i think a lot of white queer/trans people need to hear that "breaking gender norms" isnt just wearing a dress while masc or dying your hair. its also unlearning the beauty standards that impose ideals of white beauty and attractiveness on non-white folks. yes you have a nose ring but i just heard you tell your black friend with meticulously cared for natural hair "you'd just look so nice with straight hair is all im saying..." why does your blog fetishizing i mean uh. appreciating trans women only feature skinny white women who pass. when societal gender norms are so inextricably tied to whiteness and emulating whiteness it is not enough to simply change your aesthetic. you need to defy the gender norms in your own head too.

i think a lot of people in their 20s or younger who think it’s too late to transition or start hrt would benefit enormously from taking a long hard look at their internalized transphobia.
yes, you may have gone through puberty already and need to do more work to achieve your goals than someone who got on puberty blockers and started much earlier. and being afraid of never achieving your goals is a valid and incredibly normal fear.
but transition is so much more than just taking hrt and looking the way you want to. it’s about learning who you are and how you want to express yourself. it’s about unlearning shame and finding joy in the forbidden. it’s about the journey. a slow, painstaking, lifelong journey, filled with unexpected turns every step of the way. and it is infinitely more satisfying than living in fear of what may never come.
it is never too late to transition because it is never too late to start loving yourself.

If you’re able to ask the question “what if I have body dysmorphia?” in response to my claim that no one needs to or should call themselves fat in pejorative way when they are not in fact fat, then you’re already acknowledging that you don’t belong to the class of people who are fat and who experience all the attendant abuses and discrimination. You know, at least in this moment, that what you have is a mental disorder, not a fat body. So I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest that you practice saying “my body dysmorphia is really bad right now” instead of “I’m so fat.” You’ve already proven you can do it—the question is whether you care enough about other people to stop saying that their bodies are your living nightmare

very upsetting that as a society thighs and tummies have been demonized. like they are literally just body parts and if they’re a little rounder it’s no big deal. beauty standards = pure embodiment of evil in this world

just a reminder to COMPLETELY boycott Eurovision this year; Azerbaijan and Israel, despite committing genocide, are STILL allowed to compete & have NOT been banned. by refusing to ban both countries, Eurovision is profiting off of the genocide of Palestinians and Armenians.
do not listen to the artists. do not pirate or stream the artists' music, and this applies to ALL the artists who are competing and performing this year. do not listen to the songs on ANY platform, do not give them ANY attention.
write to your broadcasters and tell them you REFUSE to watch the channels until they recognise the Armenian and Palestinian genocides & that you find it disgusting how they are allowing Eurovision despite Azerbaijan and Israel's entries.
do NOT give eurovision OR the competing artists ANYTHING but silence.
boycott ALL of eurovision.

so many queer ppl will be like "deviating from social norms is part of who we are" and then gleefully participate in fatphobia/diet culture and nearly make being skinny an entire ideology and identity

i go through all the dove pink ballet Audrey Hepburn-worshipping blogs and gleefully scroll past the thin white women 95 times out of 100. i hope more of you learn that there’s more to life, more to beauty than Lily rose depp or Ariana grande. i hope you broaden your aesthetic horizons and show up for bodies that look different.
