this rework of lamb has brought me to the realization that while she came into this existence with inherited - fragmented - knowledge & countless arbitrary memories stolen from the (assumed) dead, she desperately lacks real - world experience.

the minding of the estate, the mothering of her children, the stolen moments with strangers - they provided a shaky foothold into the world. what knowledge was bestowed upon her served to fill in the cracks, even if she still lacks the ability to apply it.

the disparity is bald & glaring. between what could be & what is. & so, like so many children born to the wood, to the wilderness, she hungers for more.
