I am feeling kind of nostalgic today....

It is the most sinful places and people we priests should feel called to. Our Lord Christ dined with sinners and prostitutes, not with the pious preachers.
So you are one of the Calahans... I have only heard about them this far, is it true your family considers themselves as gods?
I have only last year had the chance to be introduced to my family, so yes, a visit now and then is mandatory to make up for lost time. Marshall Calahan. A priest? This surely is an… interesting place for a priest, surrounded by so much sin.

Family is indeed important, it's a good cause for returning. As is unfinished buisiness..
I do believe I have not introduced myself yet.. Father Matthew Greyson, I'm the priest at St. Sebastian.
In my case, that something is family, and unfinished business. But yes, thank you. I heard about these other people returning.

It seems quite a lot of people are returning to this town, something about Kingsfall seems to pull people back in... Welcome back.
This town hasn’t changed a bit. It’s so… good to be back.

Matthew raised an eyebrow, but stayed silent as he followed Beckett to the car. Sliding in, he sighed, still a little uncomfortable in his street clothes which he tugged on a little as they started driving. "Wait, no way, I'm not going to drink alcohol or eat greasy wings, Beckett! Playing games is fine, but I'm not going to put my body through all those calories." Of course, now was too late to stop Beckett, they were already going, and Matthew wouldn't make Becks turn around and drive them back, so he just sucked it up and sighed again. "You know, you'll be the death of me sometime..." he mumbled, biting his lip. "Noone will ever know about this, got it?"
A day out... or a night? || Macks
Beckett headed down the stairs, taking them two or three at a time in his excitement. At the bottom, he grinned up at Matthew, swooning like he was a princess. It helped him ignore whatever was under the water - figuratively speaking of course. “Really? Because sometimes you can get a little ‘rigid’.” he said with a laugh. he was quick to start the car and get to driving. Because once they were on the road, Matthew couldn’t say no. “So I’m thinkin’ - beer, wings, then skeeball. Ever played Skeeball? Well, if you haven’t, not a big deal, it’s easy. Then there’s air hockey and a ton of other games there. But we dn’t have to play any games if you don’t want - can’t force a guy to have too much fun.” he made himself pause, biting his lip as he whipped them out and away from the church. ”I’m seriously so stoked! And there’s a buncha games on tonight.”

Matthew raised an eyebrow at Beckett's soft tone, a little confused by what he thought he saw in Beck's eyes for a moment, some kind of soft sentiment that reached further than kindness... it was a bit scary and a little unsettling, especially since Matthew couldn't find it in him to outright reject Becks. Just barely stopping himself from biting his lip when Beckett popped his top button, Matthew grinned a little. "Hey, it's not that old... nine years, to be precise. It's not like I stopped being a human after I decided to go to seminary..." Following Beckett to the door, hesitating a little, Matthew sighed. "Alright, let's go before I can change my mind...."
A day out... or a night? || Macks
Beckett finished getting dressed, before hanging around to wait on Matthew. He crossed his arms in a relaxed fashion when Matthew appeared, eyebrow arching. “Not the word I’d use to describe ya…” he said softly. Matthew looked… so normal. It was easy to just imagine him as a store owner, a teacher… not a priest. He looked… handsome. The younger man smiled, reassuring as he reached forward, and popped open the top-button. “A better word would be ‘private-sector-chic’… so the shirt’s from 2001 - ya look good…” he went to go grab up his wallet, and keys to the car, before jingling them. “Let’s go!”

Yes, it's definitely nice enough for that, even to sit outside with a blanket and enjoy the afternoon sun some of the days. And there are a lot of people here who would miss you, too, Andrew, me being one of them, by the way.
France is Beautiful
That’s great, means I might actually be able to go out on the little balcony of my apartment. But yeah, it’s lovely. If I didn’t know I’d miss several people by staying here, I’d be convinced I’m staying.

It is getting a little warmer now, I am not nearly freezing certain bodyparts off on my morning runs these days. It's probably nothing compared to France in spring though.

In reality he’d probably fly to France and drag my ass home. It certainly is, especially out in the countryside. Is it still rather cold in Canada? That’s certainly not helping my will to come back in the least.

Kidding aside though, I can understand your reluctance to come back to cold Canada, I heard that France is a wonderful and magical place.

