For those who have played The Stick of Truth and/or The Fractured But Whole - which one did you like better and why?

I am struggling to get into playing TFBW because TSOT was SUCH a phenomenal and exceptional game, and I feel that TFBW is not living up to the expectations I had after playing TSOT.

Kyle has both a savior complex and a need to feel better than everyone else

Those are big resons he stays around Cartman soooo much despite "hating" him, Kyle wants to be the ONLY one responsible to making Eric a descent human being not belivin anyone -should- could do It (see post covid) but also likes to keep the worst person he knows always around so he is a saint in comparisson

This is a great point!! Liane absolutely does start attempting to set things straight with Eric in the newer seasons, not tolerating or condoning his behavior as much at all. I think Kyle can help Cartman be a better version of himself which ultimately does help Liane as well. Kyle knows how to put this boy in check!! And I definitely can see Liane being a happier and more supportive person because of this.

This is such a fun question!!!!! Oh my gosh okay, I want to start off with saying that I love both Liane and Sheila’s characters so very much. They both have very interesting story lines, backstories and character traits, as well as have very unique relationships with their sons that not many people talk about- I am not here get into whether I think they are the best of mothers or not, it’s obvious that both of them care very much for their precious boys, even if they show it in interesting ways.

I think Sheila would be the more accepting and supportive mother of kyman out of the two. I see Sheila being more supportive of her son being gay and being in a homosexual relationship, specifically with Eric. Sheila is a tough mom, she is loud and persistent, she is open minded and aware, she has very clear rules, boundaries and structure in her house. I see all of these factors of her personality being so because she loves her family and her sons so much, it is her way of ensuring her babies are taken care of and are being brought up right. Ultimately, whatever Kyle decided to do in his life, I know Sheila would be there in the crowd cheering him on- she is always so very proud of her bubbeleh! I personally HC that Eric and Kyle’s relationship gets found out by Sheila first (as she is a very persistent mother wanting to know what her son is up to and how he is doing). I see Sheila being a little surprised and confused, wanting to talk with the boys to understand the situation and I see her ultimately sitting them down and giving them a pep talk about healthy relationship habits and advice as well as responsibility and respect, talking them through a few concerns she may have. While she may not be the most patient mother, she loves her son so much, she just wants to see him happy but also make sure he makes smart choices. So she becomes kyman’s biggest advocate, supporting them rough patches and questioning situations. Even though Eric was a little shit to Sheila growing up, he has been around Kyle and his household for long enough to get a few good parental moments from Sheila. Kyle definitely keeps him in check as well.

Liane is an interesting case, and I say that because she has had many moments in the show expressing her homophobia and religious stance on homosexuality, yet she also has had quite a few canon moments expressing being some part of the lgbt community herself. Liane and Cartman have a much different relationship than Sheila and Kyle, Liane may appear more loving, soft and motherly, but she doesn’t exactly play a heathly role as a mother. I HC that she does not take Cartman’s homosexuality seriously, nor does she take kyman’s relationship seriously. Even though Liane is very devoted to her little poopsiekins and will stop the world for him in certain situations, I feel by the time and age Kyle and Eric get into a relationship, Liane just can not care too much to support it, she and Eric have drifted apart as mother and son and their relationship is pretty rocky. I feel she will acknowledge kyman and go on about how adorable they are, how they are “such cute and loving friends”, but it doesn’t get much deeper than that. I believe Liane would be too ridiculed with religious trauma, sexual trauma and relationship trauma to appropriately understand kyman’s relationship. I feel she will have her own prejudice based on her upbringing and normalcy in her own eyes, but she won’t voice it or take action against kyman’s relationship. She lets Eric live his life as she lives hers.

