Optometrist, Dr Alex Du, has been busy looking after students eyes from Kareela Public School. Some of the vision tests includes: how clearly they can see in the distance? Do they have a colour vision problem? Do they have depth perception? Can they focus comfortably when reading? Can they track easily across a book? Seeing clearly is only one aspect of vision. A child can have reading or learning difficulties even if they can see clearly. Convergence insufficiency is a common complaint that is easily overlooked and when corrected, could make a massive difference to a child's comprehension when learning.
