“While I’d rather not have her (or any of my kids) start swearing, she’s already using other words as a substitute for it. But I don’t think she’s met another Mimikyu before, so the experience should be good for her too.”

Nocturne began to rub the back of his neck. “I agree. And I absolutely refuse to let those people or Pokemon meet them or for them to go near those people. But if I even hear someone call them that, then I’ll give them a nightmare.”

“…It’s still terrible to hear about, but I don’t think I’d feel bad for the idiots who use them. If they get attacked by those Pokemon, then that’s on them. They probably knew what they were getting into in the first place.” Okay maybe that was a little bit harsh of him to say, but he finds it hard to feel sympathy for people who knowingly do stupid and dangerous things.

The Darkrai then looked a little puzzled at the response. “I don’t think that most people would go and follow the older traditions nowadays. But congratulations on your marriage. And I guess it does make a little more sense than worshipping a literal fossil. Wait, people actually worship a fossil?!” The thing that confused him with his species being worshipped is the whole nightmare thing. But now he was even more baffled by the idea of people doing that with a fossil.

“There really isn’t much that can be done when it comes to that,” he agreed. “But I’d stick to focusing on the lighter side of things that occurred because of your ability. That way you’ll know that not everyone agrees with the ones against it.”

“Well then, while there might need to be some damage control, I’ll absolutely bring Harley over to play one day with her. I’m sure Harley would be ecstatic as well, he always does like meeting new playmates.” Rui beamed at the thought of this playdate now. Perhaps the swearing would be a problem, but a fixable one… hopefully.

Rui then nodded and said “As I thought, that’s good at least. No child should have to experience that cruelness. It can haunt them for the rest of their life.” Really, if Rui heard of anyone bullying someone else because they’re different, she may very well fight them. Though, of course, the keyword being someone else, not her.

“Ah, I mostly feel bad for the ones who won them or obtained them without knowing. Cipher tried their best to distribute them throughout Orre, including to people who didn’t know the danger. Of course, those that did know the danger probably did deserve the consequences… but still.” Rui was a kindhearted person, and she didn’t wish death on very many people. Cipher was terrible but… well, that didn’t mean she wanted the grunts to end up severely hurt or dead, even by their own stupidity.

Rui laughed at Nocturne’s baffled response. “Th-thank you for the congratulations. But yes, some people worship a Helix fossil and the resulting Pokemon from it. Don’t quite know why, but people are weird.”

Rui nodded, her smile just a bit smaller. “Of course, I try to do that, such as helping out my friends and finding shadow Pokemon.” But at the same time, there was also quite a bit of bad that came from it that was literally imprinted in her mind and hard to ignore. After all, if she didn’t have these abilities, she probably wouldn’t have been almost killed, then kidnapped and almost killed again. But still. “Thanks for the help though, it does make me feel a bit better over it.”

I have literally even told her I was staying here for a few days for my mental health, cause I needed a break from her... but she went and messaged my dad and Janet to say that I’m just trying to avoid my chorse....))

Sympathy. That was a familiar word even to Light. The familiarity of it when it would be honored as one of the utopia’s most radiant and giving ruler. That sympathy turned into manipulation, and that manipulation turned into disgusting  greediness. Seeing it AND hearing it from the other human only made Light clench the sharp darkened claw, retaining the amount of anger seething through his body.

The anger, the rage as cold as any sort of outer space and its vacuum, held Light in a frozen state of bewilderment. Its own kind was protecting those that had hurt it, and in Light’s mind it was inexcusable. Scanning both of them before provided it enough information to determine that it will not be able to win a fight such as with its own self. The human held those abnormal circular contraptions that housed more than one beast, so even if it wanted to attack and be rid of its counterpart, it didn’t seem likely that it will make it in the next five to six pokemon after.

Instead of acting out on its aggression instincts, to fight for dominance over its other specimen, the stray Necrozma dug its claws into the Earth. 

“I calculate that I cannot….. stand alone against… my own self in this state, therefore…. it would be foolish…. to attack you…. or your human.” Its voice gritty, edged with the rage that it contained within itself. Even if it wanted to take the other Necrozma’s light, it couldn’t. Not yet, anyway. 

“You trust… your own to only… sample that of a small… glimmer of light?! 

Necrozma glared down at Light, unlike his human, he didn’t have any sympathy for this version of himself. If it would so cruelly take what it wanted and couldn’t even accept a kind hand, then that is its own fault and it could suffer for all Necrozma cared. With another flap of his wings, he callously said “At least you know your own strength… It’s foolish in general to hunt so cruelly and thoroughly… I may remember the hunger… But eating all the light in this world would mean nothing… and all you’d have left is nothing! What is the point of wandering alone in a cold world? Without a human... you’ll never reach this power again!” Of course, Necrozma could be wrong, but as far as he knew? To reach power without pain and loneliness is to reach it with a human, a partner, at your side.

With a huff of anger and indignation, Necrozma added “Any Pokémon with aura ability should be enough to feed… but you’re greedy… You have no care for anyone or thing but yourself.” Perhaps his opinion could be wrong, but even from this one altercation with Light, he was sure his analysis was true. There was nothing but ill intent from this version of him. He’d put it out of its misery if he didn’t have the fear the fight could end up hurting his human, his Rui. “MY human might feel sympathy and want to help you… but I do not. You can suffer for all I care. You refuse to accept an ounce of kindness… of advice to try and help… That is your own problem. Suffer you bitter fool!” With the last bit, Necrozma screeched in his anger.

Rui stepped back at the sheer anger, rage, coming off both Pokémon. But, while she hated to admit it, at the very least Necrozma’s analysis of Light being greedy and bitter seemed to be true. It wrapped around Light like a blanket of sickening negativity, it’s aura, weak though it may be, was dark and warped. It seemed that even an act of kindness was twisted into something foul by this Pokémon. Was its treatment worse than her Necrozma’s? Was it just more prone to holding a grudge? What caused Light to be this twisted and angry that her Necrozma avoided? She would probably never know, but still, it’s bitterness and anger pained her to see. She wanted to help, but… but she was sure she didn’t have the ability to, not without more knowledge at least, but most likely… most likely not at all. Light was to twisted into himself to ever be helped back into the light, as he would never accept that help it appeared.
