. I don’t expect a card.”

Curiousness and Ambition go hand in hand: Part three
“So this crown will do it?” Daelas said, once again in casual attire. Spinning it around his wrist, he felt the wake of the waves pushing the tiny sailboat towards the beaches on Stormsong. “I just have to want it bad enough..” The thoughts of the tormented man were brought to the surface as the boat washed up on the beach. Adrenaline started enhancing his blood as the memories of this very spot haunted his gaze. The very place started all off his problems, how foolish he was to trust the other factions notion of peace. Stepping out of the sailboat, still spinning the crown around his wrist he began retracing his steps. What felt like should be a battlefield was simply just a peaceful beach. It felt like time was standing still, his own voice haunting his mind as he screamed for a portal, then as he screamed for retribution from the betrayal of not just his battle mage, but the human rogue he spared who ordered the siege blast that ultimately ruined him. His gaze caught the little Alliance stronghold, and the sun just began to rise on the horizon. “I just have to want it bad enough..” He muttered again as the crown suddenly stopped. Slowly, he rose it to rest on his head. Just as his other suits, the runes upon the crown illuminated and the cold breeze came across the beach. Power was once again within his reach, just barely at his fingertips.
The humidity in the air began to turn to snow as the small flakes began to cover his body. With a single bright flash, the armor was summoned to his frame. The style was much different, far more bulky than his usual equipment and it hadn’t been modified by engineers yet. The coloration was entirely different, where he use to favor his reds and golds this time he gave off a much more neutral scheme. White and blue, the frost runes on the armor fogged up as they left a cold trail with each step he took. “Oh.. i want it..” He said, extending his right arm outwards as a new two handed blade hilt began to materialize within his hand. Slowly the blade formed as Daelas walked towards the stronghold. A sheet of ice covered his face, the skull appearance masking who he was and the fog it gave off covered his ears. Walking towards the doors of the stronghold, two of the early morning guards caught his path. ‘Halt! State your business here!’ There words didn’t stop his casual stride, and nor were they even prepared for what was to come as the cold, furious winds surrounded Daelas once again as they did with his previous march on this very beach. Stopping in his tracks far before he reached their gates, his left hand extended forward as the mixture of dark green and purple tendrils shot from the death rune upon his palm, splitting in the center as he gripped both men from their towers down to the ground.
Before they could even react to the pain of landing forcefully from that drop, Daelas swung the sword violently in a downward slash, though it hadn’t even hit either of them. The storm around him was thrown forward and the winds cut through them effortlessly, freezing the blood of their sliced remains in the air as the winds smashed against the gate forcing it open. The bang was more than noticeable, but Daelas wasn’t here to go unnoticed. Daelas was no longer going to go unnoticed.. Walking into the stronghold as the guards lined up. ‘Fire!’ One shouted as they rose their rifles. The sounds of gunshots and spent casings hitting the rough stones of the strongholds ground should of been a sign of victory. But as each bullet hit Daelas, nothing but icy shards came off of his frame and no damage was done to the armor. Charging in, Daelas Brought the hilt of the blade low and as he made contact with the line he swung it harshly upwards. The metallic smell from crimson washed away the burning sensation of gunpowder as the first man was split wide open, painting Daelas’s frame red. Dropping their guns, they swiftly drew their swords but it was of no use. Daelas slammed the blade into the ground and before the men could even swing, they all fell to the ground lifeless for a mere moment. At the top of his lungs, Daelas screamed as the ground beneath him began to rot, plague taking the stones and the men who had fallen began to rise once more. Nothing but a husk of whom they use to be. “I am a GOD!” Soldiers began to start pouring from their resting places. Stopping as they saw the horrific sight before them, stunned by the chaos Daelas was bringing to what they thought was their safe haven they all began to fumble around, trying to regather and prepare to defend themselves. “Where is he?!” Daelas shouted as the husks began to charge towards the barracks. Once making contact, they began tackling the men and ripping at their flesh. With haste, the soldiers began to defend one another as their blades started separating Daelas’s abominations limbs. But each time one of them succeeded, the husks would explode and the very plague would again infest the area. Dropping them like flies, this was like shooting fish in a barrel. The predator to his prey, he watched them all start to run in different directions. But as they tried to escape the husks would hunt them down, ripping off limbs and leaving nothing but trails and pools of blood in their wake. Standing in the very center of the stronghold, Daelas held his stride and began looking over the bodies. None of them were who he was looking for. A cry of rage over took him, and he screamed again. “This