the thing about me is that i will NEVER complain about a series having too many weird hairstyles. the weirder the better. if two plot-relevant characters have the same color hair and vaguely normal haircuts it will take me three months to tell them apart
I’m not sure I’ve ever posted this version of this photograph before. When I posted it long long ago I made it all green and did other things to hide all the Ponyo art up on the walls behind Mr Miyazaki and Mr Suzuki.
I’m posting it now because I dozed off holding my phone and had apparently managed to click through and randomly almost post this photo. Then I woke up and stopped it. Then woke up some more and thought, it’s not 2007 any longer. It’s fine to post it.
It was an interesting choice to protect Billy Gun like that in the match vs Darby. I liked the match. I guess The Gun Club is the anime filler break for Darby/Sting?
Jade is growing and was good but I was impressed with how Red Velvet performed and kept the match together in potential rough spots. Random but they could be a really good tag team one day.
The back and forth convo between The Super Clique & Jungle Express was good. The fans in the arena copying Mark's catch phrase was great.
The main event was good the sub plot between Fish and Cole is interesting. It will be cool to see how it plays out and if Kyle & Kevin ultimately plays into all of this. The long game buddy.
Bryan Danielson vs Rocky Romero (LA Dojo - First Class): Rocky getting new blood into Chaos was smart. Because they really need it.
It was an awesome match between Dragon and Rocky. A really fun technical match.
I enjoyed seeing America Top Team steamroll the Inner Circle.
Anna Jay/ Tay Conti/Thunder Rosa vs Dr. Baker/Rebel/Jaime Hayter: I liked that Tony told the truth about Britt getting the hell away from Thunder Rosa fast in the match. I dug the match a lot. It was fun.
The hype vignette between Ruby and Kris was more stronger in Ruby's favor. But Kris was true to her character.
Anthony Bowens vs Jungle Boy: Max had some bars that made me laugh and I'm ashamed of myself...naw that is a lie lol.
I like how they allowed Jungle Boy to get him back within the match. Bowens future maybe as a singles. His done really well in his singles matches.
Bobby Fish is a sleeper agent. That attack on Jungle Boy was enough information. The backstage segment with Fish and the Super Kliq was on point. The play on words was clever.
The vignettes for the World Championship match and CM Punk vs Eddie Kingston was great.
Wardlow ran thru Yuta. I'm not mad at that. I hope Wheeler someday gets to tour with Nooj in the East.
Orange caught a bad one son.
I love how Eddie hit that speed burst and got away from everyone for a second 😂 I love how Ruby is in their as peacemaker. It is a reason for that. Using all of wrestling history for storylines is smart.
Matt Sydal/Lee Moriarty vs Dante Morgan/Lio Rush: That match was something they all shined. A great debut by Lio. The finish was great for storyline purposes as well.
Miro killed it with his vignette.
Dax Harwood vs PAC
Was a really good match with a realistic finish because Dax's ultimate goal is the tag team titles. Taking an injury into that match would undermine that.
I enjoyed all of the run in's after the match.
The vignettes hyping up the featured matches for Full Gear were really good.
I liked the contract signing. Adam has really grown into the lead protagonist role. I love how he weaved in the past to the present. I love how the fans went IDK about Kenneth being better Ibushi observation. The reaction made me laugh.
They had people thinking Don was fired sneaky but smart move for the story.
Punk back with the long boys lol. It was good opening match. It is kinda wild at Fish being used so well thus far in the company.
The House of Black vignette was on point.
MJF ran thru young Bryce in his debut. The segment with Darby and Sting was great.
The DMD interview was good plot moving content.
Sammy (TNT Champion) vs Ethan Page
I enjoyed the match. The flash finish protected Page.
Jericho's post match promo was effective.
Eddie and Bryan's segment was great.
Lucha Bros promo was money.
Hikaru Shida vs Serena Deeb
Another dope match between them. The Hart Foundation gear and Ring Post Figure Four made me really happy. The finish was nice protection. They have a GOOD feud going right now and no title is involved. You love to see it.
Lio brought the heat with his interview. Dante got a haircut!
10 vs Jon Moxley
Moxley ran right thru 10. All that blood man damn.
FTR said their piece and bounced. No more words were needed.
If you are a fan on the internet. I get why you didn't like that Cody promo. It was too inside and saying he'd never turn despite the fans being against him makes no sense. But that promo felt very heelish.
Andrade, Black and PAC made the segment great.
The main event was a lot of fun. I have no beef with their use of comedy in it.
Stairwell To Hell (NXT Women's Tag Team Championship Match) it started the show well. It helped Toxic Attraction in their push and everyone played their parts. It could've been more clean in execution but they'll get there in the future.
Carmelo and Trick got comedy timing together. I wouldn't want to go in that house either.
KLR's vignette was on point.
Jiro and KUSHIDA were right it is strange ish.
Malcom Bivens is so great. I'm really feeling Diamond Mine. Odyssey vs Roddy was on point.
I loved Imperium's promo. The use of subtitles was great.
Tony D'angelo keeps shooting I respect his game. Gonna be hard to get Lash Legend.
Mandy and Raquel worked hard and had a good match but it didn't live up to the history of big title matches in NXT history. It was great seeing Dakota but I don't want her stuck in NXT.
I loved Melo and Trick's adventure at Dexter's house.
Grayson gives off big herb energy. I'm glad Solo murked him.
Imperium and MSK had a banger that was a throwback to classic NXT. I was all the way here for it.
The main event did what it needed to do to further establish Bron as the future. When he did the Frankiensteiner I lost it. Chucky with the roast toward Bron's family made me laugh. Kratos was a great choice by Ciampa.
Strong opening segment with Becky, Charlotte and Bianca.
Round 1
1. Becky (Raw)
2. The Uso's (SD)
3. Bobby Lashley (Raw)
4. Sasha Banks (SD)
I laughed at Heyman thanking the higher power.
Priest vs Jeff Hardy was solid. The introduction of Austin Theory was interesting. I wonder if Jeff is gonna turn on SD.
Round 2
1. Seth Rollins (Raw)
2. King Nakamura (SD)
3. Damian Priest (Raw)
4. Sheamus (SD)
Shayna is heating up as a heel. Piper wasn't hear for any of it.
They stay snitching on Paul tho lol.
Round 3
1. AJ Styles & Omos (Raw)
2. Shayna (SD)
3. KO (Raw)
4. Xia Li (SD)
Big E and Drew's segment was good. The Fed are slick about when they choose to acknowledge the past in present storylines.
The tag match was effective.
Round 4
1. The Street Profits (Raw)
2. Viking Raiders (SD)
3. Finn Balor (Raw)
4. Ricochet (SD)
I liked the Women's Tag Championship Match.
Round 5
1. Kross (Raw)
2. Angel & Humberto (SD)
3. Alexa Bliss (Raw)
4. Cesaro (SD)
Seth be wilding SMH.
New Day vs Hurt Business was good. I don't have the baggage other people have with it. Because the company repeats matchups so much.
Round 6
1. Carmella (RAW)
2. Ridge Holland (SD)
3. Gable Steveson (RAW)
4. Sami Zayn (SD)
The main event between Bianca and Charlotte was pretty good. I didn't love the finish and the company doing Bianca dirty in her home state again. But that is what they like to do as a company.
