A place where two people enter and one person leaves, that
person probably being you; filled with fanon, books, games, diabetes, and all other sorts of
mischief
SLYTHERIN: “There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and, after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.” –Logan Pearsall Smith (Afterthoughts)
On one hand, I sympathize with Rashta trying to make a life for herself after escaping slavery and having her child taken away, but on the other, Bitch
(visual & storywise) because it’s late and i’m tired this isn’t going to be as articulate as i wanted it to be
- dany and petyr are both jon & sansa’s aunt and uncle (petyr through his marriage to lysa) respectively
- both were ‘in love’ with jon/sansa
- both were in high positions of power
- king of the ashes/queen of the ashes
- both started a war because of revenge (lf orchestrated the wot5k and ned’s execution bc brandon humiliated him in harrenhal, and dany bc cersei killed missandei and bc she wanted the throne and because this was where her family was destroyed and bc apparently that justifies mass murder of innocent people or some shit)
- both were the ones with the power in their toxic abusive relationships with their niece/nephew
- both tried to isolate jon/sansa from their families. lf when he tried to turn sansa against jon at the beginning and end of s6, and most of s7 and dany when she near commanded jon not to tell his family abt r+l=j basically gaslighting him and telling him that anything that happened after that would be on him. such wholesome love btw.
- sansa made a deal with lf to secure the kotv to help jon win the botb and regain winterfell for their family and spent all of s7 appeasing him so that the army stayed.
- jon made a deal with dany in order to secure the firepower he needed to fight the nk, let his aunt have him bc she wanted him and has spent near on all of s8 appeasing her and being her loyal sycophant to protect his people and his family. (it didn’t go as planned but that’s beside the point)
- lf was killed for his crimes against house Stark, and was also a threat to jon that sansa neutralized.
- dany was killed for her crimes against the realm, and was also a threat to sansa that jon neutralized.
now onto the visual parallels
these speak louder to me bc we can say and infer how much we want but it’s what we see on screen that tells the story the most. like, jon/dany and sansa/lf paralleling each other once is happenstance. twice a lucky occurence, three times a coincidence (tho not really bc this is got and most of the important shit in this story comes in threes) but these two pairings (can’t even call them that in my mind) paralleling each other six fucking times is there for a reason. (It’s actually more than six)
1. 7x01//7x03
2. 7x01//7x05
3. 7x02//8x01
5x03//8x04
5x03//8x05
(Gifs not mine, second one is by @athimbleful )
I’ve reached the pic limit for this but there will be more to come on this. Eventually. Maybe, whatever.
Two years have passed since Sansa Stark was crowned Queen in the North. While she is a just and fair ruler, beloved by all, her people have started clamoring for her to get married in order to provide the North with an heir. Suitors from far and wide arrive at Winterfell to prove their worth to the young sovereign, including a few, er…rather familiar faces…