isn’t retribution! It’s gone beyond that, this is a sacrifice!” With that, the plague among the ground grew rapidly over the stronghold, decaying the small civilization. When Daelas was done, crops, grain, and even water if consumed would kill any remaining survivors, or anyone willing to come back and attempt to clean up his mess. As Daelas finished his words, the sick, deathly purple glow would shroud the stronghold and everyone left running would begin to scream. Their very flesh falling off their bodies and organs began to rupture. The foul stench of death had overtaken the stronghold and before long, there wasn’t a single soul left alive and Daelas was left unsatisfied. “Damnit..” He grumbled to himself as he began to walk towards the barracks, maybe the coward he was looking for died in there. After his first few steps, the faint sound of clapping caught his ears. Immediately, Daelas spun to face the direction of the sound. ‘Just like your father..’ Azezal had appeared, stopping just before Daelas’s magic could infect him. ‘A god? Just as arrogant as your father too. Though He was never this flashy, he was a fool but he hadn’t the need to flaunt as much as you and I. We get that from our mother.’ “Shut up..” Daelas demanded loudly, for once the man had actually spoken up with rage, even if it were misplaced. “I’m not coming back with you, you already know this.” Though Azezal laughed at Daelas, just as he did before. ‘I was told to bring you back dead, or alive little brother. So you might want to rethink our offer. See, we know your problems, we know you’re-’ Daelas quickly cut him off as he pointed his blade in Azezal’s direction. “I said shut up!” Shaking his head, Azezal yawned as the demon scaled body began to shimmer. ‘Sad, you’re scared, and you’re pushing people away because you’re lonely. You don’t know what’s wrong with you and frankly you have no control over yourself. All this new motivation and ambition.. Whatever will you-’ Suddenly the air began to grow cold around Azezal, silencing his words. “I said.. Shut up..” Daelas growled as Azezal quickly lost the air from his lungs. He began scratching at his throat, unable to escape Daelas’s magic. “After what you did to Phlare, you have no voice in my well being. This is your only chance to walk away, I’m going to release you. Killing you will only cause me more problems in the future so now I suggest you accept my offer, or you’ll fall to the same fate the rest of these disgusting humans did.” Releasing the spell, Azezal gasped for air as the mans wings sprouted from his back. Coughing, he knelt down and the felfire glare rested on Daelas. ‘It’s time for you to learn your place, just as your idiot twin brother had too..’ Azezal growled, leaping from the ground as the fel fire in his eyes beamed down in chaos energy towards Daelas. As the beam should of hit Daelas it domed around him as the blue shell soaked the magic as all the runes decorating his armor illuminated. Harnessing the energy as the dust stormed around him. Unseen to Azezal, Daelas was ready and the cold storm blew the dust free of each of their relentless stares. Raising his left palm upwards to face Azezal within the sky the runes had faded aside from the single one within his palm. Coils of plague and horrors screamed from the spell as the destructive orbs burst free of Daelas’s rune, shotgunning towards Azezal as he flipped and spun through the air to evade the rapid fire of death magic bursting towards him. Forcing him to land, Azezal dashed for cover but as he turned the corner the mob of husks jumped towards him. Retreating back into the open a wave of chaos magic sweeped the ground, knocking all the husks down. Just as they went to stand, Azezal had spun swiftly all while releasing a chaos barrage at the horde of husks. Unlucky for him, he was standing in Daelas’s plague and now every husky he destroyed exploded with the same coiled energy Daelas had fired at him in the sky. Unavoidable damage was taken as the demon scales decorating his flesh took the bashing of death magic, infecting them just as the disease they were. A strong sense of weakness crept over him as he felt his very being grow warm, Azezal knew his weakness was now exposed. Just as the dust settled from the explosion Azezal dashed towards Daelas, but even then Daelas was one step ahead. All while Azezal was busy with the minions, Daelas aimed his blade into the sky and the valkyrie had come to land in front of Azezal. With a swift boot to Azezals chest to send him fly backwards into the barracks wall, Daelas’s voice screamed out. “Good bye, Brother!” Drawing back its bow, the unholy light surfaced at the arrows tip and a strange humming sound took over the lands. The string was released from the valkyrie's fingertips and the unholy energy was sent towards Azezal in its concentrated state. Wrapping his wings around himself as the blast punched holes through the flesh of them. The demon scales weren’t just shattering, the unholy energy was consuming them and the ones that survived began to fall off his flesh. The rotten stench of plague and fel filled there little battlefield once the unholy light had faded, so did the valkyrie. Pushing himself weakly to stand, Azezal roared in rage. ‘I will not die that easily!’ With a last effort, he lunged towards Daelas, claws aiming for his upper body. As he drew close, the two handed blade dematerialized and the runes upon Daelas’s palms summoned the twin blades equipped to this armor set. Slashing upwards as Azezal connected, it broke his stance and the claws unscaled felt the blades cutting through the plagued flesh. Daelas wasn’t prepared for one thing however, Azezal had spun around and sprouted his wings, knocking Daelas from his feet to his back. Leaping down on top of him, Azezal began strike rapidly against the ice face mask. Shards of ice and puffs of snow burst from Daelas’s face as the rapid strikes seemed endless. But just as Azezal thought he was going to crack Daelas’s defense a burst of frost fire escaped Daelas’s mouth, exploding through the mask as it doused Azezal’s exposed flesh. Melting away what was left, Azezals hands went to cover his face as he fell backwards off of his brother. The screams of agony that were produced were loud enough to wake the dead as Azezal felt his blood begin to boil next from Daelas’s magic. Each little blood cell’s oxygen only fueled the fire more as the tips of his claws burst open from the pressure. Standing casually, Daelas walked over top of his brother as the plated boot came down harshly against his face. The cold storm ripping apart Azezals body as if Azezal had swam to close to a coral reef. “I said, good bye brother.” Daelas announced calmly as he drove both twin blades down into his stomach, twisting them to separate his spine. The ruptured smell of burnt demon blood filled his nostrils, causing his face to enter disgust under the mask. Releasing the blades as they dematerialized, the ice mask had faded away and Daelas turned to walk free of the barracks. “What I wanted, wasn’t here..” He’d say with rage in his tone. Making his path to exit the stronghold, Daelas hadn’t even looked back at the chaos and destruction he caused. Truly, he wasn’t even going to acknowledge it at all. Once his feet were off the plague tarnished land, he looked to the faint stray tall blades of grass poking through the sand. Kneeling down, his hand extended to one as his plated fingertips gently traced the blade. Expecting it to die to his touch. But as it didn’t, his head tilted as he was fascinated at the sudden sense of control he had. Unknown to him, the shadows had their ways of talking and just as he stood the soothing, pitied voice of a woman echo’d behind him. ‘Avitu, my little love.. What have you done this time?’ The voice caused him to freeze in place, for once in a very long time Daelas was terrified. Just like when a boys mother catches him in the act of doing something wrong, those emotions weren’t ever so true. “Mother..” Daelas muttered softly before turning around. Standing before him, with long wavy black hair was the General was his mother. Before he could speak, her hands extended upwards to cup his cheeks, the pads of her thumbs traced his cheekbones and he stared at her in disbelief. “You’re suppose to be-” She chuckled very faintly, interrupting him quickly. ‘Phlare’s not skilled enough to kill me, my little love. I’m sorry it’s come to this, I really am.’ Just like a little kid, Daelas snarled and spoke out of turn. “Azezal had it coming-” Once again, his mother interrupted him. ‘No, not him. He’ll be fine, I will do as I did before. I’ll rescue his body and bring him back once more. I’m sorry you, are so torn inside. A mother can see her sons wounds, and your heart and mind are fighting a war and neither are winning my little love. Come home, be with your people. You can’t be my little prince any longer, you’re a man now.’ Suddenly, Daelas started to feel like a pawn in the families little game. Even if he didn’t have any proof of it yet, he knew of his twins history and he’d be damned to be played like a puppet. “I like where I’m staying currently, thank you mother.” Sighing defeated, she released his face and placed her hand upon his chest, over his heart. ‘I never thought I’d see your father again, you know.. After Phlare destroyed his legacy and left your father in the same pile of burning bodies. But, I saw him again today. I see him in you, Avitu.. It’s strange because I want to remember I was only in it for the power, the knowledge but you? I want to hate it in him, but love it in you. You see what burdens a mother carries, my little love?’ Lacking an answer, she knelt down to Azezals burnt and ruined frame. ‘You’re wounded too, Avitu. Your hair lost its hue, your eyes are dull and lastly you feel so alone. We all know you feel alone, Avitu. My little love, just come home..’ Daelas hadn’t even noticed that the amount of energy had turned his hair white, turning to the beach he began looking at his reflection in shock. “I’d rather be alone, or dead mother than come back home with you, and your little group of misfits you believe to be worthy of ruining one of your sons lives. We’re going to have a long talk about Phlare, and I better like the results to my questions. I’m no longer your little Prince, I’m no longer your little love, and I’ll be damned if I’m Avitu. I’m General Daelas Frostmancer, and you?” Daelas looked over his shoulder to find that Azezals body and his mother were gone. A portal beneath his feet began to open as he charged the runes once more. “You’re actually my enemy. The one who started it all..” As his words finished, the portal sucked him in as it took him away from the tarnished place, the unfolding of his chaos, the release of his rage, and lastly.. His self pity of being who and what he was. Alone.

I got these thoughts inside my head that I’m too afraid to talk about, because if we talk them out there will be nothing left to talk about.