Matthew groaned, shaking his head as he couldn't keep a small smile from his lips. "Beckett, you will not call me 'Matty', no matter what!" he scolded, before he disappeared to get changed. It took a litle bit of an internal pep-talk for him to pull off the collar and put on his street-clothes, and it certainly was a strange sight when he looked into the mirror and it wasn't Father Matthew staring back, but Matthew, just as he had been before seminary, only a little older now. It scared Matthew a little, especially with how much he began to care about Beckett, in a not strictly friendly or clergical way...
Stepping out of the room, Matthew looked at Beckett, a little unsure. "You sure you want to head out with me looking like this?... I look ridiculous..." he uttered, tugging a little at the shirt. He had lost a little weight since he had last worn it, a fact that worried him a little but that he wouldn't voice right now.
A day out... or a night? || Macks
Beckett looked over at the priest, letting him stumble through his rational. His eyes then hooded skeptically. “Sure you can. I’ve seen priests ditch the collar before. You’re just being traditional. Time to let go of the safety net a bit…” He looked back at his reflection. He smoothed some hairs in place, before smiling. He brushed past Matthew. “We’re going to Dave & Busters or whatever it’s called. There’s one in Vancouver. Twenty minute drive, tops. We’re gonna get wings, watch a game, and then I am gonna kick your ass at skeeball. There, happy?” he went to go get his boots, pouting as if he didn’t like ruining the surprise. “And I’m gonna call you ;Matthew’, Not Padre. But if you waste anymore time I’m chopping your name up into ‘Matty’.”

Matthew stared at the clothes for a moment, before rushing to follow Beckett into the bath, staying at the door as he leaned against the wall. "I can't wear these out, Becks, they are for wearing around the house. It's one of the rules, no taking off the collar when outside, exception being when I work out. I can't just... walk out there in these, especially not if you don't tell me where we're headed!" His tone tried to be lecturing, but somehow, he sounded more concerned, his blossoming friendship with the younger man making it impossible to be too harsh on him.
A day out... or a night? || Macks
Beckett had been formulating a plan to get Matthew out of his rut. Not Padre, but Matthew. Sure, Beckett realized the man’s job was more than just that - a lifestyle - but after the few things that had transpired, he was seeing the man for just that - a man. With his plan formulating, he had done a bit of digging while he had the chance. Going into Matthew’s room, he found a pair of jeans and a decent t-shirt. Normal clothes, he couldn’t believe his luck.
Coming down the hall, he heard Matthew walking in. Of course he threw the clothes, smiling a small smile. He crossed his arms. “What’s it look like? Normal clothes. Found ‘em in the back of your closet. Put ‘em on, we’re gonna go have some fun tonight. And no, you can’t wear the collar.” Grinning, he then headed into the bathroom, checking his hair, brushing it back into the pomp he tried to keep it in.

[leans closer to Beck's ear, whispering, carefull to disguise his voice to sound even deeper and more gravvely] First, you tell me who your friends are, Robin.. can't have Batman's little friend hang out with the wrong crowd, can we? [snatches the bottle again]
[Arches a brow, grinning before taking the bottle back] easy, Mr. Mystery. Not gonna drink it all. Some friends of mine want it - sharing’s caring, right? [he presses close for a moment, straightening the collar of the man’s coat] You could join us, if you want. It’s a party after all

Matthew shrugged, pulling his mask up once again just enough to down another shot and pulling it down again right away. "Well, tonight is for celebration, hunting season doesn't start until the sun's up... guess you're lucky, Bullseye.."
[Superheroes and Villains]
“Well,” Eddie smirked. “You could start with me, but you’d have to catch me and I’m a very good shot. Hence the name Bullseye. Nice to see you down with us common sinners, Rorschy my friend.”

Matthew looked towards the man who had joined him at the bar, discovering that he hadn't met him yet. Good, although it was probably better to be careful. So with changing his voice to be a little more gravvely, Matthew nodded and answered "Indeed, the difficulty is deciding where to start..."
[Superheroes and Villains]
Eddie slinked up to the bar, ordering a shot and smiling at Rorschach. “Nice night for a party, huh Rorschach? See any villains worth smiting?”

[Superheroes and Villains]
Matthew was seeking refuge under the Rorschach-mask, hiding all his features so noone would be able to discover that the priest was in their midst. While Matthew was sure noone would really mind, as long as he didn't try to keep them from having fun, it was his own discomfort that made him hide his identity. Just one night of being normal, of not being weighed down by his responsibilities...
Slowly, he made his way though the crown towards the bar, ordering a shot and only pulling his mask off just enough to down it before pulling it down again.
