He's so done!
Dropping a very special Sketch-a-wish, voted on by my lovely Patreon members for August!
The winning request was to illustrate an off-page scene from The Folk of the Air series, when Cardan was writing his letters to Jude.
I countered that Cardan went through the five stages of grief writing those letters, and each deserved it's own illustration. (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance) You'll also notice some familiar outfits throughout!
Have a great weekend. :)

Read Fire and Blood a while ago. George truly created a masterpiece with this one. Too bad that the show felt the need to deviate from the source material instead of expanding upon things that were already presented perfectly in the book

HOT!
Here’s the second artwork contributed to the @illumicrate edition of The Stolen Heir by @blackholly!
We got to do some fancy endpages, and the team went FULL THROTTLE selecting this scene at the Ice Needle Citadel.
Fun bit: There are five bodies in this illustration. Can you spot them all?
Also, side note - did any other fellow audiobook listeners feel absolutely spoiled Saskia Maarleveld narrated? I freakin’ love Caitlin Kelly’s narration for the FOTA, but if they wanted a different voice behind Wren, SM is 🤌🤌🤌

Them just being a pair of idiots and that's why they're my favorite couple
Rereading parts of Queen of Nothing and when Cardan confesses his love and said "you probably guessed that already" really makes me want to read Cardans perspective even more.
Because the more you reread the more you see how much he clearly loves her and started taking his guards down around her.
Like when she came to him when she was released from the Undersea and he just pulled her to bed and held her.
The literal budding and blooming flowers when he said his vows and she said hers.
Fighting tooth and nail when Madoc came for her. Coming to get her and making her promise to be safe when he came for her at the war camp.
Like I could go on. And the entire time Jude was thinking what? He hates her and he is thinking he's wearing his heart on his sleeve and letting his feelings known

The Stolen Heir Takeaways
- I love Oak as our leading man than I initially expected. At first I thought he was going to be another Cardan but Holly made some distinction between the two. Too bad she deleted his scene with Madoc, his POV was so good!
- I don't like Suren that much, I think she is not as interesting as Jude and I would prefer not to have the story told entirely through her POV
- Again, splitting the POV might be a better choice here
- Although I like the supporting cast, the Court of Shadow is still superior
- I don't really like the ending but it did surprised me a bit
- Need Jude and Cardan cameo, here's hoping they will finally show up in the sequel
