Going through autism assessment as an adult is hard - all the questions are about things you did as a child and if you have nobody around from when you were a child it#s quite difficult - I think I managed to 'do' autism whilst there though as I said I had a weird memory for food related things and then I listed all the dishes on the eight menus of the main dinning rooms of royal carribean cruise line, she asked if I could do it with other places and asked for the simpsons restaurant at disney - to which I told her off because it's at universal - she then asked me how many time I'd been to disney world or on a Caribbean cruise and I told her I never had and I don't think I ever will....

So yeah, did I 'do' autism? I didn't make eye contacts, I could't pretend the clothes peg was a man called Brian? They showed me picture of bombed out buildings and crying children and asked me what they were feeling - I said I imagine not particularly happy, and then they said yeah and pulled this over exaggerated sad face - am I meant to do an over exaggerated sad face? I don't know all very confusing.

I have had an entire day and a half of writing time as I signed up for cat sitting/house sitting to focus on my writing without kiddo around.... But now there's a cat dat on my laptop and refusing to move.

Should I run away with the circus? Again, I mean.

So spent hundreds of pounds on train tickets, on hotels to take my son to the world's oldest permanent circus. It had classically train ballerina's dancing between every act, live music for every act, and performers from all over the world, it had acrobatics done blindfolded thirty feet up, it had a teenage boy doing thirty backflips in a row on top of one of his brothers feet. It had clowns that were full of puns, current jokes and interactions with the audience - we were right in the front and then the whole ring lowered into the ground and flooded with water so the final act could be performed on a tiny platform surrounded by water fountains.

My kid was so bored. ..

Like completely unimpressed.

He kept asking me when we could go home.

I give up.

Hate Speech Laws - Rowling

Oh, J.K.Rowling is actually doing something right - in a wrong way but...

The new hate speech laws in Scotland were pushed through to give the police extra powers, under it people can accuse you of spreading 'hate' even if the conversation happens in your own home. The majority of people do not support it, as many see it as taking away too much freedom but it was pushed through parliament anyways.

Even ignoring the ideological issue - it was pushed through fast, with little training for the police how to enforce it, and no extra police resources given to deal with the vast influx of 'hate speech crimes' - now, yes, I admit some of this might get horrible people of the Internet but a whole lot of people are just going to start reporting neighbors, teachers ect ... Who have annoyed them. It is extremely open to abuse. The online reporting forms allow you to anonymously make a report.

So far - in no surprises whatsoever the Scottish police themselves were reported to be breaking the new laws over language they used to describe working class white men (thank you Scotland's Indian alliance for fighting that one) and had to remove parts of their website. And the current Scottish leader has had thousands of hate speech reports against him for a speech he gave about how there were too many white people in power in Scotland (diversity is important but Scotland is still a white majority country, as is the UK, and the top three politicians in the UK are of south East Asian background - when south East Asians make up 2% of the country - which isn't a problem until you start complaining that too many white people are in power when actually based on breaking down the racial percentages of the UK there is becoming an underrepresentation- basically, he rubbed people up the wrong way) .

Anyways in comes Rowling, happily and blatantly breaking the laws on day one and calling the police to just arrest her - how is this a good move - well, she has a world wide audience and is drawing attention to this badly written and easily abused law. The police only have two options, arrest her and have a full very public trial putting every sentence of this new law under the microscope in a way it simply cannot stand up to.

2) Don't arrest her, proving the law cannot be enforced and hence is useless. Also if then arresting anybody else upon it they have the defense that the law is not being equally applied as - look at J.K.Rowling.

So basically - Rowling is calling out the Scottish government on this one. Is increasing scrutiny and awareness of what is a badly thought out and easily open to abuse law.

Obviously, hate speech on the Internet is an issue. Something should be done about it, and yes - people in the UK are arrested for making serious threats against people online, but this law is seen as many to be an overreach that give too much power to the police.

Today on strange thing's i've done in the name of writing - Started a course in ethical hacking so I could write about hacking.

Just wrote 1420 words in less than an hour, that's the best i've done in ages.

A few days ago I said to my husband I should write a book about...

He told me - Yes, Do IT. I want it ready to read in two months.

That's 1333 words a day I think. So, I am currently ahead!

World Book Day

Sent my son to school as Hiccup Haddock, without any conversation or planning his best friend went to school dressed as Toothless.

Mine- ones D37 the other is T10. In the shadow they look brown so when the light shines on my face and sudden;y they look green people get really surprised and ask me 'how I changed the colour of my eyes' - it's just light and shadows and peoples assumptions.

So today I have the horrible task of meeting with a 'nurse' (sometimes they don't actually have any qualifications) that I should due to the deteriation in my health conditions and my neurodivergence be classed as disabled so I can access the support I need when I do actually go in for operations ect...

It's not like I want to be seen or labelled as disabled because we treat disabled people awefully in this country but that dousn't stop the fact that I am disabled. Having to prove to be seen as something, when you don't actually want to be seen that way is horrible.

I want to be seen for the things that I can do. Yet I have to go now and list all the things that I can't do. The whole process has really affected my mental health.

Is there anything when being sick with whatever bug your kid brought back from school and an endo period (which let's face it are hell periods) than being able to order a roast dinner in from the local pub?

In on the waitlist for surgery - I wanted to be on the waitlist six months ago but I got told to go away and think about it.... what is there to think about? It's a condition that REQUIRES surgical treatment, I really didn't have to do much thinking. Got to talk to the consultant today - pointed out I said I wanted surgery and he just said yep, it'll be a couple of months, I'll send over the consent forms... Why did I have to 'thi k about it' for six months? Surgery is the only treatment.
