London Marriott Hotel County Hall. 5* Luxury Hotel by Big Ben.

We chose London Marriott Hotel County Hall – 5* Luxury Hotel – for our 7th Wedding Anniversary and our expectations were exceeded. It was a luxury experience in the heart of Westminster with wonderful views of Big Ben and the River Thames.

Whenever I visit historical places and buildings I am always interested in knowing the story behind them. County Hall was opened in 1922 by King George V and Queen Mary as the local government headquarters. It’s a Grade II listed building that has witnessed many important moments in London history. London Marriott Hotel County Hall was officially opened by Mr. J.W.Marriot Jr on 23rd September 1998.

I am sure you are curious to know how it looks inside. Well, I can truly say it’s charming. It’s been entirely renovated in 2016 and features a subtle British style and a touch of history and luxury. All rooms have a comfortable bed with soft Egyptian cotton linen that ensures a comfortable night’s sleep. Rooms are equipped with the latest technology, luxury, and high-end amenities. Most of the rooms have wonderful views of the river Thames.

We had the pleasure to stay in one of the best rooms in the hotel – The Westminister Suite. It has a splendid living room with the workplace, sofas for relaxation, and a beautiful large dining table that can seat up to 10 guests to enjoy a meal with family, friends, or work colleagues. The large windows offer breathtaking views over the River Thames, Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament. The bathroom needs extra attention as it has everything one could ever want from the bathroom. Luxurious marble, beautiful bathtub, spacious shower room, opulence sinks and a washlet. Let’s not forget the kitchen, second bathroom, and walk-in wardrobe. A truly amazing experience.

We also tried Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar and the food was mouthwatering. The restaurant offers over 100 gins and locally sourced steaks. We tried fillet steak with truffle chips and it was succulent.

And last but not least we had a chance to try iconic Afternoon Tea in the Library. The atmosphere there is just mesmerizing. The books around, the views through the windows, selection of award-winning teas, and flavourful bites. Fascinating experience!

Luxury Hotel with Private Jacuzzi in Santorini

Santorini was on my bucket list for awhile. As soon as I spotted reasonable flight prices, I bought the tickets without hesitation. Well of course due to pandemics the flight was canceled twice, but I am so glad I postponed the dates, and thankfully I was able to visit Santorini with my husband.

We stayed at Maria Paradeiso Resorts and I can truly say it was absolutely magical. Private jacuzzi tucked away from tourist’s eyes with mesmerizing views of Caldera. We had ocean view studio and it didn’t disappoint us. The studio itself was like a little cave and had super comfy beds. It also had a huge roof terrace where you could lie down on the sun loungers and enjoy breathtaking views. There was also a private seating area right beside the jacuzzi. It was so handy as it was in the shadow so we could relax after walks around Imerovigli.

As always it is really important for me not only for the room itself but the staff too. As it’s a pretty small boutique hotel, there is no reception, but the managing lady met us on arrival and gave us contact details to contact her anytime we needed something. She took care of our in-room breakfast and answered all the questions we had.

I can gladly say I would give 5* from 5 to this beautiful boutique resort in Santorini.

Small Kitchen Renovation

Kitchen renovation was not on our to do list when we bought a house. However, the style of the kitchen was not my cup of tea so we ripped out everything and made a brand new kitchen from scratch. I chose all of the details myself starting from cabinet handles to cabinets, worktops and appliances. You probably know already how much I love whites, golds and greens and if you don’t know that yet, you can clearly see in the pictures. I chose golden brass details such as cabinet handles, tap, sockets and even cutlery. I did, of course, incorporate some green plants and pampass grass. I combined a classic interior with edgy style by choosing hanging industrial lights from Value Lights. Love those lights, they have such a big impact on the whole interior. And even though our kitchen is small, I made the most of the space. Here are some tips on how you can make the most of the small space too: – add some greenery – use light colours – use lots of whites – get rid of all clutter – opt for small appliances – use hanging lights – hide your fridge with cabinet doors – use as little as possible hanging cabinets I did all of that and as a result, got a small but cosy kitchen which I truly love. Even though it’s in the heart of Paris, it’s still peaceful and quiet, tucked away in a little garden. Rayz Private Suites are suitable for business trips, family staycations, friends vacations, and even a romantic getaway. The hotel offers 8 types of rooms and suites: Classic room with access to the terrace, comfort studio, deluxe apartments with a terrace view, deluxe apartments with walk-in bathroom, suit Rayz bar (the one we stayed in), family bedroom, family apartment, and duplex for up to 6 people. We stayed in an amazing Suit Rayz Bar Deluxe Suit and we had the best experience. The room was modern with a feeling of the best Parisian bars and overlooking the beautiful gardens. It had not only a comfortable king-size bed but a modern open lounge area. We were able to enjoy a drink and relax on a comfy sofa while admiring Gilles Bensimon artwork. Loft Conversion to Home Office Space

