I’m writing this post only now, because I was at work and very tired, I work 2/2 (15 hours in one shift).

It will not only be about the Gatobob case, but also simply about the topic of “abolition.”

When I found out that Gatobob deleted her accounts I felt very sad, this is not the first creative person to delete their account due to pressure from people and for the sake of their mental health.

I have just one question. PEOPLE, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Nothing to do? Do you have anything else to do other than pester people? Many people forget that people can change morally over time, different things can happen, many forget that people can grow morally and become better, and can also change their views over time, this is normal. If you don’t understand this, then these are your problems and yours alone.

I don’t understand why condemn a person for OLD POSTS, are you completely crazy? You have nothing to do? Condemning people for old misdeeds is to some extent stupid and from the outside it may seem that SOME are simply looking for a reason to be “offended.” This is not the first time I have seen people get cancelled, I often get tired of it.

If you have a lot of free will to “search” for supposedly various offensive things, then it is better to use this time for more important things, such as volunteering, educating yourself and helping refugees, especially during such difficult times.

from what i’ve seen that melon person who is pretty much the root of all our problems these past few days apologised and the victim accepted the apology. i know some people will still hold a grudge against gatobob after all this but can we please start to move on?

the person who took her tumblr username is just… i don’t wanna sound rude at all but almost manic posting about all this. i think it would have made a lot more sense to just make a little big post about the whole controversy and say what she did wrong instead of giving us a twitter link… not all of us use that app and just answering anonymous questions on the matter that mostly just make you look good by only talking normally to the ones who agree with you is a bit… weird?

i saw that some person said something like “ehhghhhh i’m sorry everyone is venting in your asks rn… they should calm down after their mommy gives them their milkies” bro are you hearing yourself LMFAOO i’d be embarrassed only from WRITING that. and the fact that the callout account reposted it makes me cringe. and that “sorry for throwing the blame on you think just sounds like you’re desperately trying to make someone like you.

of COURSE some people will throw part of the blame on them. they took her username to spread all this shit and i can’t even imagine what gato might be going through mentally.

i know what she did was wrong and i’m not saying she’s an angel but i’m pretty sure her defending melon was just a weird way of hers trying to not lose a friend. if i remember correctly guri gurobob or one of her other accounts, when asked what she’s the most scared of, one of the entries clearly said “disappointing my friends”. i’m sure she didn’t mean any ill will. i’m sure her defending her friend was a rushed thing and she didn’t think it through. i’m sorry for the person who got insulted in the server but im so relived that maybe just MAYBE from melons apology and the victims accepting it that fucking callout account can chill too.

i’ll try to explain like… idk three of the controversies. i’m only aware of these

1. Strade not having a last name

first off gato said at some point (i’m pretty sure that she said that in her discord server) that strade isn’t even his REAL name. bro the guy is a KIDNAPPER. HE KILLS AND RAPES PEOPLE. he would be pretty stupid giving out personal info to his victims i’m sure. saying that he isn’t good POC representation because of this is genuinely fucking stupid like did you not play the game…

2. Her being racist for not having POC characters in the game

bro i don’t even know where they came up with this one from…. THERE ARE.

3. that fucking nazi strade drawing

i’m actually so surprised some of you are JUST finding out about it now hahaha

i’m pretty sure the drawing is pretty old. like 8 years ago? i don’t know when it was posted but it was definitely in an era of the internet when stuff like this was more normalised. i mean, the thing with being edgy and all that, you know…

and from what i’m also aware, a friend told me she actually deleted the drawing and also apologised for it?? if it has already been talked about why bring it up again?

plus come on… strade is a horrible person and i’m sure he would be capable of supporting something as bad as the nazis but also notttt…. because he himself isn’t white and straight you know… it’s probably just a drawing made for some fetish related stuff you know? people just like uniforms.

i don’t even know what else to say. i’m sorry for everyone who took part in this drama directly. i’m sorry for gato and im sorry for the victim.

at this point i just hope people can calm down. i don’t want gato spiraling again into a deep depression like she did while working on Facility, ending up in hospitals and psychiatrist wards from stress.

Finding out that Gatobob deleted all her socials is the worst fucking thing to happen. Her projects meant so much to us. Seeing everything gone because of people on Twitter makes us feel so fucking mad.

Yes, we are aware that she will continue working on YKMET. We know she is taking a break for her own sanity. It's only seeing everything gone that makes us feel this way.

I hope Gatobob will be okay.

Stop caring about "having an art style"

Draw what you want. Draw what makes you happy in a way that you enjoy. A style is not as important as people make it out to be these days. Its a relatively new thing to obsess over in wake of social media and needing to be "totally unique and on brand"
