Thinking about the blitzstone dynamic that's Hearth on some self sacrificial bullshit and Blitzen going not on my watch

How did Hearthstone feel when Blitzen stood between him and Alderman dragon? No one has ever protected Hearth, especially from his father. Not even his mother could stand up to his wrath. But now Blitz is standing between them, fighting Alderman in his most dangerous, most life-threatening form. How did it feel to be loved and protected to the highest degree?

Blitzstone is canon in the same way Ernie and Bert are canon. It was always intended, it is clear that it was always intended, they sleep together and everything. I mean they poke each other half heartedly and my brain just decorates their wedding party ngl.

OKAY GUYS SO. *slaps on clown makeup* I think I know why Blitzstone was never made canon.

*begins pacing* we all know that blitzstone is a side ship, unlike fierrochase, so we never really got an in-depth look into this ship because it’s from magnus’s pov. Rick dedicated HoT to JRR Tolkien, who apparently introduced him to norse mythology. Therefore we can assume that he’s read lotr. Hearth annd Blitz are an elf and a dwarf who’re very close to each other. Who in lotr are an elf and a dwarf who’re also very close to each other? Legolas and Gimli, obviously. SO we can assume from here that Rick modelled Hearth and Blitz on them. It’s up for debate over whether gigolas was a thing, though it seems to be implied- KEEPING IN MIND our theory that Rick based Blitz and Hearth’s relationship on them, it follows that blitzstone was never made canon because gigolas was never made canon.

so absolutely obsessed with the hints of just how much Hearth loves Blitz that're just everywhere in the series. like even the spells he casts. he only uses reckless, dangerous, self-destructive spells when Blitz is in danger. rune of sacrifice? when he thought Fenris killed him. rune of the ox that made him lose his mind and become a conduit for all his frustration? the tomb. rune of destruction and lightning that made him kill a lake of fish in search of one guy who was ALSO in that lake? trying to save Blitz. his magic becomes desperate, much more of a glass canon. he goes FERAL for this man