During these strange times more than ever we realised that the home office is a truly important addition to our house. Even though I’ve been working from home for over three years I didn’t have a designated working space. We discovered an opportunity to have a home office for both myself and my husband as soon as we spotted loft space in our new house during our first viewing. Obviously the loft looked nothing like office space, it was a dingy dark space with no windows. It looked like a huge project to convert this unusable space into home office and my walk-in wardrobe (you can read more about my wardrobe here) however we decided to go ahead. And we couldn’t be happier with the results! The first thing that needed to be done was the installation of VELUX Windows. Thanks to VELUX the dark storage space instantly became light and bright. We kept the colour scheme in whites and greens (by greens I mean green plants) and with golden props. I constantly add bits and pieces on the shelves, so you can follow our office journey on homebyvaida Instagram too. We had some thoughts to leave the brick wall in its natural colour but in the end, we decided to paint it white too. My husband’s idea was to incorporate some industrial details so we chose industrial shelf brackets and we love them! They instantly give an extra edge. We had a pretty wide space between walls but as we decided to share the office space we went for a full-width desk. It gives enough space for both of us to work. Although my hubby has millions of meetings so I sneak out to my opposite office aka walking wardrobe lol :) The final touch (for now) was chill-out space. We got a foldable sofa bed, just in case someone gets stuck in the office and needs to have a sleepover there lol. Jokes aside it is a lovely chill-out area for a morning coffee before work. And obviously, if we have guests they can easily have a sleepover. Loft Conversion into Walk in Wardrobe. Fitted Loft Wardrobe.

I’ve always had a dream to have a walk in wardrobe. And finally, I do! After house purchase with a loft space, there was no doubt that we’d make the loft conversion into Walk-in Wardrobe. I was so excited and planned every aspect of how my wardrobe will look. However, the loft space had sloped ceilings and it meant that to make a perfect dream walk-in wardrobe won’t be an easy job.

Following up on London’s Fashion Week and streetstyle trends we can clearly say that green colour has flourished as one of the biggest colour trends in 2020. A trend that brings a touch of nature in various shades from pastel mint to bottle green both in fashion and interior has truly won my heart.

How to Convert the Loft to a Dreamy Space with Velux Windows

As soon as we stepped into the loft, we instantly knew that the only way to convert this dark storage space into the dreamy loft is using VELUX windows. It is the easiest and simplest way to convert the loft space and it gives the best results. And therefore we decided to renovate our new house starting from the loft and create two bright and airy rooms with the help of VELUX.

We had many ideas for the loft but in the end, we decided to convert one space to a workspace for my husband and me, and the other one to my walk-in wardrobe (hooray my long time dream will finally come true). It couldn’t happen without VELUX! So let me tell you a little bit about the history of VELUX. Back in 1941, inventor Villum Kann Rasmussen came up with an idea that would transform dingy attics into spaces full of sunlight. His first roof window was patented in 1942. He came up with a name with a meaning behind: ‘VE’, short for ventilation and ‘LUX’, latin for light and so were born VELUX.

VELUX windows not only unlock potential from nonusable or hardly usable attic spaces but lightens them up and allows for fresh air to flow into spaces. As for our project instead of going for a standard size suggested by our builders, we wanted to go big, to fill the space with plenty of light. Having in mind that we were allowed to place windows just on one side, we chose windows that would cover most of the wall (VELUX Top Hung 94×140 (PK08)). As soon as windows arrived our builders were quite surprised by the size of them and had to increase the quote for the fitting (please bear in mind if you do a renovation that quote may depend on the size of windows). However, in the end, everyone was happy with the look of the loft. Dark dingy loft space was flooding with sunlight and it no longer looked unusable space but it was lovely livable and workable space with my walk-in wardrobe included but more about it a bit later. Kids Bedroom Ideas. Before and After Makeover.

