We're Not Friends

Pairing: Fezco x Reader

Summary: The reader has been friends with Fezco for years. She's never really been bothered or jealous over the handsome man, until Faye enters the picture.

Warnings: Mentions of drugs, sex and swearing.

A/n: I love you guys so much. This one was fun to write.

I wasn't allowed to be jealous.

I knew that the only reason the blonde was even at Fez's in the first place was because of his stupid business arrangement with her stupid boyfriend. It didn't comfort me that she had a boyfriend, knowing that she was beautiful and sexy made me insecure on it's own. Maybe it was internalized misogyny or something but I couldn't stand to see her walking around his apartment, her t-shirt barely covering her ass, just flaunting how good she looks in front of Fez.

I had no idea if Fez found her attractive but I knew he was a good guy. He would be an idiot to not realize her. He would never have sex with his friends girlfriend just out of pure respect but there was something about her.

Something about the fact that I knew that she was walking around his apartment, spending time with Ash and him from morning till night. She was developing a relationship with the two of them, getting closer to them, while I pouted and watched from afar. I knew that she was even so deep in his life that she would go with him to the shop, helping him out and spending time with him. I could only imagine their conversations, picturing them pass a blunt back and forth. Fuck, she saw him more than I did and I've been his best friend since preschool.

I didn't have the right to be jealous when I couldn't even tell him my feelings flat out. I realized my feelings were a bit more than friendly when he told me about his first crush in middle school. The hot rage that filled my belly, my cheeks flushing at the information. I was angry and I couldn't even pinpoint why until three days later at three in the morning, it hit me. I was in love with my best friend and I would rather die than see him with someone else.

But what did I do? Nothing. I did nothing.

I suffered through years of him having feelings for people, never acting on it but always telling me, his best friend. I would just smile and nod when I could, concealing the tears that wanted to break through with every blush on his freckled cheeks and bashful confession that would leave his lips.

But Faye? Fuck, I couldn't handle it anymore. Not with the fact that she was walking around, capturing his attention and captivating him. It made me physically ill to think about.

Making my way up the stairs of his apartment, my eyes peak through the window to see the three of them seated in the living room. Faye smiles, her hand reaching out to slap playfully against Fez's chest as my stomach lurches.

I hesitate in front of the door, my words getting lodged in my throat at the thought of actually telling him. I had been ignoring him for a few days no, dodging his texts and calls as I tried to come up with something to tell him. He deserved an explanation as to why I was so closed off and mean to him.

By the time I finally knock on the door, Fez is opening it, his head tilting at me playfully. My cheeks warm at his gaze, my bottom lip tugging in between my teeth as he grins.

"You gonna come in or just stare at me some more?" He laughs, reaching out to tug me into the apartment. I just laugh bashfully, my arms crossed over my chest as I watch him close and lock the door. When he turns to me, I try to push down the tears that want to leave my eyes but he notices them before I do. His brows furrow softly, his hand reaching out to rest on my upper arm. "C'mere." He whispers, guiding me out of the kitchen and down the hall. He always had the ability to tell when something was off, even when I wasn't actively avoiding him. My heart pounds in my chest as he leads me to his bedroom, my anxiety at peak level.

Shutting the door, I plop down onto his bed with a huff. He turns to me with a sad smile, his shoulders shrugging. "You wanna tell me why you been ignorin' me and shit?" He asks genuinely, coming to sit down next to me on the bed as I sigh. "C'mon, you can tell me anything." He whispers, my heart swelling at his kind words as I tuck my knees to my chest.

"I'm really bad at communicating how I feel." I whisper, my gaze flickering over to him as he listens, knowing that that was true. "I don't like when you look at other girls." I mutter with a groan, his gaze turning to something more teasing as he smirks. "Shut up." I chuckle, his eyes looking over me as my fingers twitch nervously in my lap. "I don't like that Faye is here, living with you, laughing with you. It drives me crazy and has since we were kids. And call me crazy, cuz I am but I just can't not look at you and see the person that I want to be with." I cover my face with my hands, hiding my embarrassment and anxious tears as his hand reaches out to rest on my back.

"What're you sayin'?" He asks quietly, moving closer to me. I know that from my silence that he knew exactly what I was trying to say. "Shoulda told me." He whispers, my head tilting to rest against his shoulder as I pout. "You got feeling's for me?" He asks again, my head bobbing in a quiet nod as my eyes flutter shut. "Well shit, I coulda told you that." He chuckles suddenly, his chest rumbling in laughter as my gaze flies up to look at him. A shocked look passes over my face as he nods, confirming the suspicion that he knew I had feelings for him this whole time. "Your mom told me when we was like sixteen or somethin'." I reach out, shoving his shoulders as he laughs, a shocked laugh leaving my lips.

"You dickhead!" I giggle, feeling his hands wrap around my waist to tug me closer to him.

"I been waiting for you to tell me!" He laughs, his hands resting securely on my hips as my cheeks warm nervously and.

"You're fucking mean." I whisper, his nose nudging against mine as he smiles handsomely. My breath get lodged in my throat as his eyes flicker down to my lips, his hand reaching up to cup my cheek softly. His lips press against mine in a simple, quick kiss, a small gasp leaving my lips.

"I'll show you mean, ma."

When Nate and (Y/N) were little, they were inseparable. Nate was born a couple of minutes before his sister so he had always felt like he was her big brother. For a while, they were best friends. They would build forts together and wouldn’t let Aaron inside. They would steal the chocolate chip cookies their mom had made for dinner. (Y/N) loved reading. And Nate loved whenever (Y/N) would read to him. Nate was the one (Y/N) would call whenever there was a thunderstorm outside or whenever she was afraid that there was a monster in her closet. And he would come. And he would stay with her so she wouldn’t be afraid. And then, one day, everything changed.

“Yo, ‘s my favorite customer” you looked up to see Fez walking over to you and felt your heart flutter at the sight.

“You know, technically, I don’t think I’m a customer since you’ve never let me pay for anything” you said, letting out some smoke from your cigarette and making him laugh.

“Word” he said, sitting down next to you and you offered him the pack of cigarettes. “Thanks, ma” he said, and you felt your cheeks burning.

“So what brings you here to a glorious East Highland fucking Blackhawks football game?”

“‘S a good selling point” he told you.

“Under the bleachers?”

“‘S where the magic happens” he said. “What about you? You a football fan?”

You laughed a bit louder than you intended, making you let out a small snort, and your smile quickly faded away, feeling extremely embarrassed.

“S-sorry” you said, with a nervous smile. Fez thought it was the cutest shit he’d ever seen.

“Don’t sweat it, ma” he said, blowing out the smoke. “So, I take it you’re not a football fan?”

“I fucking hate football” you said, looking away.

“Why’re you here then?”

“Because my stupid brother is playing so my stupid dad makes me come to his stupid games” you said, sighing while blowing out the smoke of your cigarette.

“That’s fucked up, man” Fez said, noticing your tone changing to a sad one.

“Word” you smiled sadly at him.
