Finn’s grin splits his face, he almost can’t wait to warn them that he’s thrown someone new into the mix. “I kid about Lucky. He’s a good guy, I can share him with you.” It had just been a joke. Finn doesn’t have a possessive bone in his body. 

With how quickly his friend group grew after his set foot in California, he almost wants to share that same fortune. It’s cheesy, in a sense, but Finn’s never had any shame with it.

“You got it. I’m glad we crossed paths then tonight. You’ll find plenty of folks to befriend, especially living in the apartments.”

Every story of Finn’s starts there, with the names he previously listed, and more. 

Others were the diner and college, but Aurora Bay had a way about it in how friend circles flourished. Cole won’t have any issues, Finn would put his money on it.

“Yeah, I get that. East Coast vibe sticks with you, huh?” Cole nodded along, his gaze shifting to the floor briefly as Finn mentioned his upbringing. He could relate in some ways, having roots in places he both cherished and wanted to escape.

"Cricket, Lorelai, Darcy, Kayla... Got it." Cole made a mental note, the names unfamiliar but the descriptions painting vivid pictures in his mind. "I'm up for meeting anyone, really. Thanks for the heads up about Darcy, though. I'll make sure not to spook her." ....or not.

A faint smile tugged at the corners of Cole's lips as he considered Finn's suggestion about Lucky. "Guess Lucky's off the table then, huh? No worries, man. I'm not here to step on anyone's toes." He shrugged a hint of understanding in his voice. "Just looking to make some connections, you know?" Good, bad, and everything in between. @finn-brooks

“No, never hide dyed eggs, not unless you make a list and trust yourself to write every single one down.” They’d be found, eventually, sure, but there is more fun in finding the plastic ones with gifts inside of them. A five year old probably prefers hershey kisses and mini Reese’s cups over a hardboiled egg.

(Finn himself will happily make deviled eggs with the spoils, if he can.)

Finn grins at the mention of being honorary uncle, knowing that if Emma had been even half the spawn of Satan he wouldn’t be hiding Easter eggs for her. Jameson doesn’t need to know that. “I’d imagine prison would do that to a person. Not that I want you to have any negative results, but if you came out of there A-OK, that would admittedly be mildly concerning, wouldn’t it?”

I.e., it makes Jameson human. “I’d skip on every room and keep it where it’s accessible for her, don’t you think?”

“ honestly, I think entire apartment would end up stinking if they were the real ones. I wanna still end up dying eggs with her but I don’t think those are gonna be the ones I hide ever.” Jameson noted. He didn’t grow up in a household were dying eggs was a common occurrence around Easter season. Honestly up until they were living with their aunt the Cassidy siblings were mostly on their own with holidays. It wasn’t perfect but just the two of them wad better than having the negligent parents.

“ You’re probably her favorite uncle as it is, but you definitely would secure the position with this whole set up. I appreciate it and I know she does too” Jameson added; giving his friend a smile “ to be fair I didn’t have anxiety until I went to prison in for, but I definitely have it now and that little emotions gonna be the most relatable thing in the world” he added laughing a bit. After being out for a year it was a little bit easier to talk about his time away. “ depends, are we gonna do every room in the apartment?”@finn-brooks

"Nope." Finn makes a 'pop' sound on the 'p' of the word, all smug with his insistence. "I found other, more productive ways to blow off steam. I'm willing to bet you use the same leveling tactics from time to time."

Though, as Finn thinks about it, there hasn't been many a time where he's felt so angry he would be compelled to break something. Not even when his mother weaseled her way back in trying to pretend she didn't have a choice but to leave him the first time around.

He lets her take the dum-dum without any argument. "Sure. Sure, Wren. You just have this rage bundled up in this little body, it's going to have to explode at some point." Finn combs through a few more records, selecting one with a more retro looking pop art design painted on it. "Temptation- do I, darling? What do you think? I deserve this, don't I?"

"Oh bullshit. Come on Finny, not once have you broken something to get some frustrations out? Cause if not, you really don't know what you're missing. It's cathartic." Besides, the records were already broken so they were trash-bound anyways. Just the same though, Wren couldn't help but roll her eyes at his comment and she swiped the lollipop from him, popping it into her own mouth. "Me finding shit to break is therapeutic and avoiding creating war, thank you very much."

