brooke’s stomach was in ugly knots, they only tightened and made her want to cry or throw up when he sauntered into the room as if he hadn’t purposely hurt her. she didn’t look up at him. “you’re not sleeping in here.” she said quietly, her voice wasn’t harsh - if anything, it was uncharacteristically vulnerable and gentle, especially considering her feelings at the moment. “i left you a blanket and pillow there so you can sleep on the couch or find another room.”

stavo didn’t need her to say anything, her expression and body language spoke for herself - he messed up, all of it to prove a point. “fine, i won’t sleep here.” he takes a few more steps into the room nonetheless. “but you should know that we didn’t do anything. i couldn’t.”

Malia can hear his heart plummeting in his chest from anxious nerves, she can see the withdraw away from the conversation and she sure as hell wasn’t an idiot. He was lying, why was he lying? This conversation was just turning out to be a huge disappointment. Malia’s eyebrows crease in mock concern as she finally gets the chance to meet Stavo’s eyes. The hesitation within them is undeniable. “Because, he’s important, he’s your cousin– you should be a little worried, don’t you think?” 

His eyes are fixed on hers for a split second, he finds himself unable to keep the facade up for much longer. “It’s not like I’m not worried, I just think you may be the reason why he’s gone missing in the first place.” A taste of truth finally kisses that moment. Stavo couldn’t accept the undeniable truth - Scott’s friends had been hiding a lot of stuff from him lately. “Why do you worry so much about Scott, though?” Was it jealously? Maybe, but he wouldn’t admit it - never.

“You’re only saying that out of guilt.” Malia responds after a few moments of just listening to his words, she wants to believe the empty promises, but she just can’t anymore. “Look, we’re not fit to be parents, I know this.” She adds, bringing harsh reality to the situation, her face stoic and rather calm for someone that has been crying since she found out about the possibility of being pregnant. She wasn’t mommy material and he sure a HELL wasn’t daddy material. In the end, they just messed up and that’s what Malia was marking it down to. “You know you’re the father, you bastard.” She hisses, filling those unwanted tears well into her eyes.

“We are eighteen, Malia, but we can always try.” Gustavo is mad despite the calm outside, this is far from being comfortable and seeing Malia hurting is just adding to it. His gaze drops when she hisses. “Just wanted to..confirm.” The urge to hug her rises madly as those tears fill her eyes, making him shove his hands into his jeans’ back pockets as a way to hold himself. It was not the best moment, she was broken and unpredictable. “’Could be Stiles’..” The idea consumes him and before he knows he’s spitting these words - unnecessary words.

          He understood her, even though he couldn’t relate to the Lakewood kids, but his work would always be put in front of anything, and once someone touched that Stavo would become dangerous. 

“How many times do I have to say that I’m not the killer? It’s art, this is what I like to do, and my style has nothing to do with my tendencies, I’m not a murder.”

          He was right, to an extent —- her accusations had been based on nothing but frustration, terror, no matter how well founded. Audrey could never seem to help her fear of someone else hiding right under her nose, and with eyes constantly on her ( and the other survivors ) after the last year, almost everyone had seemed a little too suspect. Even Stavo.

          “ You can’t blame me for being a little paranoid when you were drawing us all being brutally killed. I’m —��� sorry, okay? ”

Her words feel like a punch to the chest, her reaction is the most natural one, Stavo simply didn’t see it coming. He takes a bite of his sandwich, even though anxious, no one could notice it from the outside - not a human, at least. Processing the food in his mouth gives him enough time to think of something to feed his lie, what could Scott possibely say if he went home? “He didn’t talk much..” Stavo only swallows the food after these words. “.. only that he didn’t want to see anyone.” His eyes are down, he wasn’t the best liar in town and he knew it. He took a sip of his juice. “He doesn’t understand why everyone worries about him so much.” He is now able to look at Malia, he’s played his best card - if everything went well he would have his answers right now. “And honestly, I don’t either.”

Brown eyes gaze into his for a moment as she listens to him lie. It didn’t take much, the fickle beat of a heart and she knows. The whole pack had been worried about Scott, ever since he stopped showing up at school and now home. No one knew what was going on with him, and as Scott’s faithful beta, it was Malia’s job to make that possible. She needed all the information and who would know better than Stavo, Scott’s cousin? He is living with them, he knows what goes on in the house. Disappointment is hidden well in her features as she tilts her head in a questioning manner, she didn’t want to just call him out and be done with it, she wanted a conversation that benefited her. And maybe he could figure out that he WAS lying.  Which only made him all the more suspicious, Stiles had his suspicious that Stave might be behind all this, no one really knew his back story, or why he ended up in Beacon Hills, Malia wanted to believe with all her heart that it wasn’t, but now just looking at him- it seemed he might be. “Oh really?” Malia’s lips shape into a smile as she looks at the male, as if she believes him. “What did he say? did he have any explanation?”

out of comics. you know what? i feel stupid now. rewatching episodes gives me muse, and i’ve watched them a million times, but i just noticed that stavo steals brooke’s lipstick and after that you have emma opening her locker and having ‘play me’ written with lipstick? i’m sure i was supposed to figure this a long time ago and i also know the writers want to give us all kinds of twisted signs but either someone explains this or stavo simply crawled back to my number one suspect.

“Alright, okay, got it.” Nevertheless, Stavo scoffs. “But that guy over there--” Looking at Rain now, he breaks the joke. “Nothing happened, I just wanted to see if fire would get me some answers around here.”

“No, I will not be setting anyone, or anything on fire for you.” Just because she’s told him the rumors aren’t true, doesn’t completely get rid of the fire jokes. It’s fine coming from him though. “What happened?”
