Leo is about as turtle as a turtle can get, being one of the most common species, so he can go into his shell just fine! Of the four of them, he’s one of the two that can go brotherball mode, if with a little more risk of bumps and bruises as his shell can’t fully close.
And, of course, it is a rite of passage as a younger sibling to be thrown bodily into a pool of water at some point. Splashing everyone else in radius is just a bonus lol
While snapping turtles limbs are too big to fit into their teeny plastron, they can still pull their heads back pretty far! It can look a bit spooky, with their big jaws hissing at you from the dark cavern of their shoulders. I’ve had one too many a brush with Raph’s common cousins while fishing.
He’d probably keep the ability to hide his head tho! Could make for some fun hijinks, either in pranks or fights. He’d make a pretty good Headless Horseman on Halloween I bet. Mikey could pull the opposite and be the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail lol
Related to that, my family got a gag gift in the form of a Black Knight plushie with removable limbs and little red ribbons inside as a kid. The four of us caused a lot of grey hairs with our antics back then, of that I am sure!
Donnie, you flat fuck. Pancake lookin mf. He makes for the perfect floating table when relaxing in the water (at least until he’s awake enough to murder, that is)
Ah, yes, familial urge to stack random objects on a sleeping person to see if they notice. I used to balance, like, up to five plushies on my dad’s head before he’d wake up lol
As a box turtle, Mikey can close his shell completely to keep out anything that might get in to bother him! Like annoying brothers, for example. Outta sight, outta mind lol
I used to make tons of Christmas cookies with extended family that I would bring home after the holiday, but alas, every single one would disappear come morning without a crumb for me. Either Santa stuck around another night or I lived with ravenous wolves rather than people! I ended up having to hide the stash to dole them out at a reasonable pace (while saving myself my share) lol
So I can't actually think of ONE favourite episode but I think that ep "The Evil League of Mutants" is a really great example of everything I love about the show and a little underrated. It has so much creativity, awesome animation/fight scenes, wholesome family moments and some great laughs. I feel like you can REALLY see where the show was going with this ep.
I tried to encapsulate as many of these aspects of the episode into one picture as I could while having them be clear/distinct (as not to be overwhelming to look at) but also look like they're connected.
Still messing around with some new stuff on my desktop with my itty bitty wacom.
Also just realised I think I maybe should be tagging @tmaynt ?
My bad!
