Tsitsernakaberd memorial, Yerevan. April 24 of each year marks Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.

"The 44-meter stele symbolizes the national rebirth of Armenians. Twelve slabs are positioned in a circle, representing the twelve lost provinces in present-day Turkey. In the center of the circle, at a depth of 1.5 meters, there is an eternal flame dedicated to the 1.5 million people killed during the Armenian genocide."

my first hummingbird of the season stopped by the feeder today. it's my first year using a feeder; typically I'd see them later in the summer when the spider lillies are in bloom.

the trees have all grown their leaves, which wander in the air, birthing shadows that play on the stone patio. my eyes are distracted as I try to catch the presence of birds in the corner of my eye. false indications.

those same leaves obscure feathered visitors perched on branches. hide-and-seek and the hidden are weighing down one side of the scoreboard. is there a waxwing above?

fuck you, trees. you need an invisibility switch.
