honestly people joke about how chrom is very dumb cause of the shit he does: trusting a random stranger with anmesia….. going blindly into battle….. absolutely agreeing to fight in a volcano…. eating unpeeled oranges……….. but he really is STUPIDLY SMART. like he doesn’t realise how bright he is. he may seem like a walking himbo at first glance, but he really isn’t. he can be incredibly calculating. he knows how to go through battle plans. he is NOT AT ALL DUMB. He’s aware & sometimes even hyper aware. it’s honestly such a crazy mix that i do not have the words to describe chrom. he’s an idiot. but he’s not an idiot. 

sometimes the things he says is just stuff that he’s thinking. he’s an honest man! whatever comes from his mouth comes straight from his thoughts. sometimes he doesn’t even realise what he’s saying. which is why he may kind of take a moment in getting lost in people’s reactions or if they ask him to repeat. because he legit will not remember what he said. its kinda like the in one ear, out the other but in this case, it forms in his head, can comes out of the mouth – & he will not realise what was said after the fact.  

anyway, long have i always been bothered with how chrom has been portrayed and drawn in fe. people use him as a stereotype and while it’s not as bad as some characters i have seen, it’s still PRETTY bad. he’s not a dumbass. he doesnt HAVE to wear only one sleeve – in official art, he’s seen wearing full armour!!! ( i HATE IT when people are like, oh he rips clothing to show off his arm, like no??? he doesn’t??? ) i have always been one to enjoy the deeper meta about characters. but no, do NOT ever simplify chrom as a stereotype. he’s more than conventional feed to stupid cliches. please don’t ever generalise chrom. not unless you KNOW that he’s more than what he’s known to do. 

chrom is so much more than eating unpeeled oranges and ripping sleeves off his right arm.

while i’m here and ranting/screaming about chrom…… chrom is not…. racist….. either. LIKE AT ALL. if anybody ever comes at me that he is or that he hates the fell dragon, grima, i will honestly come at you with a 🔪 because he.👏 is.👏 not.👏 racist! 👏

i don’t care if i get backlash from this.

i actually support the idea that chrom WOULD, in fact, be okay with robin joining with grima if it meant that robin didn’t LOSE his humanity. I already have partners that support this too. Why do you think he’s so severely affected when robin chooses to ‘kill’ grima???? grima only wants a means to END the world. Girma has NO humanity in him left. but that’s what ROBIN is. and GODS if you ever come at me that i’m wrong, then you need a reality check bud. Grima is a manifestation that was created by MEN. shit happens, there’s evil in the world okay. but not all evil is BAD. Grima was just rejected by the gods – anybody would fucking hate the world if you were treated a monster/demon for so long. but i digress.

Chrom has no hate for Plegia. he is not his fucking father. i will meet you in the god DAMN PIT to fight you. chrom was raised with the morals & standards of divine love from his sister. he may not be a fucking pacifist like her & will go to war to defend and protect the ones he loves but he dOESN’T DO IT OUT OF HATE. the only reason why he wants to ‘kill’ grima ( or in this case, put him back to sleep ) is because GRIMA STANDS IN THE WAY OF WHAT CHROM WANTS TO DEFEND. By god, he will absolutely kill to protect his values &, yes, he feels remorse for it too. he doesn’t want to kill grima, but he has to. 

god i can go on about this to im dajshfkljbn. long story short though…..
