WIP Wednesday

Thank you to @emeryhall and @thewholelemon for the tags. Special thanks to EVERYONE who shared advice or encouraging words on my last post. I am actively putting all of your words into practice and just taking a break to fill my cup, which looks like reading fics, baking treats, and exercising.

This upcoming chapter is on the shorter side and contains one of the bigger reveals of the fic (two if you are a super close reader like @cutestkilla), so I can't post too much.

Instead, I'll pull the curtain back on the writing process as @bookish-bogwitch did and share a picture of a note I made on the outline for a future chapter that I find amusing.

In the spirit of bait and switch, here are two lines where someone will gasp in chapter 4 and it will not be for sexy reasons...

I’ll keep this short, because I’m on my phone, sitting in a parking lot, and I still have to drive home.

I have so many unanswered questions about my own COBB; it’s impressive at this point to be honest. But I also have a question for you: does anyone remember the bonus content floor from Carry On? I have the excerpt on hand, but I’m just curious about whether you actively recall it easily if I mentioned it in a fic or if you would need to be reminded.

When I started regularly booking with @ dragonboy I told myself that he couldn’t break my heart again. He had already shattered it once, stomped on it, pulverized it to dust; there was nothing left to break. Then I’d scooped up that dust into some sort of kevlar case—an OtterBox for heart dust. You could now toss it off four-story buildings or drop it into fifty meters of water without damage. Wrong. Simon Snow is quite capable of eternally breaking my heart.

Hello! I don't have any new words to share from Basil Pitch's Diary, but thought I'd share the BPD plot timeline that lives over my desk. Here it is, redacted but for one spoiler.

I just needed to physically move things around to grasp what could / should go when. When I finish writing an event, the paper slip comes down. (It's not to scale in terms of chronology--this started about halfway through the story.) At this point I've changed a lot and it's out of date but I've kept it up for inspiration. I mean--look at him! He deserves an HEA.