So basically, I've been wanting to talk about this for a while because I've seen a LOT of people pull the "wendy and kyle are same person different font!!1!" thing and while of course you can have your own ideas (it's south park, it's not that serious😭) people forget that wendy and kyle are totally different characters with totally different traits. An argument I see often is that they both hate cartman and I want to start with this one because I'll probably be biased(due to kyman obvi) but while they both "hate" cartman, I feel like it's on totally different levels. When kyle says he hates cartman, he continues to hang out with him and indulge in his bad behavior constantly. Kyle says all the time how much he really hates cartman, yet he never drops him for more than an episode and then they're back at again next week. When wendy says she hates cartman, I totally believe her because she actively avoids him, doesn't feed into his delusions, and doesn't just forgive him and move on. Like in a recent post wendytestabrat made, hate is a strong word and I do feel wendy HATES cartman and all he stands for while kyle just gets pissy at cartman and acts mad and like he hates him so he looks like less of a douche. Something else I see is they are both very smart, can be hot-headed, and are in love with stan. First, I agree they're very smart. It's shown kyle is smart and gets good grades (my best example is the coon bc whatever kenny says is credible to me) and Wendy is very obviously emotionally intelligent and school smart based on her etiquette and roles in the school (class president, cheerleader(you need decent grades to maintain those titles)) but that's a similarity. You can possess a commonality with someone without being a direct copy of them💀. I mean, kenny and butters both have a-holes of dads, but in no way are they the same person. And as for hot-headed, that's just a kyle thing. Wendy is shown to be smarter with her attacks and much less impulsive. We see her get very angry, but not just because and all of the time. Being hot-headed is kyle all the way. I don't even need to list evidence. Just watch s8-current.(heavy on everything after s20). Lastly, they are not both in love with stan guys😭 I'm not going to justify it because I just feel like i shouldn't have to. Watch s15 and tell me kyle is in love with stan.

TL;DR wendy and kyle are NOT the same, they just have similar characteristics. At the end of the day though, it's south park so it doesn't really matter what i or anyone else says so think what you think and do what you want.

I'll give ya my favorite hcs I came up with without getting too detailed because I have a TON of hcs that I can get way too carried away with.. 🤭💖 The timeline for these range from high school to college ish.

Once it's established that they are in a relationship, Cartman and Kyle do not do PDA and are almost hyper-concious not to be affectionate in public. They pretty much pretend that they aren't anything more than the typical obsessed, dramatic frenemies- even though some people like Stan and Kenny MAY know otherwise. They like to keep their relationship private or perhaps a "secret" because it's fucking gay and of course they aren't going to shout that out loud and proud. However, the longing stares and brush of hands under the table at lunch don't go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Kyle and Cartman are extremely vulnerable to one another when in private. When no one is around, no parents, no neighbors, no classmates or friends- when they are completely alone in one another's room, or at Stark's pond- they open up and drop their walls, drop their masks and defensive attitudes. This point in their relationship takes A LONG TIME to get to, slowly becoming more comfortable and used to each other's presence in a romantic way. But once they know they love and trust each other enough, they embrace their vulnerability and bask in it. They can be so goddamn sappy and gross- especially Cartman- okay mainly Cartman.

Dating Cartman has cracked Kyle down, has really opened his eyes and has whipped his attitude into shape. He learns about Cartman's childhood/ familial trauma and becomes increasingly more aware, concerned, caring and protective over Cartman. He becomes much more patient with Cartman. Cartman thinks this is patronizing.

The things they teased each other about as children turn out to be their favorite parts about each other- Cartman is in love with Kyle's gorgeous "jew-fro", and Kyle adores Cartman's chubby figure "fatass". They absolutely still pick on each other regardless.

I like to think of them as a mix between pine and mountain kyman. One year Cartman has a growth spurt but his football-player dad's genes make him pile on the pounds as well; The next year Kyle's height skyrockets and he gets a bit too lanky.

What pushes them into admitting feelings and pursuing a relationship is a life-threatening event which the other witnesses. I like it going both ways, either Cartman on the brink of death and seeing Kyle come and save him, or Kyle facing death and seeing Cartman come and save him. They need to SEE the raw and powerful feelings drawn on the other's face, doing anything and everything in their power to save the other. There's sobbing and desperation and screaming, there's urgency and panic. They can't live without each other. After this event, they are both paranoid about each other's safety for quite a while and try very hard not to make it obvious.
