i have a very serious mental medical condition that is hard to treat because people with this condition won't take their medication

and i think a lot of it has to do with shame, ie people telling people to go off their meds because the Ideal Person isn't medicated.

but being an Ideal Person is often a concept associated with an ephemeral being no one who wants to be or has ever even met. and to be demanded to become an Ideal Person is like telling someone to become a mythical being. it's a cruelty.

but there's another painful part: the admittance that being insane or mentally deceitful or unwell helps people fulfill the role of being an Ideal Person, even if only for appearances.

in short, it's easier for a depressed person to give a big gleaming smile and pretend everything is perfect because they lack the faculties to feel how painful it is to be real.
