back at it again with yet another installment of my historical AU

i cannot be stopped. except for that brief moment when i considered writing this AU but then realized i never will, so drawing random scenes it is

context: after being chased away from Chu Ying's house for being a disrespectful little shit ("isn't there a faster way to learn? ugh, what if i cheat?"), Shi Guang tries his hand at challenging Yu Liang.

It does not go well. Turns out Yu Liang, much like Chu Ying, doesn't appreciate that kind of attitude towards go.

Realizing his mistake and now ridden with guilt, Shi Guang returns to Chu Ying, begging him to teach him. For real, this time.

He will become a worthy opponent in his own right, and prove to Yu Liang that he isn't the person he thinks he is!

Qi Hun: LiangGuang

I dreamed that LiangGuang was made explicitly canon in the last episode. Then I woke up, remembered what the real episode 36 was like, and thought, “Close enough.”

But! I wanted to draw this very vivid scene from the dream anyway. Details of how they got into this position vanished upon waking but I think Shi Guang must’ve tripped over Chu Ying’s Go board after they’d played on it to determine who’s first board in the Hokuto Cup. Needless to say, this ended in a kiss. :)
