Sex is honestly such a romantic and loving act, and it's such a shame it's been ruined by porn and extreme kink that has turned it into some disgusting and lewd thing.

I mean, seriously, the amount of trust that sex requires is unparalleled.

You have to trust that your partner won't hurt you. You have to trust that when you say something such as "stop" that they'll listen to you for no other reason than because you said so and they love you enough to listen, even at the expense of their own pleasure. You have to trust that they've been honest with you about their sexual history. You have to trust that they'll use protection (if that's what you guys agreed upon). You have to trust them enough to even allow them to touch you at all. You're completely naked and vulnerable. The most sensitive parts of your body are lain bare right before them, consensually. You've chosen to trust them with you in hopes that they won't hurt you (quite the opposite). How is all of this not the most romantic thing ever?

How is it not so breathtakingly romantic that two people have allowed themselves to be completely alone with each other in a vulnerable position without even so much as their clothes to protect them? How is it not the most loving thing to allow someone to approach you in such a state with their hands, nails, teeth?

I truly believe that "love making" is the name an act like sex deserves. It is such a shame that the image of sex has turned into a perverted thing. There are countless stories of people (mostly women) who have partners that are only focused on their own pleasure. Partners who want to hit them or spit on them or choke them, and get mad when they're met with resistance. My friend once told me of a time a guy choked her out of nowhere. I read a reddit post of a woman who was in pain during sex and she asked her boyfriend to stop, to which he said something like "when I'm done. Give me a second.". There are people who aren't even willing to accommodate their partner's needs and absolutely insist on trying things they saw in porn or doing an act that their partner doesn't care for or that might even hurt them (anal, deepthroat, etc.).

Sex these days is so selfish and coercive and unfeeling. It's not even sex. It's elaborate maturation. If you don't care about how your partner feels, or if you do things to them out of the blue, then you're not engaging in sex... You're just invested in getting yourself off and using them to help.

So uh why is radblr lately having so much infighting like why are we shaming other women for not perfectly fitting into your ideas of what a true radfem is. We’re supposed to be sisters we’re supposed to be working together and there will be disagreements because there’s so many different kinds of women out there! We should never wish suffering on each other even if we disagree. We can try to maybe give resources to each other and help each other learn different viewpoints but in the end let’s focus on what we have in common: we’re all women and we want to help other women!!!
