Recently, I was asked to create some illustrations for a piece by Will Darling. He has a new sex and dating column in The Stranger called “Trans In The City.” I can’t wait to read more! You can read his first piece here:

Thanks for the mention @septicstank ! I did draw and letter this image, but I should also credit Jourdan Tymkow who took the photo of Ivan, that I traced from. P.S. Go read all of Ivan Coyote’s work! And if anyone wants to read trans and queer comics, check me out on instagram (@elnations) which is where I posted this illustration and quote.

Maybe they weren’t all couples, but there was definitely some chemistry there...
Who are some of your favorites? I know I missed a lot.

Reposting this one because it’s gonna be another miserably hot day. I drew this 3 years ago (almost) to the day. To anyone who binds, you are in my thoughts. It’s one of the most uncomfortable things I’ve done. It’s incredibly awful in the summer. Be safe. Stay hydrated. If it’s possible, try a sports bra or go without compressing your chest. Wear cotton and linen. Choose a mid-length binder over the full-length ones. Some suggest baby powder under the binder. For folks with friends who bind, invite them to your air conditioned houses/apartments. Maybe offer them rides in your air conditioned cars if they bike or take public transportation. I never wanted to go anywhere during the summer when I was binding because I knew the trek would be sweaty and awful.

kickstarter
Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone wants to help support this little queer + woman owned comic book shop in Portland. They have 5 days left of their Kickstarter campaign. (Ends on May 7 2019.)
Books with Pictures is an inclusive feminist space that carries a variety of diverse comics. The first time I stopped in, I was excited to see the large number of self published zines by trans creators. As Katie Proctor says in the video, “...we have protagonist in our comics that are people of color, that are people with disabilities, all sorts of queer comics, we especially focus on having comics with people of different genders and sexualities, and really just being a space where absolutely anyone can find a comic book that feels like home for them.”
Books with Pictures is planning to move into a new space, but they need some help with moving costs, remodeling the bathroom to make it more accessible, and other repairs.
One of the rewards is a tote curated be me! For $100 you’ll receive a BwP tote filled with a BwP sticker, a signed copy of the Gumballs trade paperback, and an original drawing by me!
I understand $100 might be a lot, but if you can consider donating a dollar or sharing this campaign that would be appreciated! LINK: Books with Pictures Great Big Move!
Thanks!

This is sample of a comic I created for the anthology How To Wait: An Anthology of Transition. It’s about the wait that occurs during different stages of my transition.
“How to Wait is an art, writing, and comics anthology, edited by Sage Persing, that collects the work of 30 trans, nonbinary, and gender-non-conforming artists as they attempt to cope with the myriad forms of waiting that come with their transitions and experience of gender.”
Contributors Include: Gabriel Howell, AJ Rio-Glick, E.L. Tedana, Allspice, Erin Nations, Joris Bas Backer, Sam Owens, Maia Kobabe, Samuel Luke, Krysta Morningstarr-Cox, Oliver Northwood, Indie Beare, Laurel Lynne Leake, Mister Loki, Ash Wadi, Kou Chen, Sage Persing, Kat Ghastly, Will Betke-Brunswick, Simon Williamson, Veronica Casson, Joa Blumenkranz, Charlie Davies, Jae Zander Kitinoja, Jamie Diaz, Sonya Saturday, Oce, Ajuan Mance, Kimball Anderson, Maia Vlcek
To read the full comic, support trans/non binary/gender non-conforming artists and buy a copy online! (As of 04/28/2019, the book is sold out, but it’s being reprinted and copies should be available in two weeks!)

“GUMBALLS BY ERIN NATIONS - The really nice thing about this book is that Erin profiles other people on the LGBTQ rainbow. That, plus the vignettes about Erin’s life and transition, make this a true gumball machine of trans-inclusive joy.”
