Announcing their 2021 summer and winter recovery schedule on Wednesday, Ryan Air included ten new 2021 routes from Manchester airport.
The Irish carrier is aiming at recovering their UK air traffic. The new routes from the city include Santorini, Verona, Zagreb, and Bucharest.
Jason McGuinness, the company’s director of the commercial said that the firm will deliver recovery and growth. Connectivity to Manchester will increase the airline’s UK flight traffic and Europe.
He said: "Following the successful vaccination programs, UK air traffic led by Ryan air, is set to recover strongly in summer 2021 and we are pleased to announce our recovery schedule for Manchester, which will deliver 5.1m passengers per year across 67 routes including new summer and winter routes to exciting destinations like Santorini, Paphos, Zagreb, and Verona”.
Visitors can now book their summer getaways. In case of a change to your travel plans, you are free to move your dates with a zero-change fee up to the end of December 2021.
The new summer journeys from Manchester will see three flights to Bucharest in Romania, two weekly flights to Santorini in Greece, Knock in Ireland, and Verona in Italy.
The winter schedule will see two weekly flights to Kaunas, Paphos in Cyprus, Zagreb in Croatia, Suceava in Romania, Poznan in Poland, and one weekly flight to Salzburg in Austria. The company also announced ten new routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Its summer schedule will see four weekly flights to Rome, two to Kosice in Slovakia, Zadar in Croatia, and Kaunas in Lithuania plus a weekly flight to Kos, a notable Greek island.
The new winter journeys from JLA include two weekly flights to Stockholm Arlanda in Sweden, Tallin in Estonia, Milan Bergamo in Italy, Paris Beauvais, and Sibiu in Romania.

UK Suspends Entry For Travelers From Uganda
Following the rapid increase in the number of Covid-19 new cases, the United Kingdom has decided to add Uganda to its red list.
The new measures put up will block entry for all travelers from Uganda except the British/Irish nationals and other people with UK residence rights.
The letter from the British high commission indicates that starting from June 30, 2021, all travelers who passed through Uganda in the last 10 days will not be issued entry permission.
“Following a review of the latest scientific evidence about the risk of community transmission of COVID-19 variants, UK Ministers decided on 24 June 2021 to add Uganda to the red list of border measures, implementation will take effect at 04:00 on Tuesday 29th June,” the letter reads in part.
The commission added that the measures are temporary and kept under review day by day. These travel restrictions will remain in place until the worrying Covid-19 situation comes back to normal.
Apart from the United Kingdom, Rwanda, Abu Dhabi, and the United Arab Emirates are other nations that suspended entry for all visitors from the pearl of Africa.
Uganda is currently battling with the second wave of Covid-19. It is under a 42-day lock-down instituted by the president.

It is reported that some restrictions including quarantine and testing will remain in place although there is a vaccine certification scheme introduced to ensure a safe return from foreign countries.
The hospitality industry said that another lost summer could be devastating.
This is a warning and advised Boris Johnson not to delay the vaccination such that at the end of July all adults are vaccinated.
ABTA, a travel association said in their open letter to the Prime Minister that “The Government should recognize that we cannot wait for the full rollout of the vaccination campaign before people start to travel again.

“The day all of us have long been waiting for is almost here,” said Ken Potrock, president of the Disneyland Resort, in a press statement.
“We’re super excited to have more than 10,000 cast members returning to work as we get ready to welcome our guests back to this impressive place.”
After a long forced break, guests will again experience Star Wars like Galaxy’s Edge, embark on a cruise on Pirates of the Caribbean, and set sail with children and zip along Route 66 on Radiator Springs Racers.
After reopening, Disneyland Resort invites members of the local community to be the first theme park guests after more than a year of closure.
To ensure the SOPs and comply with governmental requirements, Disneyland Resort decided to manage the attendance through a newly introduced park reservation system.
It requires all guests to confirm park entry booking in advance. This reservation will be required before you enter.
The bookings will be limited and subject to availability. For now, only California residents are permitted to visit the parks referring to the current state guidelines.

Harry Theocharis, the country’s tourism minister said in a press conference (ITB Berlin trade show) that they aim at kick-starting their summer season by mid-May. Listed below is his statement.
“Greece is ready with a complete protocol for summer 2021,” he said.
“Tourists will be welcome if before travel they are either vaccinated, or have antibodies, or test negative. All vacationers will be subject to random testing.”

After serious travel restrictions on international arrivals, Croatia is now open again to US travelers.
This unique destination was one of the first countries in Europe to close its borders for international tourism.
This event took place in March 2020 when the Covid-19 infections worsened worldwide.
Since it’s predominantly a summer European tourist spot, the country decided to tentatively open for the summer season through October.
From mid-May 2020 on wards the Croatia borders were open to all travelers, including Americans who were required to present a PCR test for entry permission.
The current regulations are entry and expected to be changed regularly since the nation is approaching its tourist season.
Different businesses including bars, cafes, and restaurants have started to operate but only offering outside table service and take away.
Curfew is no longer in place, however, people are advised to wear protective masks, wash hands and ensure social distance.
All passengers from the U.S to Croatia must have a negative PCR test. It should be taken not more than 48 hours before entry. There is no need to stay in self-isolation upon arrival.
For those who don’t have a negative test, a PCR test will be done, at their own expense from any institution authorized to perform testing.

“The pandemic is getting worse day by day. Our responsibility now is to keep it under our control,” Castex told a news conference.
The state reported 35,000 new cases on Thursday and the intensive care unit in Paris is recording more Covid patients than at the peak of the second wave.
The lock-down is scheduled to start from Friday at midnight in France’s sixteen hardest-hit departments that, except one on the Mediterranean.

Located some 40 kilometers from the capital Reykjavik, a long-dormant volcano in southwest Iceland erupted on Friday causing interference to the country’s various sectors including air travel.
Reports show that both inbound and outgoing flights from Keflavik International Airport are on hold for some time. After some studies, it will resume.
This eruption adds to thousands of smaller earthquakes that occurred recently in the area. The country is under tough times. Nationals are advised to be calm and pray for good times ahead.
Iceland’s Meteorological Office reported the fissure caused by the eruption near the Fagradals Mountain was around 500 meters long, declaring "flight color code is red but very little turbulence is seen on seismometers."
A seismograph indicates that this heavy eruption started at 8:45 p.m. local time. The lava appeared to flow slowly.
This was all showcased in the video shared by the Meteorological office on their Facebook account.
Responsible authorities advised people to avoid the eruption site as stated below.
"We request people to stay calm and never bother to go close to the venting site or on Reykjanesbraut.
First responders need to be able to drive freely to assess the situation. Our scientists are working on assessing the eruption," police said.
