Life has been super hectic again. Just finished up with a Bachelorette trip and prepping for friend's wedding next month. Plus my bday this Saturday aaaand a con/photoshoot next month. Work has been taking up all my free time and yeah.

what happened after midna shattered the mirror of twilight

" link . . . i . . . see you later . . . "

it was by far the hardest thing she had to do . . . but most importantly the hardest goodbye she's ever made . not since her parents had passed .

to see that ever shifting glow vanish ? it broke her . before link . before zelda . she stood tall and proud and strong . however , when back in her realm , she crumbled to the ground . she dropped and pressed her hands to her face a wailed . she cried out in grief and rage . her people came in worry as they watched their leader break down before their eyes .

a youngling came and placed a small hand upon the monarch's shaking shoulder . it took a moment but she calmed and composed herself . her people still needed her . despite her broken heart she must be strong for her people .

two years . two light realm years passed . not a day went by that midna did not think of them . link and her dear friend zelda . link . . . she missed their adventures . missed talking to him . missed his presence . his eyes . his smile . there wasn't a moment her mind didn't wander to thoughts of him . where was he ? what was he doing ? what was he thinking about ? did he miss her as much as she missed him . questions like that came before bed , while she ate , during meetings .

she tried to find him in the reflective surfaces of his world . however , she did not know where those items were ; a mirror in a hall , smooth ice in the mountains , a still pool of water in a field . there was one time she could have sworn she saw a glimpse of him in castle town --- in that tavern they visited often . her heart had skipped a beat . her chest squeeze and breath catch . it was just a glimpse of that green .

that glimpse gave her the hope she needed . she still kept looking to find the reflective surfaces that would allow her to see him most often . she found a few in that small village in ordon but at least they allowed her to occasionally see him . it always brought a smile to her face just to see him .

did she make the right decision ? that was a question she also asked herself quite often . should she have shattered the mirror of twilight ? it seemed like the right choice at the time . in her mind their realms should not mix . her people could not exist within the light of their realm and unless one had the blessing of the goddesses those of the light could not exist within her realm without turning into a sort of spirit . it was too late now , surely .

unless . . . she could find a way to just communicate . . . maybe a reflective surface ? she'd have to keep trying .