How to create a fun and cute space for your little one? Just add few touch-ups, get some playful furniture and your kids’ bedroom ideas will become reality. Yes, it is that simple. Of course, depending on your time and budget there are various ways to decorate kids bedroom.

Today I will share 10 ideas on how to decorate a cool kid’s room. I chose a unisex colour scheme so it would suit both girls and boys. 1. Look for a different bed option rather than standard. One of the most important things in kids bedroom is the bed. So why choose a blank and boring one? If you choose yours carefully, think about your child’s one too. They love different shapes and styles. If your budget is big enough to change beds often you can look for theme/novelty beds, just have in mind that their interest changes quite a lot every year. So if you decide to buy a paw patrol bed when he/she is two, they might not even like it when he/she turns three. I would go for a safer option and would look into shape rather than theme. We decided to go for a house frame bed, it is long-lasting and you can decorate it however you want. 2. Hang posters. Posters are a great way to make the room lively, fun and cool. You can choose from a huge variety of black/white prints to colourful and from tiny sizes to huge ones. Our posters are from POSTER STORE. (gifted)

3. If your little one is into books, get a nice bookcase or shelving. We got ours from Vertbaudet. 4. Choose a fun rug. Instead of standard rug look for something fun/creative/cute. It makes such a difference! Our little one loves his zebra rug from AMARA. (gifted) 5. Instead of the bulky wardrobe, choose either kids small wardrobe or a chest of drawers. It will save space and will look neat! We chose the Hemni chest of drawers from Ikea. It has a lot of space and fits all of the clothes and some other bits.

6. Get a little desk for your little one to do crafts and arts, writing, painting, and learning. You can choose some fun animal chairs. I am looking for one at the moment. 7. Think about storage for toys. We keep toys in storage bags and cover them in a teepee tent while the little one is not playing. You can check some storage basket ideas here. 8. Add some artificial plants and teach your kids to take care of them, then you can upgrade to real ones. 9. If you have enough space get a Teepee tent. (gifted). Choose easily foldable that you could pack it away in the corner if not needed. Teepee tent is like a new space for kids and they love it. Also, it is a great way to decorate the room. 10. Choose fun/theme bedding. Such a small thing like bedding can transform the look of the room too. Choose the bedding depending on your child’s interest and the idea you want to create the room. I love neutral colours for the interior, so I chose black and white panda bedding.

There is no right or wrong way to decorate your kids room. Think about your ideas and what your little one likes and combine those two factors. You can create amazing space with a limited budget too. Facebook market place is a great way to get some bits and pieces much cheaper.

My Home Tour. 10 Things That Make Your Home Cosy.

Since I moved to London 9 years ago I’ve been renting various apartments and the only one I can truly call home is the one where I live now. I moved in couple of months before my little one was born and we as a family started our journey here. We created a cosy space that we loved. And even though it’s constantly a mess now (if you have kids you will know why) I still love it. I’ve been asked many times for a home tour on my Instagram so I thought just before we move out to our own place (hooray) I will show you around this house and share 10 things that make your home cosy. Let’s start with the bedroom. Originally this room was sitting area, but we decided that we prefer a larger bedroom than a sitting room. We had to fit our baby’s bed when we’ve moved in and this room looked more spacious for this reason. (The baby bed is now removed obviously). I also wanted some space for a dressing table. Within these three years, the room has slightly changed, but mostly it looks the same as we’ve moved in. Our sitting room is rather my husband’s workplace than the actual sitting room, especially now that he is working from home all the time. Unfortunately, the sofas were here already and we couldn’t remove them so I couldn’t style this room the way I wanted. We just added my husband’s workspace and a chest of drawers. Our son’s nursery has changed a lot starting from the bed to hundreds of toys in every corner. Love his new house bed and the bedding though. I also want to decorate his wall around the bed but as soon as we received this bed we found out that our rental contract is finished. I will wait till we move to a new place and will decorate the wall with some cute stickers. Kitchen? Well, I love this kitchen a lot as this is the only big kitchen in all my renting years. All other places had pretty small kitchens without a dining table. Whether you are renting or have your own home, it is important to make it yours and make it cosy. Based on the latest collections and catwalks, it seems that fashion in 2020 is more practical, going back to classy pieces and “wearability” rather than very artistic and impractical. Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring Summer 2020 Collection was inspired by Bauhaus style. And here we can see a return of classics in shapes, silhouettes, and colours as well. Buying Our First Home. Step by Step Guide by Lifestyle Blogger.

