This human body, for as much of a detriment to my life as it is, does allow me to attend furry meet ups and conventions without being stalked and dogpiled. I also get inadvertent compliments sometimes, for example; "So why's your fursona a cat?" "Oh, I just think cats are really cool!" "(Why yes, we are) Cool"

This also applies to nonhumans who don't have good kindar. How many of my own kind have I walked past in my life without even realizing it? I'd argue the chance is ridiculously small if we're talking specifically other jaguarfolk, and then slightly less unlikely if I extend "my kind" to other anthropomorphic pantherinae. Still, it's a comforting thought that there's a non-zero possibility of befriending someone of the same species on Earth.

because like she's nearly fucked you to death at least once at this point and could have gotten over whatever lust had she for you if it was just lust. like she even basically tells you this is a one time (and maybe two time) thing to sate both of your desires

and like there's not a hint of anything different for the longest time. she doesn't flirt with you. she doesn't hint at wanting to sleep with you again. she doesn't make any real comments about the fact that you have. you're just going about your tasks like whatever

and then she just wakes you up in middle of the night and tells you that she's been OBSESSING over you and she can't take it anymore. like there have been NO hints of this, but apparently she's more distracted by thinking about you than she has about the tadpole in her head, her people trying to kill her, and her entire worldview falling down on her. she's literally like "I can't stop obsessing over you. I need you to beat me up right now."

and like the specific phrasing she uses to describe her obsession is WILD

so just remember every failed roll and fuck up you did between fucking Lae'zel and this moment because the whole time Lae'zel is like seeing that and like OBSESSING over it all. like your ass gets knocked down in battle and your face hit the ground and she's just seeing that like "I wish that (the ground that your face hit) was me..."

I haven't seen most of my family in quite some time. I think they prefer it this way.

They have never been ones to mince words or care what others think of them. They embrace their hatred. They see it as a way to view themselves above people like me. The last time I saw them it was like I wasn't even there. Just met with looks of disgust and occasional loud comments of "I identify as ___". I wasn't a person to them, just an object of their ire.

They are jerks. And yet, a part of me wishes I could somehow change their opinions a little bit. Cool their burning hatred to a more tepid strong dislike.

Your family is what you make it. Not the relatives you are born with, but instead the connections you make and lives you touch. I would be lying if I said this didn't hurt though. I wish things could be different.
