Sometimes I do silly little challenges and put them on the internet.
Starting every Wednesday, I’m going to be using a random plot generator to give me a prompt and I have 5 minutes to write.
I’m going to call it Wednesday Writing Challenge. (Very creative, right?)
Anyways.
This was the prompt I had this week:
Main character: A man in his early thirties, who can be quite overbearing.
Setting: The story begins in an abandoned warehouse.
Situation: Someone is accused of theft.
Theme: hatred.
Character action: Your character sets out to change everyone's opinion.
After five minutes of writing, this is what I came up with:
The last place Kyle wanted to be tonight was following the obnoxious petty thief with a bob of black hair, striding confidently through the adboned warehouse as if she didn’t just steal the richest man in Cityville’s cell phone. This is, by far, the worst first date he had ever been on.
“Will you slow down and tell me what the hell we’re doing?” he asked, exasperated.
Ray laughed, flashing her bright smile over her shoulder as they approached the door. “Adding some excitement to your life. Weren’t you just saying at dinner that you wished you had better stories to share?”
“Theft is not a better story,” he snapped, holding the door open for her as they entered a cramped stairwell. “You know they’re tracking that phone.”
Her large brown eyes were filled with mischief and she placed a hand on his chest. “That’s the point.” She winked and took off up the stairs.
Kyle stammered. “What do you mean, ‘that’s the point?’ Ray, are you even listening?” He swore as her footsteps echoed on the stairs above him.
Kyle took one last look at the door, deciding if she would be worth following or if he should leave before she led him to greater trouble.

I want to see what you come up with Yao g this prompt! Reblog with your 5 minute writing challenge!
I’m starting Iron Widow and will be listening to She Who Became the Sun on audiobook.
I’m a slow reader so this is all I have planned. I’ve made a flat donation to the Transgender Law Center and will be buying trans books from my local bookstore this week.
i just think it's neat that odysseus gets put in a position where he has to kill his child to avoid going to war and he can't do it and then agamemnon gets put in a position where he has to kill his child to go to war and he does it
In a court full of lies, they must find the truth.
Game of Thrones meets the TV series Reign in Eri Leigh's A Queen's Game, a political fantasy book set in an elven royal court with simmering tension, broken promises, & surprising twists that keep readers guessing until the very last line.
Heads up, I’m moving this blog over to @erileighbooks and making it my primary blog so I can follow people back and like book posts
Updating my tumblr in 2023? It’s more likely than you think.
I haven’t posted on here since May 7, 2017. A lot has changed.
Like, you know, writing a whole fantasy book.
I had a secondary blog (this one here) that I’ve been managing the last year or so but sick of it being my old account name associated when I follow or like a post.