The excitement level is currently at 100% as we are on a lookout for our first home! We’ve been renting for nearly 10 years now and it’s about the time to step on the first-time buyer ladder. So what are the main steps? Finance. Well, obviously when you decide to give up on renting and move on to buying, you need to have a deposit. Depending on your location, property value and deposit percentage it may vary anything between several thousand to several hundred thousand or even millions. Usually, for the first time buyer deposit of 5% is enough, but the more you have the better. So before you decide to buy a property, make sure you have a deposit or at least work on it if you set a goal to buy a house.

Search. This looks very exciting but just the first few days/weeks, after the main excitement finishes it gets exhausting. Going through the same ads every day and deciding whether it ticks your boxes or not, with every viewing you take off more “must-have” boxes leaving just the most important. Don’t get me wrong it is an exciting part but it becomes tiring with time. So the main thing here is to decide what is really important to you and your family and on what you could compromise, just make sure you are realistic. I would love to have a huge garden, good size double rooms, a sitting room with a fireplace and all of that for under 350k, but hey it’s London and I know it’s pretty much impossible. Make sure your requirements are realistic as otherwise you might be very disappointed. You might need to give up on something but gain something else in return too. Also think carefully about location, what are your priorities? If you have a certain location in mind, can you move a bit further out? Make sure to check that there are good transport links. Also are there some nurseries and schools around if you have children or planning to have in the near future.

A mortgage in Principle. So after you’ve made the decision to buy a house and you found some properties you like, it’s time to get a mortgage in principle. It is proof from the bank that you can get a mortgage. I would highly recommend hiring a broker to get a mortgage in principle.

Viewings and offers. So after you’ve seen several properties and decided on what you’d love to purchase, it’s time to give an offer on properties you like. Don’t worry the offer does not entitle you to buy the house as of yet. You are still able to search for other properties as long as you haven’t started the paperwork (even then it is possible to change to another property, you might just lose some money). If your offer is accepted you have to finalise your decision and start paperwork if it’s a yes from you. However, if your offer was declined you can still give a counteroffer and you might still get a decent price. Survey. After you start paperwork bank will do a basic survey however it is very basic so I would highly recommend booking another independent homebuyer survey. As at the end of the day it will be your home and you need to know if there is something wrong with your house. If there is something wrong you can negotiate to lower the price of the property or if there are serious issues with the property, it might even change your mind. Legal Work. Obviously there is a lot of legal work involved here so make sure you find the right solicitors as most of the work will be done by them and you will have to sit tight and wait. How long might it take? Well, the whole process from the offer to exchange can take anything between 8 weeks to a year or even more. But the most common time frame is around 12 weeks. Exchanging contracts. At this point, the mortgage is approved, both parties sign the contract and you become legal owner of the property. Moving In. Time to pack and move in your new home! It was all worth it! So where do we stand ourselves now? We went through quite a few phases already. We planned our finances, did a search, got a mortgage in principle, did viewings and made few offers, one was accepted so we are going through legal work now and hopefully by the end of April we will be moving to our new home. London Fashion Week 2020 Streetstyle

I cannot believe that it’s London Fashion Week 2020! Time just flies. As every year (actually twice a year) I had to think through what I’m going to wear and this season as my LFW streetstyle outfit I chose pistachio faux leather suit, accessorised it with beautiful Kim Eugenia hat and a statement belt. I also wore those beautiful Zara pearl slides, which totally killed my feet. Sorry to say that, but they were so damn uncomfortable even though the heel is tiny but my feet is still hurting. Despite that, I enjoyed the amazing Paul Costelloe show. His collections are just something! So beautiful! I decided to go easy this season and attended just one show and one event. And it was ok for me, I prefer to go wild during LFW in September and go easy in February. What do you think about my look?