Theo listened intently to Finn's musings, finding himself drawn into the conversation despite himself. There was something captivating about Finn's passion for history, even if it was Valentine's Day trivia. "Salem, huh? That's pretty cool. I've always been fascinated by that stuff too," he admitted with a small smile. "It's wild to think about how recent some of those events were, considering the history behind them."

He nodded in agreement about Driftwood's likely offerings for the festival. "Yeah, you're probably right. Can't be too scandalous with the kiddos around," he agreed, chuckling softly. "But hey, pink whipped cream and heart sprinkles sound pretty festive to me. Who doesn't love a good theme? Let's go." @finn-brooks

"I don't have a huge bucket list of items to check off before I'm in the grave. I'm content. Beyond wanting my degree and living comfortably, my goals are rather subpar in terms of excitement. I just want to enjoy life slowly, I don't respect the hustle life. You would think I'd be interested in travelling the world to various historic works of architecture, so maybe that, but I'm not gunning to make it happen, either."

“It’s definitely a you thing, between the two of us. I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body.” By no means in Finn a pacifist — God, get him on a bad day and his tongue can cut the most resilient person to shreds, but when it comes to physically expressed anger? No, he’s never felt the urge.

"Afternoon, Mrs. Evans! Sneaking a treat?"

Finn pauses from where he stands at the counter of the booth, pointing at Liza with an impish grin as if he’s caught her in the act of something nefarious. Up until he’s laughing and dropping his arm lazily to his side. “Don’t blame you, darling. If I worked here, my dentist would have a strong word with me for the sweets I’d indulge in.” His eyes roam over the menu even though he’s long-since made up his mind. 

“I want to try the orange lavender tart. To start. I have the rest of the week to work my way through the menu.” Whenever he has off from school projects and the music shop. And Madison time — he owes it to her. “How’ve you been? And what about Wes? I don’t see him as much as I used to, we’re like two ships crossing in the harbor.”

location - sweet nothings booth at the festival

This time last year Liza's life was totally different but one thing that was still the same was how much she loved this festival and so she'd been working on the menu for weeks, wanting to try making new things that she felt people would enjoy. She was planning on spending a lot of the time with her husband and daughter during the festival but also wanted to make sure the bakery's booth was going well which is where she was now, setting out a fresh batch of macarons and she snagged one for herself, a bashful smile pulling onto her lips as some passerby's could clearly see her eating them.

"Just taste testing?" She offered with a laugh, "Can I tempt you with anything?"

CLOSED STARTER for @luckylewis

Finn’s crouched down to one knee, his camera out and ready, to snap a quick few photos of Lucky when he catches him through the spread out crowd of people milling about. How could he not with the palm trees and mountains in the back, and the way the orangepinklavender blended closer to the horizon? Once satisfied, he stands with mild protest coming from his body to greet him with a smile and a wave.

“How was Chapelle Roan?” he asks when the distance between them ceases to exist, eyes trained on the screen of his camera to flip through the photos. When he gets through to the best candid, he flips it around to show Lucky. “Lucky Lewis, Palm Springs edition. You’re looking sunkissed.”

He wiggles his eyebrows until he snickers. “And by sun kissed, you’re pink.” Finn can feel it on himself too. His sunscreen has worn, and there’s a subtle tight sting across the bridge of his nose. His complexion is more olive than Lucky’s though, so the sun will be more merciful on him.

“Water break? Ready for the next set? My last photo assignment isn’t until about eight, so you got me until then. It's not offering much, but it's something, and after, I'm entirely free.”

Finn’s face screws into an appalled look at the mere mention of him being a father-to-be. “Procreating is not on my list for the near or far future, Darc, so we can pretend you didn’t even consider the possibility.” He gets his fill when he steals Emma for ice cream dates, or sees Theo with Lucky in passing. Soon, he’ll snag Elise, once she hits the age of being potty-trained — Finn’s single rule when it comes to being responsible for a child for any span of time.

“It’s more on par with cupid’s emergence two months ago.” Longer than that, if Finn’s being honest with himself, that heart-shaped arrow got him long before Valentine’s Day.

Darcy gasped when she heard Finn’s voice. She was aways excited to see her friend and pseudo big brother. “Finnegan!” Darcy threw on a hoodie real quick and ran into the living room to greet him. “Big news? Are you having a baby? I feel like everyone is around here now days.” She laughed but then squinted her eyes at him, studying him, “you’re not… are you?”
